The new SMX streaming multiprocessor is twice as efficient as the prior generation, and the new geometry engine draws triangles twice as fast. The result is world-class performance and the highest image quality in an elegant, power-efficient graphics card.
  • neweggNVIDIA GPU Boost 2.0This brand-new technology allows gamers to push PC performance to the maximum with precise controls. GPU Boost 2.0 intelligently monitors work with advanced controls like GPU temperature target, overclocking, and overvoltage to ensure the GPU works at the ultimate performance.
  • neweggNVIDIA Adaptive Vertical SyncNothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing; at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.

And with NVIDIA's track record for fast and frequent software updates, you'll not only get the best performance in existing games, but in future games too.

Add in a fourth display to keep tabs on chat, email or web while you are gaming.
  • neweggTXAA AntiAliasingAntialiasing helps to smooth out jagged lines in games. Existing techniques like MSAA are effective at removing jagged lines in still images, but struggle with crawling and shimmering artifacts when the player is in motion. TXAA is a new antialiasing mode that combines MSAA, temporal filtering, and post processing for the highest-edge quality and minimal shimmering during gameplay.

3 out of 5 eggsACX cooler needs work

Pros: High factory overclock, great performance

Cons: The ACX cooler has some significant design and/or quality control flaws. First of all, it's not what I'd call quiet. The fans are near-silent at idle, but once they ramp up to 60-65% during a normal gaming load, they are definitely audible. Coming from an excellent triple-fan Arctic Cooling solution on my previous card, I was quite disappointed by this.

After a few months of owning the card one of the fans would randomly stop spinning, making the other one spin up to 100% to compensate (resulting in quite a racket). I requested an RMA from EVGA, but the new card produced a very annoying metallic rattle at certain fan RPMs from loose heatsink fins. Looking at EVGA's forums shows that this seems to be a pretty common issue. Luckily someone came up with a quick fix involving thermal tape, and I've found the card acceptable since applying the fix. However, a card in this price range should work well right out of the box.

To EVGA's credit, their RMA process was quick and painless. But I just can't recommend this card in its current state.

3 out of 5 eggsBlacking out with dual monitor

Pros: Excellent performance with PC games
I get great FPS with MS Flight Simulator X
No heating problems
Overclocking is a nice feature

Cons: I'm running a dual monitor setup ... DVI for both ... monitors are ASUS PA248Q s (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236287). When playing a video on the primary monitor the secondary monitor goes black for a second or two and then comes back ... I've RMA's the card but the same problem persists ... I've researched the iNet and this is a documented problem). I'm using driver 335.23 and upgrade with every new driver. The problem still persists with no solution.

Other Thoughts: Search for "evga gtx 780 black screen" in Google and marvel are the results.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Charles B,

I am very sorry to hear that your problems with your one monitor are continuing after processing a warranty request. I can confirm that this usually means that there is either a problem with the cable or monitor or another issue occurring causing a loss in signal. I can first recommend trying to swap the monitors and see if it follows the monitor or the port that it was plugged into. If you find it follows the monitor then I would highly recommend testing that monitor or cable further. If you find it follows the port and you are running Windows 8.1 then we would recommend trying to uninstall an update from Windows Updater located in your uninstall programs in windows called “KB2919355” to see if this helps. If you should need further technical support we are here to assist you 24 hours at 1-888-881-3842 option 1 or by email at Newegg@evga.com.

Sincerely,
EVGA Customer Support

5 out of 5 eggsMy very first Nvidia Card

Pros: Looks nicely made, run quite/cool. no issues so far.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This was my first Nvidia Card, and I LOVE it!! it was a step up from my 7950. I game at 5760x1080 and this card would max out most game on ultra settings.

4 out of 5 eggsthat coil whine tho

Pros: Able to match the refresh rate of my 144hz monitor and then some with many modern games on medium detail

Cons: Audible coil whine. The card and my case are pretty quiet even with a heavy load, but the coil whine is very irritating. It gets louder depending on the intensity of what you are looking at in game (eg looking into a skybox is a lower pitch, looking at high poly areas is higher pitched). For such an expensive card, I expected this wouldn't be an issue, and because of the price, it's worth taking an egg off. I'd RMA it, but the card would work just as good as it does already.

5 out of 5 eggsPowerful,fast,cool.

Pros: Just a Solid performer all around.
This design from EVGA is going push the GK110 GPU that is the GTX 780.
This Card makes good use of GPU Boost 2.0 and can go quite faster than on the specs.
And Power. The PCB and Cooling are very exceptional. Runs at 90-100% power no problem. And stays around 60-65°C on demanding titles.

Cons: I have no cons about this graphics card. Though I have seen some flickering more than I would like to. Maybe it is a driver issue i hope.

Other Thoughts: Note: I did not get mine off of newegg, Though I should have...I am still waiting for a response from Nviida,EVGA, A_____n.....ect for the Watch Dogs Code.
If you are looking for a Graphics card that can really push the GTX 780 GPU than this would be the one.

5 out of 5 eggsEVGA has done it again.

Pros: Runs every game over 60 fps @ 2560x1440 that i have tried so far. Getting 2 for sli is alomost pointless for this card it's slightly faster then the Titan for half the price enough said.

Cons: Nothing so far even the latest drivers are perfect.

Other Thoughts: If you have triple display i would say get 2 and you will be good.

5 out of 5 eggsBeastly card

Pros: Beastly card, bought this solely for BF4 on a 3 monitor surround setup. I had a gtx 660 that only pulled 40-55 fps on low (5760 x 1080) Now with this 780 superclocked I can pull ~140 fps on low and on high still manage to get 55-60 fps. Not quite capable of pulling off 60 fps on ultra at that resolution (at least with AA turned on). Was a little bit of a coil whine when I fist turned it on but it stopped after a little bit of game play. It actually fit inside my case (almost forgot to account for all the wires in the way, gotta consider that).

Cons: Coil whine at first, went away fast though. Size, it is long but still fits. Temperature, when i used my gtx 660 my fans were relatively quiet when I was gaming. Now that I have this installed I have noticed that the fans run a lot more when I am gaming. This might be because I have the fan settings set to turn up real high at a relatively low temperature. Might have to adjust that, nothing gets overheated so it is not that big of a deal, just needs some tweaking.
One thing I do not like that I am trying to get to the bottom of is the mouse stutter that has started to happen since I installed this card. I do not think that it is EVGA's fault so I wont dock any eggs. I have read that other people are having problems with this on the gtx 700 series.

Other Thoughts: i5 4670k @ 4.4 ghz
corsair 750 watt psu
gskill 2133 ddr 3 8gb
hyper 212 evo cooler
kignston ssd
5tb hdd space

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: GTX 780!....Runs Any game out on Ulrta at 1080p no question about that.
Stays pretty cool, Has not hit 70°C even now in June.
Powerful. This GPU can hit over 100% power if you raise it to 106%. Fast. Fast Fast. in Valley at the stock clocks the GPU core clock can hit well above 1300MHz from Nvidia Boost 2.0.

Cons: Can't blame Newegg as I go mine elsewhere. But the EVGA Box alone is not OK. No Foam, Just plastic as if they are shipping $30 headphones. Having trouble getting my promo code for watch dogs. Again not EVGA or Neweggs fault.

Other Thoughts: The Voltage is locked as are all kepler GPUs but at least EVGA has a very High quality PCB and Power design that allows the user, through EVGA Precision to get a Voltage of 1.225v if my math is correct. maybe 1.212v like most other Nvidia Kepler GPUs. I expect to hit a decent OC when i test.
Note. I really do not have to mention from whom I bought the Card,... .com....Anyway Stick to Newegg or another trusted retailer.
