5 out of 5 eggsSorry for someones loss

Pros: I got this card as an open box purchase for a reduced price of $147.99 and it is an awesome card. The weird thing was when I opened the box to inspect the contents, the driver disk was not there (NOT A PROBLEM) instead to my surprise , I received someone's copy of CRYSIS 2 retail disk. I don't need it Because I own it on Origin. But it was a weird surprise none the less. I wish there was a way to get the disk back to the original owner but not that I can think of.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Just goes to show that open box purchases are not inspected. They are just that ...Open Box.. returned for refund .. that's it

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This GPU came with a combo package i bought and I gotta say, very impressed. Runs BF4 at 1080p at 80FPS. Awesome buy.

Cons: Fans are a little loud at full load but not docking an egg for that, it's really no concern for me. Just thought I would mention it for those who like a quite system.

2 out of 5 eggsGood Card

Pros: It ran all my games as i expected it to. 60+ FPS Guildwars 2 all highest, AC 3 all highest no issues, Farcry 3 All highest no issues, Titanfall all highest no issues, BF 4 all highest no issues. First time in 3 years all 117 of my games can be played on All Highest settings. I was quite pleased

Cons: Defective on the first go. Tried for a month to trouble shoot it blaming drivers, or other hardware in the machine, or windows. This was not the case. Monitors basically do not detect a signal on system boot or wake up for no apparent reason. Swapped out to a different card (my old 5750) and it seems to be fine. Sent the card back to the manufacturer.

Other Thoughts: This would've been the perfect card if it hadn't had me wracking my brains over the issues for a whole a month trying to figure out why my monitors would not detect a signal causing me extra work.

When i get a good card that works as it should I'll update my rating if I can. That being said it's not a bad card. It's just that my card had some problem. though till i can try a new one from the manufacturer i can't really recommend the card.

Manufacturer Response:

This is Raymond from PowerColor. We apologize for the issue with the card, we will be investigating the card once we get it. Please email me the RMA number and I will look into.

Best Regards,

4 out of 5 eggsGood cards

Pros: Solid cards
Backplate is very nice
Feel very solid in construction.
Relatively quiet fans

Cons: Can't seem to get these OC'd at all without experiencing some Bsod or driver crashes. Even very minor OCing causes these issues. Problem not replicated at clock speeds.

Other Thoughts: Not a bad card at all for the price, runs just fine at base clocks as long as not attempted to OC.

1 out of 5 eggsCheap knockoff, spend $20 more and get a decent brand

Pros: Since I hit my order limit on the good cards (Gigabyte and Sapphire) I was able to buy these cheap cards.

They came with a free "$60" gift (can be bought for $20)...

To their credit, the cards look really meaty and sturdy and also had a back plate to disperse heat.

Cons: Horrible cooling system, cards run much hotter than all other cards. The Gigabyte windforce have 3 fans and can sit at 60% fan speed while maintaining a great temperature. These PowerColor's have to run at 100% just to get CLOSE to their proper temperature.

Cards constantly cause weird issues and crashing, I have 10 other cards and none of them have had a single issue, all of them are R9 270x.

Both rigs running PowerColor's have been awful.

One card came with a bent pin, causing the PCI plug not to go in. I had to carefully bend the pin back so that the plug could go in... This was a factory defect, and not really acceptable IMO.

Other Thoughts: Thank goodness for New Egg's return support. I ordered 4 new GB Windforce cards and will be RMA'ing these PowerColor's back to where they came from.

I don't even feel bad sending back the $60 gift, these cards are THAT BAD.

5 out of 5 eggsCheap and a Good Performer

Pros: * Cheaper than Nvidia for similar performance (close to GTX760)
* Got it on sale
* Runs BF4 on High at 60 FPS+

Cons: * None so far, runs really well

Other Thoughts: I got BF4 and tried to run it on my 3.5 year old rig. I could run it alright on Low settings, but any higher was less than 10 FPS. It was okay for a while, but would occasionally stutter down in FPS in some heavier fights. So I started researching a card that could stretch the life of my system.

Originally I wanted to stay with an nvidia card, but kept seeing the new R9 cards running so close and cheaper than the nvidia cards.
The 270X was running neck and neck with the GTX760 and was a good $50-70 cheaper. Eventually that sealed it.

If you're looking for a good midrange card that can run all the modern games well, this is a great choice.
