1 out of 5 eggsgarbage

Pros: Well, its a 5770. To characterize the difference in frame rates from my 8800gs to this card as dramatic would be an understatement, when it works...

Cons: It's garbage..... I bought a HD AX5770 which is very similar to this product.... A massive upgrade from my NVidia 8800gs 384mb and it has been the most regrettable purchase of my life.... It locks up playing SC2, it has sudden and very brief frame rate drops. Problems I didn't have when I had my 8800GS. The frame rates when playing other games seem fine, then a sudden freeze, then back to normal.... Normally the sign of a bad power supply, but I emailed them before I bought their card and they said my power supply was fine.

Other Thoughts: The frame rates are considerably better from my 8800GS to this product (when it works), but the lack of technical support is disturbing. I have emailed them repeatedly... They have no solutions and don't seem to know how to reply to emails. If I didn't have problems with my 8800gs, how could the problem be anything more than their card? I'm glad the rest of you are enjoying yours because this is garbage. I purchased their product because it was a massive and cost effective upgrade from my old card. I was also supposed to receive a $30 rebate, but it takes up to 2 months to get the rebate, plus its USD which means its more like 28.50 CDN. When it works, i'm sure it'll be great for you, otherwise you'll be like me and totally hosed.

Manufacturer Response:

What e-mail are you contacting us at? Our primary one that you will get a response from is, or you can e-mail me directly as well at Either way I apologize for the problems you're having. The problems you're describing could very well be caused by drivers. A lot of times the newer drivers aren't always the best ones. With the 5000 series of cards the Catalyst 11.1's have been good drivers, so you might want to try those. You also need to make sure that ALL previous drivers are completely uninstalled from the system (and this includes old NV drivers). You can try running benchmarks (such as 3Dmark Vantage) or stress tests like FurMark to test your hardware. If those run okay then the problems might be caused by specific games.

5 out of 5 eggssingle slot 5700 series radeon - spot on

Pros: Width, fit's securely and makes working with nearby lanes easy without the feeling your motherboard is going to break, opportunities for custom cooling solutions by DIY's like me. it's a 5770 series radeon with crossfire support. It's not an nVida.
Fan noise is not nearly as bad as reviewers lead me to believe, even with latest q3 2010 software in higher end graphic configurations. 1 gig of ddr-5 is plenty.

Cons: No pretty copper pipes, Vapox chillers, and the ability to overclock as an additional choice in the product line, it's 75 bones higher in cost than comparable 5770s, it's fan blows hot air into case instead of ducting air back to the outside. It's the only higher end graphic card that allows use for a single width lane. The parent company's technolgy is licensed by AMD and they (AMD) didn't buy out Nvida instead.

Other Thoughts: Since I prefer a single monitor, and find eyefinity multi monitor setups annoying at desktop viewing distance, this card is plenty. For those that have to have 2 DVI connectors know up front that this has only one DVI output on this card, but has HDMI support and a full sized display port connect output. 5 eggs- isn't it trick or treat season? --- full sized candy bars *your favorite kind* at my house this year. Spend your coin on more RAM, or an SSD after buying this card.

4 out of 5 eggsofficial complaint - sort of - part 2

Pros: See previous post. I just connected my TV and it is beautiful. I love it when technology makes complex things seem simple. No real complaints.

Cons: See previous post.

Other Thoughts: Newegg took care of my claim, after UPS recognized my complaint as valid. Kudos to Newegg:>

4 out of 5 eggsFormal complaint - sort of

Pros: Painless hardware install, slightly annoying driver install(more in other, since it is not really a con).. and for a dated system like mine (Athlon X2 4200+ 2.2, 6gb old ram, GeForce 8600gts) it was a good upgrade for the price.
Long story short, I can play Final Fantasy 14 now.. albeit on low settings and the official benchmark moved me from 800(below minimum requirements) to 1600 ( low performance). Next step... better motherboard and processor and it will sprout wings.
Short version, definitely worth buying.

Cons: The fan is a little loud, but given what it has to work with it is just nitpicking.

Other Thoughts: CD provided transfers you to an online install.. not exactly a con.. but when I get a CD, I want to be able to install them without the need to connect to the internet. What if for some reason I had no access to it... /sigh very minor, but still annoying

UPS drivers in Chicago... I am filing a complaint tomorrow. I was waiting in front of my house(yes.. and I ordered pizza too) because the rep told me driver will be coming. I saw a truck in the distance, got excited and then it vanished. I check UPS tracker: 'Customer was not available on 1st attempt'. I eventually picked it up from the UPS center. When I mentioned the story to the girl at UPS center, she was not surprised at all. Call Mike, she said..
UPS... never again
