2 out of 5 eggsDecent GPU but...

Pros: Able to run games at high setting for the most part

Cons: This card is really loud, not to mention all the trouble I have with it.
I got this card around christmas, and it took about a week to actually get it working. When it was finally set up I was really pleased with how well it was running Fallout 4 and some other games. About a month or two later I started having trouble. I would be playing a game (the first time it happened was in borderlands 2) and my PC would crash and have multicolored vertical lines down the screen. I tried and tried to fix this issue and sometimes it would stop for periods of time, but the problem kept coming back. By now, it is too late for a return, and my 150$ is basically down the drain. There isn't a whole lot I can do at this point. Thanks.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend testing it many times and making sure to replace it if any sort of flukes occur. Be careful with this card.

4 out of 5 eggsSeemed nice but wasnt Win10 compatible

Pros: When it worked it was fast, quiet, and low power considering

Cons: No Win10 drivers/ Not Win10 compatible
Running with 8.1 drivers on Windows 10 in comp mode gave lots of GSOD (Gray Screen of Death) and WSOD (White Screen of Death) lockups. Requiring hard reset to recover system, which then caused some HD corruption.
Also had to turn off all the hardware acceleration in browsers

Other Thoughts: So I used neweggs hassle free return policy, sure it cost me $16ish but at least im not stuck with it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card with decent performance and stays cool.

Pros: Good priced card that performs well. 3dMark testing gave me scores that were in the lower middle compared to other R9-270. Overclocking results were good. I was able to take the GPU clock up to 990 and the memory to 1500 and had not stability issues. I am sure I could have went a little higher. Only had to boost fan settings slightly with Afterburner to keep the card cool.

Cons: The back plate prevented the card from seating properly in the PCI Express slot. I suspect that was causing some of the issues I have seen on the reviews of this product. You need a good connection and if the card is not properly seated in the PCI Express slot, you are going to have problems that mimic memory and GPU defects - random characters, lines on screen, etc....

Other Thoughts: Bought this as open box at an excellent price. I was reading the reviews and suspected some folks were returning cards that were not defective and other issues were causing problems. The card I received did not seat correctly in the PCI Express slot because of the back plate. When I first installed and booted the system, I got some random screen problems and at even a blue screen. I removed the card, took off the back plate, made some adjustments by bending and then got a good fit with the card properly seated. Card has been working great and even tests with overclocking showed a very stable card with good performance.

OB buy for under $100 - super deal. Thanks to whoever returned this card because I got an exceptional bargain :)

5 out of 5 eggsbeen very good to me

Pros: -solid performance
-fan is quiet at <50% and cools very well (have run MGS5, FO4, others without ever putting fan >50%
-very good deal when buying openbox or refurb
-have had over a year and it doesn't feel dated yet, has run MGS5, FO4, GTA5, all at max settings (minus MSAA and few others i don't use) with 1080 resolution and gives me >30fps easy

Cons: -$140? seems a bit high to me, got this end of 2014 and paid less than that
- difficult to clean dust out of

Other Thoughts: buy it if you find one that is a refurb or open box or if sale price is <$110
benchmark is about the same as 270x, wouldn't spend any extra $ for the x, this'll do.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Card for Cheap!

Pros: -Got it on sale for $109 not counting the $20 MIR
-Works fine so far. Been about 4 weeks.
-I gave it 4 stars, but should be 4.5.

Cons: -A little noisy when running games, but that's to be expected with lesser name brands.

Other Thoughts: -I recieved an email saying they never recieved my MIR and I should resend it..... but how can I resend it if I only have 1 UPC? No biggie since the card was already cheap enough to begin with.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for the Money

Pros: After the rebate $129 is not bad for this card. It performs well, seems to run cool. Plays my entire Steam Library

Cons: The included disk installed AMD catalyst software, and supposedly the driver? Well that didn't work. I had to get the Radeon R9-270 driver online online from AMD. After getting the latest software, then a reboot. Card started working perfectly

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible

Pros: The backplate

Cons: Everything

Other Thoughts: It worked for an hour or two, then it started giving me all sorts of colored screens and freezing. Sent it back and got a refund. I would not recommend this. If you do buy it make sure to download msi afterburner if not you will fry the card it literally needs you to kick start the fans.

3 out of 5 eggsDefective on arrival

Pros: Card worked perfect just long enough for me to destroy the original packaging for the rebate.

Cons: It's a defective GPU. I'm getting vertical/horizontal video crashes on sporadic occasions anywhere from intense gaming to watching youtube videos. I've troubleshooted nigh on everything, each piece of hardware, updating or rolling back drivers, etc. The problem remains. I put back my old GeForce GTX 650 Ti and I haven't had a problem yet. This can be expected, but the worst part of it was, if you manage to get through all the "code error"s on their site, work through data mining (Required to sign up as a "VIP" before you can start the RMA process) they force you to do, there is a chance that the serial number you have isn't even registered with their database.

Other Thoughts: UPDATE 1/6/2016

I have received a response from Powercolor within 2 days and they have accepted the S/N I gave them in an e-mail. They sent out another e-mail confirming the RMA number and gave me shipping information. I have updated my rating accordingly.

Once the card has been returned to me and it is tested out thoroughly, I will update the review again.
