4 out of 5 eggsNice GPU. after a little trouble

Pros: Runs most any game on ultra settings.works really well with Oculus Rift. so far i love it. runs nice and cool.

Cons: -its a bit loud. but i play with headphones so that doesn't really matter to me.
-PowerColor...

Other Thoughts: i initially got a "bad card", would bosd my comp when taking any sort of load. talked with PowerColor support for about 2 weeks on ways to fix it and troubleshoot it. they were helpful and responsive. but they instructed me to upgrade the bios along with instructions on how to do it. the bios update rendered my card inoperable. THEY MADE ME PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT!!! that really got me mad. so only concern here would be PowerColor.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding GPU

Pros: Card runs very cool and quiet, I can overclock it to 1200mhz core and with the fan at 60% it stays around 72c under full load and is still quiet.

Cons: None other than it takes up 3 slots but I do not mind since the cooler is awesome.

Other Thoughts: To the guy complaining about temps and noise... you probably have poor case airflow and and a very cramped tower. You cant blame the cards cooing on a shoddy setup.

2 out of 5 eggsUnhappy

Pros: It's a 290X
temps 74c under full load for hours on end

Cons: Horrible Fan rattle, $500 card with .10 cent fans.
It is so bloody loud and im sure i will have 100% failure within a year.

The PCS+ cooling system is quite poor and i was not at all impressed and it also takes 3 full slots on my board unlike any other 290X on the market that only use 2.5 slots.

Other Thoughts: Buy another brand, the warranty here is also well below industry standards.

Garbage build quality
The fan are terrible and the cooler is over sized

This was your one shot to impress me powercolor, never again will i buy a product from you

4 out of 5 eggsIts an alright card

Pros: -Back plate for rigidity
-Cooling performance
-Great looks
-Performs very well

Cons: -size, I couldn't fit this card in many cases with the back plate the size it is.
-weight, this card is hefty!
-Coil Whine and a knocking fan, could be just an issue for my card only, but the first fan closest to the bracket knocks on a lower RPM but is fine on high RPM's.

Other Thoughts: My fans typically run around 1500 RPM's and the noise gets rather annoying. It is much more bearable with side panel on my case, but i like the side off of my case, for now, so it's a big reason why this doesn't have 5 eggs. Another issue was the size, I knew the size before buying one, I even measured! The downside was when i went to put it in my case, I had to do some modding to make it fit. I swapped cases and it still doesn't fit. I managed to squeeze this bad boy into an old case from the early 2000's which i tossed for a Cooler Master Ammo 533. It fits fine in there without both cages.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked great for a while

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Quiet, cool and powerful. Will play almost all games on ultra settings 1080p at 60 fps.

Cons: Zero head-room for overclocking. Even a little clock boost will result in artifacts popping up everywhere.
No sticker :(
Cannot get a refund. See other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: A good card made by a great company but I do have buyer's remorse though. I should've bought the GTX 980 instead.

Manufacturer Response:

I'm glad you like the card. Regards, Powercolor

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card - may be too much for older MB

Pros: Runs cool, fast, and is relatively quiet (quieter than previous 6870). I game at 1920x1080 and can crank everything up to max.

Cons: I had a problem with my older 785 chip set MB where the computer would randomly restart or the driver would crash - often while just browsing or working on a spreadsheet, but also in games as well. Almost sent the card back, but came across a post where someone increased their minimum 2D GPU and memory clocks using ASUS GPU Tweak (I used GPU settings of 450mhz vs. stock 300mhz and memory at 600mhz minimum). As long as GPU Tweak was running I had absolutely no crashes or restarts. I closed GPU Tweak as a test and the computer restarted in less than 10 minutes. I was weighing an upgraded MB and getting a FX8350 - picked up the Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 (better power delivery and features than the 785 board) and the FX8350 (on a NewEgg deal) and it's been completely stable without GPU Tweak.

Manufacturer Response:

It's a good, stable model graphic card. Regards, PowerColor Customer Service

2 out of 5 eggsPretty Good Product, Terrible Support

Pros: The card works as advertised, though it runs hot and loud. It runs Dragon Age: Inquisition beautifully on full settings; however...

Cons: after 2 hours or so, it resulted in my computer overheating. I can probably fix this by changing my fan config, but this will not help with the noise. Worse yet, it's been 4 months and I can't get them to send my $30 rebate. I'm calling newegg now to see if they can help, but I've tried calling and emailing over the past two weeks to no avail.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsGreat replacement for my 2 970GTX!

Pros: -Overclocks like crazy (13% FPS gain!)
-Runs cool (No more than 67c overclocked)
-Quite
-No Coil while or ground loop issues
-FPS: Can play all the newest games (Wolfenstein, Metal gear, Shadow of mondor, etc) at least 30 FPS in 4K all settings max, but the shadows (normal).
-Has real 4GB VRAM, great for game development and 4K gaming!
-Price: I got it on sale for about $50-70 cheaper than a 970GTX! Great Value for your money!
-FXAA: I love AMD FXAA compared to NVIDIAs

Cons: -Power: this thing is hungry for power, it requires almost the same amount of power as my 2 970 SLI so at the very least a 750w power supply is recommended.
-Drivers/default voltage: At default settings I would get random freezes/crashes, funny thing is after playing with overclock setting and increasing the input voltage by a tiny bit (mV) , the card works much more stable. No crashes or random freezes in the last week of heavy use for gaming/game development occurred.
-Brand: This is my first PowerColor product ever, to tell you the truth I didn't even know what PowerColor was 1 month ago. So I can't talk about the longevity of the product, quality or their customer support yet; but so far so good.

Other Thoughts: I'm one of those guys who returned their 970GTX because of the VRAM debacle. I had 2 970GTX in SLI, which while the max FPS of 2 970 was much higher than one 290x, the average is not that different (at 4k). Also I must say that the FPS using one 290x is much more stable (+- 7FPS) compare to 2 970GTX SLI (+-40!FPS). For example in Shadow of Mondor my FPS using 2 970GTX SLI could be anywhere from 85FPS down to 27FPS, meanwhile with the 290x the FPS are anywhere from 43-36 and since I lock my FPS at 30, the game feels more solid playing it on one 290x than 2 970 GTX.

Playing games at 30FPS is not optimal, but since there's really no single videocard that can run 4k games at 60fps(not even the 980GTX) this is as good as it gets today.

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsGood GPU for the price

Pros: -Super powerful
-Good cooling
-Looks good
-Has a backplate

Cons: Not sure if it's coil whine or what but whenever it's under load there's a low yet slightly irritating buzz coming from the GPU. It isn't a problem while gaming with headphones on but when you stop playing the noise lingers for about five minutes. Also this thing is huge. It was hard to fit it right into my case and even then it sags a little bit. Not a big problem but it may set some people on edge.

Other Thoughts: Overall I would say this is a solid graphics card (for now, time will tell) and I would definitely recommend this.
