The EVGA GeForce GTX 770 marks an evolution in gaming performance: an insanely fast, smooth, and whisper-quiet experience every time. The powerful NVIDIA Kepler GPU GTX 770 of 1536 cores and 2GB of GDDR5 graphics memory all work side by side to deliver awesome gaming performance. NVIDIA GPU Boost 2.0 technology pushes PC performance to new levels with precise controls. And equipped with an EVGA ACX cooler, the EVGA GeForce GTX 770 provides you with an extremely quiet and reliable gaming experience.

  • newegg EVGA ACX COOLER With a 40% increase in heatsink volume, the EVGA ACX is more efficient at dissipating heat, allowing for 15% lower GPU temperatures. A reinforcement baseplate maintains a straight PCB, and helps lower mosfet temperatures by 7% and memory by 15%. Even the fan blades are of the highest quality; with a 700% increase in strength, and 25% lower weight when compared to competitors. This makes the fans 20% more efficient by requiring lower power levels. EVGA is also using double ball bearing fans which offer a 12-year lifespan, four times longer when compared to competitors!
  • newegg KEPLER GPU ARCHITECTURE NVIDIA's Kepler GPU architecture has been designed from the ground up, not just for maximum performance in the latest DirectX 11 games, but also for optimal performance per watt. The new SMX streaming multiprocessor is twice as efficient as the prior generation, and the new geometry engine draws triangles twice as fast. The result is world-class performance and the highest image quality in an elegant, power-efficient graphics card.
  • newegg NVIDIA GPU BOOST 2.0 This brand-new technology allows gamers to push PC performance to the maximum with precise controls. GPU Boost 2.0 intelligently monitors work with advanced controls — including GPU temperature target, overclocking, and overvoltage — to ensure the GPU works at the ultimate performance.
  • newegg NVIDIA ADAPTIVE VERTICAL SYNC Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing; at low framerates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.
  • newegg NVIDIA SURROUND WITH UP TO FOUR MONITORS Nothing is as breathtaking as playing your favorite games across three monitors. At 5760x1080, the expanded field of view fully engages your peripheral vision, and provides for the most immersive experience in racing and flight simulators. Add a fourth display to keep tabs on chat, e-mail, or the web while you are gaming.
  • newegg TXAA ANTI-ALIASING Anti-aliasing helps to smooth out jagged lines in games. Existing techniques like MSAA are effective at removing jagged lines in still images, but struggle with crawling and shimmering artifacts when the player is in motion. TXAA is a new anti-aliasing mode that combines MSAA, temporal filtering, and post processing for the highest edge quality and minimal shimmering during gameplay.

1 out of 5 eggsNo more than a display adapter

Pros: The card at least displayed a desktop.

Cons: The card was nothing better than a display adapter. I wish this could have been a review of how well a GTX 770 performs, but the card never made it that far. The card could display a desktop like a display adapter, but was never recognized correctly by either Windows 7 OR Geforce Experience. I went through all the loops: uninstalling windows drivers, going through safe mode, re-seating the card, and, since the build was mostly new, reinstalling the OS for the heck of it. At this point, it's no better than on-board graphics. The card was installed and tested on multiple systems, meeting and exceeding install requirements. It was tested with older drivers as well as the most recent ones. It was still useless.

Other Thoughts: I knew the odds of a DOA or otherwise dysfunctional card were higher since I was buying refurbished but I was sure it wouldn't happen to me. I'm sure this 770 could be great, but I think it's worth investing in a new card. I'm going AMD next since it offers the best performance on a new card for the price. My last card was an nVidia EVGA card, and their products aren't bad, but I'm not sure buying refurbished hardware is worthwhile.

5 out of 5 eggsGood card but

Pros: No issues with card, faster than a 760, can run most games at 2160p, can't max out gtav though (it runs well at 1440p with most settings on very high)

Cons: Power hog, no room for overclocking, nothing in box except video card

Other Thoughts: Regret not going with 4gb 770 but this one was on sale for 35% off

4 out of 5 eggsGood Refurbished Card

Pros: -Good price on an out-of-stock (new) item that is otherwise hard to find
-Cheaper than buying a new card
-Still plays newer games with good quality
-No quality or performance issues

Cons: -Doesn't come with any cables, manuals, or driver disk (not a deal breaker for me)
-Not a whole lot of room for overclock on this model (it's just about clocked out to its peak from the factory).
-I wish it had more video memory for the newest game titles (Shadow of Mordor, GTA V) which use more video memory.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this (which is my second one, the first I bought new about 6 months ago) to upgrade my system to a dual-card SLI system. Video cards need to match pretty closely for SLI, and I figured that I would buy an identical card since the first one I purchased is great. You can play most newer games with "high" settings at 1080p and get good frame rates with a single card, but I have a 3D setup and need more power. This card in SLI fit the bill for sure, as I have been playing GTA V in 3D with all high and ultra settings with good frame rates. This card in SLI has been remarkably stable and I would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their GTX770 without breaking the bank by buying a new card. Finding refurbished ones is very difficult, and new ones are advertised at outrageous prices online.

5 out of 5 eggsBest bang for my buck

Pros: Ran perfect out of the box, no problems with this refurb.
Quiet, replaced my 550 ti and is much quieter at rest and at stress.
Powerful, ran everything MSI Kombuster could throw at it pretty well

Cons: You get the card, but only the card. No adapters, despite what the product description says. I did not need them, so it's fine.

Other Thoughts: I bought this as a heavily discounted refurb and it was a great value. I'm not sure it is worth the current list price.

This is my second refurb, I replaced a 550 ti that was also a refurb I got on Newegg, it worked well for a couple of years and so far (a couple of weeks) the 770 is running great as well.

2 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Fast, looks nice in my case.

Cons: Arrived with display errors, have tried to resolve in numerous ways, different drivers, different outputs, downclocking etc. but the warping textures and variously rgb splotches remain and now the online RMA process tells me I'm not eligible so I'll have to see what customer service says.

Other Thoughts: I realize i bought a refurbished card but refurbished still means fully functional.

Manufacturer Response:

2 out of 5 eggsSpecs dont match performance...

Pros: Good on power....looks ok....

Cons: This thing barely beats a evga geforce gtx 285 superclocked 2gb....and i mean barely.....over 1500 cuda cores for nothing....over 1000 mhz core clock for nothing.... if your comming from a 128 bit graphics card this is nice upgrade for you but dont let the numbers on this card fool returning this thing and going to the AMD R9 really upset how weak this card is....after 5 good years of my 285 kicking but this thing blows chunks.

Other Thoughts: Im a pro gamer and play World of tanks....i was getting between 75 and 85 FPS at mid settings on my 285 2 gb....this thing gets between 80 to 90 at the same settings. Nothing is bottle me. if i overclocked my 285 slightly it would match this thing...thats terribad man. I upgraded because im changing from 23 inch monitor to 29 inch ultra wide screen at 2560x1080 resolution with 21:9 aspect i caint even get 60 fps at mid settings....big let down... AMD here i come.

4 out of 5 eggsGood card - slight annoyances

Pros: Fast, price to performance is amazing, and EVGA has awesome customer service. At 1080p, you can't go wrong with this card. Most games can be easily maxed out in combination of in-game settings and nvidia's own 3D enhancements via control panel. If you're like me and don't like frame rates dipping often, then some newer games will need to have their AA turned down a little, but it's no big deal.

I was using an HIS 7950 before this, but it broke within four months of me owning it and HIS has quite possibly the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. Before that I had an EVGA GTX 480, which was a great card despite it doubling as a flame thrower and EVGA has never hassled me when it came to RMAing a card. This card easily outclasses the 7950 and is much cheaper due to the whole Bitcoin thing going on,

Cons: I've always had good experiences with refurbished stuff and, although the card worked fine, there were some annoyances.

1. The fan would sometimes make this on-going rattle and it would drive me CRAZY. I have all aftermarket fans as well as sound dampening foam in my THOR V2 case so noise means a lot to me!

2. The heatsink was slightly bent.

3. The card had some sag too.

This card ran a little hot for my taste too - 79c at load! Ouch! I know GPU Boost 2.0 targets this temperature, but that is still way out of my comfy zone. I typically don't like GPU's going past 70c, so I replaced the thermal paste with Prolima Tech PK-1 and never saw it never go above 68c. In all my years of building computers (over a decade) I don't recall ever knowing a GPU manufacturer that applied thermal paste correctly, so if you aren't doing this already then get to it!

Other Thoughts: The 2gb of memory on a 256 bus started making me have buyers remorse and I was afraid that would be the Achilles heel for this card once newer games started becoming more mainstream. The 4gb version is, more or less, snake oil because a 256 bus won't be able to utilize that much ram; even on higher resolution or multi-monitor setups. There are a few articles and benchmarks that you can read to prove this and, at the money you pay for the 4gb versions, you are not far away from a GTX 780, which is a superior card.

In the end, I ended up returning this card and getting a GTX 780, which I am much happier with. Don't get me wrong, this is a great card, but the amount of memory and bus on the Kepler GPU's makes many of the cards questionable in terms of being able to handle higher resolution textures or monitors (or both). At 1080p, it's nothing for you to worry about, but I do plan on getting a 1440p monitor soon and didn't want the GPU to choke at that resolution.
