Not satisfied
- Pros: Silent, overclockable
- Cons: not satisfied with perrformance and FPS benchmarks.
- Other Thoughts: I have been running several benchmark programs on my PC, and not only one but in all of them benchmark results are horrible, nearly 1/3 of the systems with the HD 4890 card, and the same CPU. (phenom II x4 955). How come? How can the results should be less than half of the comparable systems, I don't know. I also benchmarked my memory and harddriver, thinking that the problem may be them. Both are fine. they were not the problem.
I hopw I can return this thing to newegg.
Not so sure
- Pros: Plays MOST of the games in high settings
- Cons: Does NOT play all games I throw at it. Cant make Dirt 2 run . As same as BF2, BF SF and BF 2142.
Problems with dual cloned monitors because of the VERY BAD drivers that ATI gives for all 4890 s
- Other Thoughts: I upgraded from a 8800gts 320 mb and yes it is a big difference in performance. But after reading a lot in the net I realized that is not the brand but the Drivers that are provided by ATI the ones that are bad. I have read similar cases with other 4890 card brands. This means BE CAREFUL because its not that stable with all games because of the drivers. It has been frustrating for me throwing some games
Great Card
- Pros: Great video card. Plays Crysis on all very high settings (I'm a gamer). For $180, it's fairly cheap compared to the other top video cards out there.
- Cons: Doesn't support DirectX 11 which I worry about in the future.
- Other Thoughts: Yea it's a bit bulky, but what good video card isn't these days?
