1 out of 5 eggsTerrible Card

Pros: None

Cons: No software support whatsoever from PowerColor on a faulty card. I learned to avoid this brand the hard way. Spend the few extra $ on a card from a reliable manuf.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Card, Great Screen image - with a "real" 3-year warrenty

Pros: Rec'd this card as an RMA from Powercolor frankly, as I had purchased in the day, a Powercolor AX5770 Evolution, and btw, what makes it an Evolution, is that it had the onboard HydralogiX chipset, which was great, in that it would allow, the evil-Nvidia (and overall, we luv:-)<3, Nvidia), however, their Driver override, for no-no-no PhysX, when sensing an AMD product is Evil!),..so, short story, we had that card for like 2+ years of "good use" in tandem with an EVGA 460GTX (also "great" card, though EVGA's poke you-in-the-eye and make fun of your Mom-"non-customer service" is not so hot),...(or sometimes HD5850 and ohh-la-la!, that is a HOT-FUN, combo, and no complaints, but due to Powercolor's insane 3 years warranty, it was RMA'd via Powercolor, for an upgrade, due to scarcity of the unique Evolution card,...so, thank you Powercolor

Cons: What emerges from the below comments, both the intial glowingly good, and then the change at a few months ago, to virtually all bad, is either not so clever/subtle negative comments "plants" from the AMD/Powercolor competition, OR perhaps, is based in our experience, with Overclocking this card, for grins and giggles, and also maxing out benchmark scores on raining afternoons. First, the card can be overclocked using either OVerdrive or Catalyst COntrol Center, until it will glow cherry red, and probably catch fire, but we stopped at "cherry red",...or even, after one experience, after the initial development of the normal progression of AMD video artifacts and screen glitches, etc. that predictably develop when pushing AMD products, too far. Remember - NOTE those core and video clock's Ghz number in OD/CCC, and in the future - don't exceed!

Other Thoughts: So, in short, this is an amazing card in terms of pure color rendition on screen, even our Nvidia 670 GTX cannot come close, and it costs twice the price, also in terms of the true playability measures, that never enter such marketing propaganda as the various benchmarks and game FPS comparisons that are all launched in the time a particular card is "on the shelf" via internet,...this one has smooth deep color, smooth screen rendition, and "keeps up" with any tessellation, screen explosions and story points, perfectly, every time and in every game, period. HOWEVER< for those with a "full throttle or/and die" approach to Overclocking video, once they are shown how,...this is not the card, for you, since it has no safety limit. So, either go up to the edge with a light hand, or don't go near "the edge at all" - Enjoy!

2 out of 5 eggsDied after 1.5 years

Pros: Was cheap, worked well for about a year and a half

Cons: One of the cards caught on fire, the other just died, both within the same month. Luckily no other components were damaged in the process.

Other Thoughts: Gets two stars just because the cards are cheap and powercolor specifically states no waranty. This was to be expected I guess...

Manufacturer Response:

For your specific situation, please send us a copy of your invoice on both of your cards, and a picture of your burned card as we may be able to still assist you. Regarding your non-burned card, that one seems like it can be replaced through our standard RMA process. You may contact us via email at usa@powercolor.com or by phone at 626-330-4700.

1 out of 5 eggsPitiful

Pros: WHEN it works...it works well

Cons: First card DOA, second card has random black screens forcing me to hard-reboot. Unacceptable. All software/firmware is up to date and I still have problems. Sending in for my SECOND RMA in less that a year..

Doubt I will ever buy a Powercolor product again.

Manufacturer Response:

I apologize for the issues you've been encountering with our product. Please contact me directly at jgaray@powercolor.com so that I may directly assist you.

2 out of 5 eggsJunk Card

Pros: This card was a good upgrade from my nVidia 250 GTS. It ran games like BF3 at a higher FPS and PSX emulation was a lot better.

Cons: This card overheats all the time and is very junky. After putting it in my system my computer has crashed many of times on games like SC2. With my old card I could play SC2 with no problems, but with this card SC2 crashes after about 2 games if I run it on medium graphics when the other card ran high.

Also (not sure if it is completely related) BFBC2 now crashes without fail.

Other Thoughts: Card has the power it promises, but overheats so easily it isn't even worth it. I would suggest getting an ASUS 6870 instead of this card. (I am going to buy the 6870 in the near future and try it out)

Manufacturer Response:

I apologize for the issues you've encountered with this card. Please contact me at jgaray@powercolor.com so that I may be able to assist you.

Thank you,

Jonathan

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: This card is quite and performs great.

Cons: Runs hot but may just be my setup, runs ~55c idle and ~75c under load.

Other Thoughts: I saw that this card had some pretty bad reviews and decided I'd take a chance and get it anyways. Installed the card and it fired right up no problems at all. I got it to replace a 4670 and it is a HUGE difference. I am very pleased with my purchase.

1 out of 5 eggsBUYER BEWARE!!!

Pros: Cheapest Price 6870

Cons: 140.00$ for a paperweight is not economical

Other Thoughts: Had the card for about 1 month before it quit rendering video. I did the usual RMA (the 6000 series has VIP service, supposedly). It took about 15$ and 4 weeks to get it there and back from Florida. Powercolor gives little to no information during the process. I will not take a chance on them again. Card now performs, but not perfect in any way. Powercolor does not pretend to care. Also, the plastic shroud is now devoid of any logo or markings. Not a big deal, but the product returned to me like they crapped it into a shoebox. Wish I could include pics...

Manufacturer Response:

I do apologize for any inconvenience you may have had with your RMA process. Our RMA procedure follows industry standards and the procedure that you followed is the same as all of our other customers. In regards to the VIP service, we do indeed process these out quickly. However, whenever we are out of inventory, we will not be able fulfill these as quickly as we would like which would end up taking longer than expected.

We at PowerColor do care about all of our customers and we strive for customer satisfaction. If you have any other concerns, you may contact me directly at jgaray@powercolor.com.

Thank you,

Jonathan

1 out of 5 eggsBoth Dead

Pros: The fan was extremely quiet.

Cons: I literally owned these cards for 10 hours and one has died and the other is artifact horribly. going to return them and never buying a powercolor card ever again.

Other Thoughts: spend a little more and buy sapphire people that actually now how to build cards.

Manufacturer Response:

I do apologize for the issues you have encountered with our cards. We at PowerColor stand behind our products and customer service is our primary goal here. If you would like, you may contact me directly at jgaray@powercolor.com so that we may resolve your specific issue you've encountered with your cards.
