2 out of 5 eggsNot *that* future proof

Pros: - Inexpensive
- Crossfire capable
- relatively low power consumption

Cons: - Not that *future* proof (when the future is only year after)
- Drivers were meh at the beginning

Other Thoughts: It was a cheap way to do crossfire but sadly it didn't matter. Tons of lag while playing certain games at normal settings, still lag while in low settings. Some games drop from 60fps to 1fps... not good.

Manufacturer Response:

The lag you are experiencing may be an issue with Micro-Stutter. Recently AMD has acknowledged this even though the issue has been around for some time already.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Has run everything I throw at it just fine, really food FPS considering the low price. However I'm a casual gamer and not trying to push limits or overclock anything. So far I've been running the same card for over a year and it's been great. No problems to speak of if you let it run as it's supposed to.

Cons: The case is a little flimsy, but as long as you don't try hitting it with a hammer to get it in place I think you'll be alright...

5 out of 5 eggsNo complaints.

Pros: Price was right. Works fine.

Cons: None really. For the price the power is acceptable.

Other Thoughts: I was slightly disappointed that I couldn't automatically push all of my games up to their max video settings but like I said, I am satisfied considering the price.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Card

Pros: Solid Card. Handles just about anything I throw at it. Overclocks well.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I made the switch to ATI years ago when nVidea's 9xxx series kept frying on me.

4 out of 5 eggsTouchy

Pros: Performance and looks are great.

Cons: Doesn't stay hooked in place very well. I have to push on it every 2 months or it stops working because it is loose.

Manufacturer Response:

The card shouldn't move from its place if it is properly installed. You may also be experiencing an issue with the chassis you are using where vibrations from all the fans in the system cause this to occur. If you would like, please feel free to contact me directly at jgaray@powercolor.com so that we may discuss this further.

Thank you,

Jonathan

Pros: For the price? This gpu has quite a bang for it's buck

Cons: That I don't have 2?

Other Thoughts: It's not crazy top of the line, like I can't run Skyrim on ultra graphics, but I'm pretty pleased with this puppy.

1 out of 5 eggsFine until it quit

Pros: Easy to install, worked okay.

Cons: After awhile, it doesn't output any more video. Which is sort of a problem in my eyes...

Other Thoughts: It was fine while it lasted, although it didn't deliver quite as much performance as I had hoped, it was all around a good card, until one day it just didn't output video anymore. The fan still spins, just no more video. I'm a computer technician, professionally, (although I usually don't deal with these types of problems), and I've tried everything I know. The card is seated correctly, all the other components are working, the PCI connection is good, there's no obvious sign of damage of any kind, my OS says everything is peachy, just no video. It worked for about 9 months, which I guess is as much as I'm supposed to expect nowadays, but I'm still pretty disappointed.

Manufacturer Response:

I apologize for the issues you've encountered with our product. Please contact me directly at jgaray@powercolor.com so that I can help resolve this for you.

Thank you,

Jonathan

4 out of 5 eggsExceptional Performing GPU

Pros: Inexpensive, Reliable, Quiet

Single 6 pin connector. Crossfired, Uningine 60FPS moderate tesselation, locked and loaded

Plays nearly every game 60 FPS in crossfire. Some of the best price performance I've ever seen across DX9/10 platforms, and spritely DX11 power.

Plays Crysis on one card.

Easily overclocked ~10%. AMD Overdrive is not the only method!

Cons: 80C on tough days. Aftermarket cooling solves this

Other Thoughts: This was the least expensive board I could find about 1 1/2 years ago. Today I run two of these with Arctic cooling, and I have not a problem 850/1100 24/7. Such a quiet and powerful combination! Reasonable power requirements, second card will run turned off until you need it ;-)

1 out of 5 eggsNever Buying PowerColor Again

Pros: When it's working, I have no problems running multiple games at their highest settings.

Cons: This card constantly crashes. I've checked the PSU to see if it's getting the right amount of power (modular PSU came in handy, so I know it's not the cable/slot). Looked at the motherboard and BIOS settings to see if there's a problem there. I've got an old Radeon series that works just fine, but doesn't perform at the 6850 levels. This card often prevents my comp from booting, and I occasionally have to change PCI slots to reset the thing, which is mega annoying. At random, the card will crash, regardless of gameplay, flash usage, or just sitting there an looking at my monitor. Highly unpredictable. Do not buy this product (it's out of stock anyway... Surprise!), or any other PowerColor manufactures.

Other Thoughts: Can't wait to get that commiseration reply from 'Jonathan.' Gonna head this off at the pass: don't bother.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello and thanks for noticing my previous replies. While I understand that you are not happy with our product, I can certainly help you out with what you've been experiencing. I'm not sure what you have already done aside from testing another video card, but if you can email me directly at jgaray@powercolor.com and refer to your post here, I'll be glad to help!

- Jonathan.
