4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent preformance at a budget price. The fastest thing to get at $180 for me. Runs every game including Crysis at very high settings at 1440x900.

Cons: Will not overclock. I get crashing with every program I try no matter how small the adjustment is.

Other Thoughts: Will buy something else next time for overclockability.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Price - Low
Performance - High
Power Consumption - Low

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Not sure why others are having a difficult time overclocking. I have it OC with GPU Clock = 765MHz and Memory Clock = 1125MHz. CCC 3D Application Settings: All settings on highest quality. Also enabled Triple buffering. BFBC2 runs great!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome deal!!

Pros: This is a great card and I would recommend it. I like that the PCI cable mount on the rear of the card instead of the side it makes for a clean install. It is overclocked at 840/1300 so that is pretty sweet.

Cons: None that I can think of.

4 out of 5 eggsThought I had bad cards

Pros: I'm not a big overclocker so I haven't tried on these yet.
Very quiet..

Cons: I had a hard time with 10.12 drivers. I had to uninstall and use driver cleaner to make sure all the drivers were completely removed.

Other Thoughts: I know a few said that they tried several drivers. I suggest that you completely remove the drivers instead of overwriting. I would also suggest using Driver Cleaner as well. I had a lot of issue with 10.12's with these cards. I also had a lot of issues with my 5770's and the 10.12's prior to installing the 5850's. I had to go back to 10.11's on both occasions but finally went back to 10.6's because those have been the best all around for my system. Both times I though I had defective cards. I've been running great ever since.

5 out of 5 eggsGood price/perfomance

Pros: Good price, $170, compared to the one I purchased ($300) when these cards were new.

Fan is a lot larger than the stock model and quieter. Temperatures are lower than on stock model, as well.

Running two of these cards in Crossfire yields great performance in games.

Cons: None, really.

Crossfire bridge not included, but I had one with my other card.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a cheap way to improve a current 5850 system, this is a great deal.

5 out of 5 eggsAHHH! They sold out! Would buy MORE!

Pros: Cheap. Runs cool. 37c auto fan (21%) and 35c max fan for idle. 55c at max load with normal voltage and auto fan. Overclocks ok, at regular voltage. 800 core and 1200 memory for me. Using Trixx, stable at 1.25 voltage, 960 core and 1200 memory. With full load, max fan, and at 1.25v, temps peak at 61c. Shorter then the 4850 it replaced and MUCH cooler. The components that I can see look solid.

Cons: OUT OF STOCK! Or least they are at the time of this review. As others have stated, the cooler has spots for another set of heat pipes, but these would not have extended far past the copper contact plate anyways. Not that I would turn down extra cooling, just not worried about the loss of the extra pipes.

Other Thoughts: Wasn't expecting to be able to tweak the voltage so easily. Cooler works better then I thought it would. Was worried about the height of the heat pipes due to a 120mm fan in the side panel, but made it with like 6mm space between. Have used Powercolor cards before and actually like them better then Sapphire. Just avoid the half memory versions of their cards. Most problems that arise for their cards seem to be poor drivers (AMDs fault) or poor PSU choices.

1 out of 5 eggsWish I had better luck

Pros: Smaller then the other 5850.

Cons: If just wish I had good luck like most of you here. When I received my card and installed it. First sign of problem was screen shutting down and getting a message saying video has recover from critial error like 5x just opening up Newegg website. I made sure I had the latest bios as well. After a complete black out, I had to turn off my computer. Boot it back up and system just hangs. My other XFX 5850 which I was going to crossfirex it with works well by itself. Just wont boot up my system with this video card in it.

Other Thoughts: Smaller then other 5850, looks cool~ wish I had better luck.

Manufacturer Response:

Please contact me and I'll try and help you out directly. My e-mail is I'd love to try and help you troubleshoot this. Thanks.

5 out of 5 eggsBest bang for your buck!

Pros: Price for performance and size, can't beat it. Runs games really nice at high and ultra settings real smooth ni hickups, haven't had the need to overclock yet. Worked right out of the box and easy installation of drivers. Efficient cooling even at 100% fan speed. plus FREE shipping!

Cons: Ran out of stock should have bought 2.

Other Thoughts: Highly recommended if your looking for an upgrade on a budget. This replaced an old 8800 ultra. Now using 32inch hd monitor. No regrets! Thanks Newegg for the great deal and free shipping!

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful 5850 - Purchased Two

Pros: Very solid card. Not sure why many are having problems overclocking. Could be other issues with their systems, like quality/Type of Mother Bd., Power Supply, Cooling, etc. Running 800Mhz Core 1175 Memory which is on par with most other 5850's. Solid performer at these speeds, running numerous times through 3D Mark Vantage and playing COD Black OPS for hours. 3D Mark Vantage Crossfire Score is 21,500 running in a ASRock 890FX Deluxe4, X4 965@4.0Ghz processor, Gskill 8GB running @ 1666mhz with 7-8-7-20 timings.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I was running two 5770's in crossfire prior to this purchase. When I saw the price of $170 for a 5850 I jumped on it and purchased two. In crossfire, they have been totally stable and very fast. Very Satisfied!
