5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: One of the fastest GPUs out right now for a fairly reasonable price. Runs all of my current games at max settings with the exception of Everquest 2, however, no card out, not even dual GX2's can run EQ2 at full settings (this means everything maxed, shadows and all).

Cons: Runs a little hotter than I would like so I purchased the Zalman GPU cooler. Dropped temps 8-10C across the board, more headroom for overclocking.

Other Thoughts: Have had this card since it's initial launch. Runs great, no problems. Using latest drivers from ATi. Get an aftermarket cooler and you'll easily be able to OC this past XTX speeds.

Pros: Besides it's Awsome performance, the thing overclocks like a dream.

Cons: Load as a jet, kind flimsy board..... And can't seam to find a game that bogs it down,(yea thats a good thing)

Other Thoughts: Newegg Rocks!!! So dose ATI

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent card

Pros: very fast card that can play any game you throw at it. seems to also be able to run with aa enabled and not suffer performance hits. plays bf2 at 1600x1200 with 6x aa no problem. and the 512 megs mean i could play doom3 on ultra settings. dvd movies look great also.

Cons: not with the card but if you run zone alarm and block the control center from connecting to the internet then it will not allow you to the overclocking section because it needs a poller service running or something. no big deal but i figured that id mention it just in case someone else had less than expected performance an was running zone alarm.

Other Thoughts: the exhaust exits the rear of the case wich is also nice. very pleased with the card and of course newegg. great service as always

4 out of 5 eggsbuy msi

Pros: good card overall, identical to ati reference i believe.

Cons: not as overclockable as my msi crossfire which seems to make overclocking in crossfire mode less stable.

Other Thoughts: i am not an expert overclocker, so i use catalyst control center. don't know the limitations of the ati utility.

2 out of 5 eggsDisapointed

Pros: Runs games about 20% better than my x850xt. Gets 5150 in 3dmark06. However it still skips a little in all 3dmark06 tests.

Cons: It was an unfortonate waste of money upgrading my x850xt. I was expecting 33% better game performance(only got about 20%).
The only reason I upgraded was for Oblivion. Playing at 1280x1024res with 4xAA and 8xAF it operates okay. I can't up the AA or AF any higher. I can't enable Temperal AA, high quality AF or Adaptive AA in oblivion. If you're getting this card for oblivion don't think about it. I wish I would have just stuck with the x850xt. With the x850xt I can play obvlivion at 1280x1024 with 2xAA and 4xAF which is three hundred dollars less. WOW, i can increase AAx2 and AFx4 which does nothing.

Other Thoughts: Computer specs:
Opteron 165(dual-core) at 2.4ghz(gets a CPU score of 2000 in 3dmark06)
2048gb of ddr433(216mhz) memory
Western Digital Raptor HD
This x1900xt
EPoX EP-9NPA3ULTRA(AWSOME motherboard, I have a few)
WAIT FOR THE X2000XT(R600). It will be VERY WORTH THE WAIT! Will be out December 2006.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Lightning fast
Stable
Cheap (relative to nvidia options)

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Could not be happier, runs at XTX clocks with almost no temp increase with stock cooling. Once i install Water this beast will go through the roof

5 out of 5 eggsgreat card, but it will kick you in the wallet.

Pros: awsome card, got about 5000+ points by itself, in 3dmark 06. (the 4400+ dosn't bench well) the fan is loud but only like 35-40 db on mine but my case cuts the noise down so i don't even notice it. unless its under a load, and max in oblivion.

Cons: driver is a bit underdeveloped, it runs ok but the only program which knows any of the current specs (fans, temp, ect.) is the catylist program but its still a great card

Other Thoughts: if i had to do it again i would get the 7900gt for 300 and get another later in sli. but im still happy with the card. (but i also built a comp around it)

4 out of 5 eggsVery powerful, VERY hot

Pros: This card rocks, handles literally everything I throw at it with ease, even at my native resolution on my Viewsonic VX2025wm of 1680x1050 with 4x AA. Simply amazing.

Cons: First one I got was semi-DOA :( It worked, but the card was bent at an aweful angle across the power regulators, and when doing anything remotely intensive it made this horrid buzzing noise, almost like it was about to throw sparks. A $xxx card shouldn't be like that, The QC must stink if they let that by. Also fan can get rather noisy under load, and temps have been 80+ degrees C. The hot air blowing out the back burned my hand.

Other Thoughts: Even tho it was a pain having to RMA my brand new card, it still gets 4 eggs because it is so darn powerful. Still looking for a replacement cooler, however both zalman's and arctic cooling's offerings have their issues - they don't blow the heat out the back of the case. AC needs to make a silencer series for this card.
