5 out of 5 eggs6970 PowerColor gaming Card

Pros: Just installed yesterday. prev. card it replaced was a 5850 1GB. It is louder than my old card But it should preform better. the heat this card puts off is in normal range 31c idle-60c at full load in mark vantage test that I did when I installed it. Researched this and it is a good temp. Will up date post if any thing goes wrong with it. Good bang for your buck Gaming card. Top-notch

Cons: Little louder than my old card, but better performance.
had no sound after install. 1) Had to go to control panel 2) Hardware and sound 3) then under Sound click manage audio devices and make Amd HDMI audio the default device and now I have sound.

Other Thoughts: One of the best cards for $ to performance at this time Don't pass it up you will regret it you could use two for crossfire for $200.00 cant beat that.

5 out of 5 eggsPC AX6970 Video Card

Pros: Awesome video card. Greatest bang for the buck at this time 9/2014. Runs quiet and relatively cool at 99% load using FurMark.

Cons: None at this time.

Other Thoughts: Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 eggsWas more than I expected

Pros: I received this item as part of a Shell Shocker deal. This is a gamer's card.
I did not do any gaming tests as this was supposed to be an office machine. (Shell shocker deal was really pretty good.)
Works great with Ubuntu Linux and a dual monitor setup.

Cons: The supplied PSU didn't have enough connectors.
Ensure you have at least a quality 500W (600W or better) with a PCI-E 6 pin and 8 pin connector. (Or two 6 pin connectors. It comes with an adapter.)

Other Thoughts: For an office machine, this device is too much. However, if you need bitcoin miner, this is not a bad choice.

4 out of 5 eggsDOA, Still a good GPU.

Pros: This is a nice card...

- 2GB
- GDDR5
- 256-Bit
- Looks pretty dope.

...For only $99.

Cons: I think it was DOA...

When I popped in this GPU, I tried to run a fairly heavy game, BioShock Infinite.

It was on medium settings (It's very capable of running it). About 2 minutes into the game, my screen turned completely red, sound glitching out with a constant buzz.

This leads me to think the card is defective. Still a good card though.

Other Thoughts: Don't let this discourage you from purchasing it.

Just because mine was DOA doesn't mean yours will be.

4 out of 5 eggsNot loud, unbeatable price

Pros: Great value. I just paid 99 dollars to upgrade my old workhorse video card (HD5770). I didn't notice the noise everyone complains about, but I don't consider myself a hardcore gamer either. Right now I play SWTOR the mode, with a few other games from steam.

Cons: The TDP looks rather high, but I haven't had to upgrade from my 500 watt power supply.

Other Thoughts: I'm not playing new release games, but my old card was getting old. The price made it easy to move my old video card to the kids computer.

4 out of 5 eggsWorth?

Pros: Cheaper then Air.
Delivered in two days with regular shipping.

Cons: Loud as a coffee maker.
Hotter then Hiroshima.
Didn't give me a blow job.

Other Thoughts: Card may not fit in mini atx or itx.

5 out of 5 eggsgood card for the money

Pros: powerful card for the money. regardless of what people say below, it runs quiet in my system. It was a very large performace boost for the cost. I have not experienced any failures or problems with any of the components.

Cons: power hog. it takes two power connectors to run.ended up having to upgrade my power supply.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for the Price

Pros: Bought 3 of PowerColor HD 6970's all 3 work out of the box. Decent performance from the cards I myself have 2 in crossfire.

Cons: None I can see

Other Thoughts: I bought 3 hoping to put 3 in Crossfire but the cards are Hugh. I have a Asus Crosshair Formula z 990fx board and they are too close together for 3 on the board.

1 out of 5 eggsGood thing there's accidental damage warranty

Pros: Easy to install. Okay Price.

Cons: In my perspective on how it worked on my computer:

1.) The card doesn't seem to have a long life span.
2.) The card produced ashes on my PCI x16 slot.
3.) GPU leaked oil, it smelled like gasoline. Corroded the connector of my GPU as well.
4.) It feels like it could potentially explode and permanently damage a slot in the motherboard because there were ashes near the PCI x16 slot.
5.) The card may lack compatibility issues with some motherboards causing #1,2,3,4 to happen. A good graphics card should be compatible with many things.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

This is Raymond from PowerColor. Can you take a picture for us, we will examine it and determine the cause of the issue. Raymond.Hsu@powercolor.com.

Best Regards,
Raymond
