2 out of 5 eggsworked great, at first..

Pros: inexpensive card.

Cons: lost sound after a few months.

Other Thoughts: I will be replacing this card, and sending it in for warranty repair. upon receiving the replacement, I will either sell it, or throw it in a different PC or keep as a spare. not having sound on a new build sucks!

5 out of 5 eggsR9 270x, you're the true hero.

Pros: -Fantastic cooler.
-Shroud is metal, not plastic
-Build quality is top notch

Cons: -Card is not quite prepared for gaming over 1080p
-Only has a 2GB version

Other Thoughts: This R9 270x is an absolute workhorse in every sense of the word. Hold on tight.

This card comes in standard at 1060/1425 clock speeds. A lot of people shrug PowerColor off as an offbrand or sub-par compared to bigger names like XFX and MSI. They're wrong. Dead wrong.

This card has been chugging away at 1150/1575 clock speeds since the day I got it in 2014 and the card is still living without a single issue and barely breaks 70c on load. I don't know if I just keep getting good cards, but my PowerColor 4850 before this one was also overclocked to hell and back and ran completely stable for the 2-3 years I had that card as well (it's still alive and kicking in a parts box actually). If you want a performance card, I will absolutely recommend PowerColor as a brand that will stay stable above factory clock speeds.

It's played everything thrown at it, 1680x1050 or 1080P resolutions and will usually push high settings at 40-60FPS. On older games like CS:Source, Quake 4, Borderlands 1, you will consistently stay above 60FPS.

I am writing this review as I am now replacing this card. It has sat, un-phased by whatever I've thrown at it for almost 2 years now. It has far and above been the best GPU purchase in terms of price/performance for a budget gaming rig. I would recommend this for anyone looking at a decent budget card at this point as it's dated but still plenty powerful for Fallout 4 and the new Battlefront.

1 out of 5 eggsDONT BUY!

Pros: GREAT PRICE... to good to be any good, unfortunately =(

Cons: worked great for about 2 weeks then it started giving me random game crashes and freezes. contacted power color RMA department and sent in my card, got it back in a week and a half and same problem they did not fix anything. I'm already running my system with another graphics card and i have no problems, its only this card that is the problem. will be sending them this card for a second RMA or maybe more, until they fix the problem.

Other Thoughts: power color has lost a life long PC enthusiast customer. from now on I will avoid their products. I suggest other people reading this do the same, apparently power color is known online for low quality products that don't work. learn from my experience and don't buy power color.
wish i had my money back.

1 out of 5 eggsStopped working after a few months

Pros: This was a great entry level gamer card, it played most everything at high settings.

Cons: Not sure what happened, but it just stopped working. I had to resort to onboard Intel HD GFX.

Also the card is out of NEs return warranty. And when I try to register at PowerColors site to start the RMA process, it does not let me complete Registration .. "Please agree the permission" .. I DID CHECKBOX AGREE!!!

Other Thoughts: I hope PowerColor support sees this review so I can get the RMA process started.

1 out of 5 eggsnot good

Pros: cheap and powerful while it worked

Cons: started out good the first week and then began to BSOD for no reason , over the course of one month computer crashes and total computer freeze became more common until today that i write this review because i just had it freeze up on me 4 times today two during game play and two more just surfing the web. broke down in less than a month. not worth the money not worth the hassle

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Graphics Card So Far

Pros: Great Price
Nice build quality and has a great looking backplate
Looks nice and love the red & black color scheme
Plays games at 1080p flawlessly

Cons: None yet. Will update later, after a few months of usage.

Other Thoughts: Was hesitant about buying a PowerColor graphics card, as I have always bought XFX or Sapphire AMD cards. Did alot of research on this card and finally decided to pull the trigger and buy it. The price was right, specially since my build budget was tight. I wanted decent performance and a backplate. And so far this card has delivered :)

5 out of 5 eggsGood performance:price

Pros: Im impressed with the performance considering its an economical card. Im running a 29" 2560x1080 monitor and this little card runs most games on high to max settings(Titanfall, GW2, WoW, Borderlands2, etc)

Cons: none at this price

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget Card

Pros: Essentially everything.
Good performance handles nearly every game and application i've thrown at it with ease seemingly.

Cons: The initial Card i recieved was actually faulty.
It does occasionally take some time to recognize the monitors.

Other Thoughts: Would definately recommend this card.
It is kind of a bummer that ATI is generally slower with drivers than Nvidia seems to be however for the budget and handling in most games this is a perfectly fine card.

4 out of 5 eggsPowercolor R9 270x

Pros: I built a custom Ibuypower in August: Stats as follows:

Chimera 4-FX
AMD FX 8350 OC to 4.52GHZ
Asetek 550 Liquid cooling
AMD Radeon R9 270X Powercolor x2 Crossfired
Gskil Ripjaw 16gig 1866
Gigabyte 990FX UDA 3
Corsair 850watt gold PSU full modular
and a whole bunch of other stuff

Cons: I would have liked to go with a Nvidia/Intel build but would have gone way over budget. AMD build was a better option for the price and the performance is solid. My 3D rating in Passmark is 5386, but my overall score was 3670 which is pretty bad for what I paid to have this system built.

Other Thoughts: Great cards for the price, I have them overclocked using MSI Afterburner: Core clock at 1140 and Memory Clock at 1500, stable. No problems running any games on max settings. Crysis series, Murdered:Soul Suspect, Farcry Series, Skyrim,

1 out of 5 eggsProblems right out of the box

Pros: Specs seem good, many people have had luck with this card.

Cons: Unfortunatly I had problems right out of the box with this card. Naturally its past the RMA period with newegg because I didn't start the PC build right away so I'm stuck sitting on this card until I have time to figure out what to do with it, where to send it, etc. Fustrating...

Other Thoughts: I would of picked an nvidea, but this was part of a bundle. My last handful of expereances with ATI products in general havent been great. Lesson Learnt.
