Well, ended up with a failure....

Pros: Worked well for about a month...good value for a high end card I must say!

Cons: I don't like how a thin copper-flat-pipe connects multiple RAM chips for cooling...I want to get a different heatsink that adequately cools these like I did my MD5 card of these but with the recent failure I'm skeptical with the exchange. But then again maybe it will save this card...who knows.

Other Thoughts: Died after a months use. Started seeing increased artifacts and had to get it replaced. I just got it back today (sent it month or so ago) and I can see how the heatsink is at least refurbished as it has leftover tape residue on the heatsink and scratches all over it as well.

We pay top dollar for a "brand new" card...it dies...and we get used parts put together as our replacement...kind of sad but that's business these days.

Pros: Works well and is definitely cooler than my other Powercolor that is a non-PPH. There is ALWAYS a 8-10C difference between the two and the gaming has been awesome. Crossfire working great! Love it!

Cons: Wish I would have bought 2 -PPH's instead of 1 that is and other isn't.

Other Thoughts: I'm just going to go ahead and put on custom heatsink for the non-PPH card I have for if it doesn't have to it shouldn't run at ~65C load

REPLACEMENT FAILS ALSO

Pros: 4870 good value, good GPU cooling

Cons: my first card burned out after about 2 months. Replacement lasted about 3 months. The ZeroTherm GPU cooler does an excellent job of cooling the GPU, but not the Voltage regulators. Either the air flow, or the heat sinks are inadequate. Either way, the card self destructs on a consistent basis.

Other Thoughts: FYI, I had no reason to overclock. My case is a coolmaster 830. room temp. is 65 F. My old 1900 GT fired up as a replacement. Conclusion, there is no reason this card should fail other than its defective design. I have asked Power Color to send an alternate model in replacement. I will let you know their response.
