5 out of 5 eggsBest Card for the Money

Pros: Powerful
Quiet
Great Value (had discount and rebate)
Free Games
Smaller than many other R9 270X cards

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I'm running this with an AMD FX-8320 and 8GB RAM, and I can now run all my games at max settings with nearly 60 fps or more. The dual fans make almost no noise even under stress. Plus I got Thief and Sniper Elite III for free!

1 out of 5 eggsJust to clear it up

Pros: No pros for these cards see other

Cons: cards run hot.
Will not run crossfire/eyefinity on 3 monitors without active adapters for dp according to color power tech support.

Other Thoughts: According to AMD the R9 Series cards will run 6 monitors out of the box on a single card ....while it will run 3X1 without the need for adapters.
this is not the case with this card or 2 of these cards, It will only run 2 monitors at one time without adapters even with 2 cards in crossfire.

This is nothing but a glorified, rebranded tru to the core 7850 with a bad cooling solution and a higher pricetag.

I'm not slamming all the 270X cards but this Card just plain blows for current technology and this is the 3rd BAD experience with power Color and also the LAST as I will never buy any of their products again.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

This is Raymond from PowerColor. We apologize for the issue that you are faced with. If you plan on running 3 or more monitors, you would need to utilize an active adapter.

Best Regards,
Raymond

2 out of 5 eggsAvoid at all costs

Pros: Surprisingly high FPS given the price point, 60FPS in almost every game @1080p
Relatively Quiet
Runs really cool

Cons: Artifacting after 6 months, with random BSOD and grey screens. BSOD if catalyst control center isn't running, and BSOD when I try to raise the clock speed or fan threshold.

Other Thoughts: You may notice this card is more expensive than other options such as MSI or Asus, This is for absolutely no reason as I'm sure an MSI or Asus card wouldn't have failed this quickly.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

This is Raymond from PowerColor. Please be aware that your card already comes overclocked from factory. We strive to give the best performance for our users. Pushing it further from what he have set can cause stability issue and degrade your card prematurely.

Best Regards,
Ryamond

1 out of 5 eggsDoesnt satosfy my needs

Pros: Runs one display at desired settings (yes i have latest video drivers)

Cons: I have 2x Dell U2913wm monitors and i have bought a video card from newegg (Radeon R9 270X Item#: N82E16814131571) to support these monitors in extended mode (each at 2560x1080).
However, the issue i have is that only one monitor is able to be at resolution 2560x1080, another one does NOT go above 1920x1080

not sure if i bought a wrong video card

Other Thoughts: Would any1 know which video card will support extended resolution of 2560x1080 + 2560x1080

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

This is Raymond from PowerColor, please email me at Raymond.Hsu@powercolor.com and we can troubleshoot this issue.

Best Regards,
Raymond

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice card

Pros: Very nice card. Rock solid, no issues with stability, benchnmarked to within reasonable margins of error to as well as in the web reviews I had read. With a 1080p display I'm getting an average of 60 fps in Battlefield 4 at Ultra, so I can't complain. The card runs cool, but I haven't tried overclocking it as it isn't worth it for today's games.

Cons: It's not much of a complaint, but the fans aren't a as quiet as I would like. I've got a Fractal Define R4 case with two extra fans and I've never heard a thing from it before so I was a little surprised when I started hearing a faint whir when under heavy game load. It's not bad and certainly not worth knocking an egg off, but this card is a bit loader than average.

Other Thoughts: No regrets. I'd buy this again. For your average 1080p 60Hz monitor it can handle any game I've tried without compromises.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good card.

Pros: Runs every game on ultra settings. Picked up this card brand new for $150.. Great deal for a card that performs close to GTX 760 which was 250 at the time. I get a smooth 60fps in Skyrim (with nearly 100 mods), Tomb Raider, Deus Ex.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Haven't tried overclocking. Don't see the need to do so yet.

5 out of 5 eggsCute little card

Pros: -Quiet
-Cool
-Small

Cons: -Fan gets loud once it goes over 40%, but going over 40% is pretty rare. It usually hovers around 24-35% fan speed at full load.

Other Thoughts: Requires 2 6-pin PCI-E connectors.

OC'd this card to 1125/1450 mhz with no voltage changes

5 out of 5 eggsOn a budget (Just to get by)

Pros: Fantastic frame rates on any Direct X 9 game.
This card can handle current Direct X 10 + 11 games quite well with medium to high settings.

Cons: I can't try and hate on this card because it's so inexpensive compared to other options.
I was hoping AMD would do a little more with this 7870 replacement, but I'm not complaining.

Other Thoughts: For $170, this card served it up well. AMD, you're so good with budget cards.
My main purpose for this card is for the game Wildstar.
This card scrapes by with an average of 28 frames on medium to high settings with Anti aliasing settings on.
It's the perfect card for the girlfriend.
A happy girlfriend means a happy customer :)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat GCN Budget Card!

Pros: Good price for GCN tech, and it plays pretty much everything on either High or Ultra res with very good framerates. No noticeable issues with frame latency (single card, not crossfired) and since I actually use as its intended, for gaming and not mining, its performance is on par with my expectations. Battlefield 4 auto presets at High, but I can play at Ultra with framerates in the 45-60 fps range when set manually. Runs cool, has quiet fans, and the usual Powercolor excellent build quality. Smaller than the R6870 twin frozr (MSI) that I replaced, so space is increased in the case. Overall, very satisfied!

Cons: No cons as far as I know.

Other Thoughts: Some sort of software from Powercolor would be nice, similar to MSI Afterburner or something of the sort.
