5 out of 5 eggsWorks well for racing sims

Pros: Bought it for rFactor and some older racing sims, and it is great. Running at 1280x1024, 32-bit, all display options maximized, I can get 60+fps except when displaying large amounts of dust or smoke. Can overclock it 25% if needed using the included tools without problems (with my case fan at its lowest speed). It automatically slows the clock when not doing 3D, so it runs cool when not gaming. No fan noise, which is nice if you use your computer for normal applications too.

Cons: The big radiator part of the heatsink is not that well attached to the board, so I'd be wary if you transport the PC a lot. It did not include the cable and adapter shown in the picture, but since it doesn't even have a S-video output I think the picture is in error. Couldn't install the latest drivers from AMD's website, but that is more likely a software issue. Ran fine with the included drivers.

Other Thoughts: It takes up two slots (as most fanless cards do), so make sure you have the room. If you want to play the latest games do you may need something faster, but overall it is a good card for the occasional gamer who wants a quiet PC.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works, it is quiet, whee...

Pros: What do you want, it is a silent ATI 4650 video card. It works, no complaints...

Cons: The only minor issue is that sometimes the HDMI audio cuts out if the system goes to sleep, but I think this is an ATI driver issue more than a video card issue. I have two of these cards, one plugged into a Toshiba 40" TV and the other into a Sharp 46" TV, both do this sometimes. Unplugging the HDMI cable and plugging it back in always fixes it.

Other Thoughts: This is the fastest ATI video card that does not have a fan that you can buy (as of 11/09). Shame you can't get faster, but they all have fans. Oh well, for a HTPC, who cares...
