4 out of 5 eggsworks!

Pros: cheap, works! decided to try it after reading thru' the reviews. wasn't as lucky as the last reviewer at running dual monitors in ubuntu. but it did work after some effort. win 7 picked up both monitors just fine. i like silent cards.

Cons: ? maybe the heat sink gets a little hot? that's if you consider 44°C too hot...

Other Thoughts: happy with my purchase

4 out of 5 eggsQuiet card with passable features

Pros: Silence! No fan! Seriously, no one should buy a cheap video card with a fan. The fan will be noisy and will surely die before the rest of the card. I wanted a cheap card that would drive a 1080p monitor and play bluray vids. This card suffices (and so would quite a few other cards). Not interested in playing vid games with this rig.

Cons: It could have been cheaper, but in this price range exact form and features are more important the plus or minus $5.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent card

Pros: Very nice card. Recognized immediately by Ubuntu Linux, Fedora Linux and SuSE Linux. Easy configuration! Picked up my dual monitors right away, and with a single mouse click, inside the display tool, configured them the way I wanted them!

Cons: None so far!

5 out of 5 eggsReally good bang for your buck

Pros: -Cheap
-Silent
-looks kinda cool
-Catalyst Control Center lets you optimize it

Cons: -Takes up two PCI slots with heatsink
-Can only overclock it from 600mhz to 650mhz and the memory from 400mhz to 450mhz with ATI overdrive. It could go further but ATI overdrive doesn't support it.
-I can't max out Crysis :)

Other Thoughts: I bought this to hold me over until I get enough money for a hd 5850. I am just getting into gaming and bought COD 4 as my first game. I can play COD 4 at 60+ fps at a resolution of 600X800 with shadows disabled (at 1920X1080, I get about 5-10fps). Really though, I think this card is hindered by my Sempron 140(to hold me over until I can get phenom II 965 BE) I also downloaded two games for ubuntu that were old but played very well. I really am going to like having an HD 5850 once I earn enough money.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: We love these cards where I work. They are VERY inexpensive. And for what you get (HDMI, VGA, DVI) its amazing the price they cost. I havn't had a SINGLE problem with these cards, not one problem.

Cons: Uhhh nothing.

5 out of 5 eggsit works, it's silent

Pros: Put this in an HTPC server. It works. It's silent. What a difference silence makes! And the price is unbeatable!

Cons: Not getting hardware acceleration on H.264 1080p video with newest Catalyst drivers, but since this HTPC server is headless most of the time, I didn't pursue the issue.

Other Thoughts: Download the newest Catalyst drivers from AMD ***before*** installing this card. It's hard enough getting through the Catalyst setup at 640x480, let alone trying to navigate the AMD website at that resolution.

1 out of 5 eggsCheap w/o support

Pros: Inexpensive, HD, HDMI, Crossfire.

Cons: Support from Powercolor is nonexistent. They never returned emails about the rebate I never received. If you plan on making a purchase with a rebate buy from another manufacturer.

Other Thoughts: Product was discontinued immediately after purchase.

Manufacturer Response:

I apologize for the problems you experienced with this product and our support. I can assure you that we have every intention of getting these issues resolved for you. Feel free to e-mail me directly and I'll be more than happy to try and get this situation resolved. My e-mail is hugo@powercolor.com, and be sure to reference this review. Thanks.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good

Pros: * HDMI, VGA, DVI outputs
* Low profile capable
* Large passive heatsink
* Audio over HDMI

Cons: * ATI Powerplay at HD resolution locks into UVD mode and runs at full speed
* Flaky HDMI handshaking, sometimes the audio will get forgotten as well...more an ATI issue
* No low profile bracket included

Other Thoughts: Lost the package and didn't get a rebate. Pretty good though, fairly happy with it. Have to make sure TV is powered up first before any PC activity to get proper connection.

5 out of 5 eggsDual-head and silent

Pros: Running dual-head (two displays at once), one is 1600x1200 and the other is 1920x1080 without any issues. I watched a streaming Netflix movie without issues or annoying fan noise!

Cons: None for me.

Other Thoughts: I'm not running the latest games. I have no idea how it would do with that. I have this in a Dell 9100. PCI Express 2.0 cards work in PCI Express 1.0 slots (which is what I have) although they can't take advantage of the 2.0 performance.
