Pros: The card itself makes most of my video editing run smoother and somewhat faster, certainly handles the 3D rendering which is one of two reasons I purchased the card other than my having an older server board without PCI express.

Cons: I expected rendering to be much faster than what I ended up with. Some special video effects still render very slowly and Im not sure short of buying a new system how to correct that or if it can be corrected. Rendering is my bottleneck still after adding this card. Im still glad I bought it but if Im going to make any money editing, I have to do it quicker than what I am.

Other Thoughts: Its a solid card however, any system that has only AGP for video will not cure the lack of speed in rendering. Watching live webinars for pinnacle editing shows their rendering process going fast as lightening but nobody will give you the specs for such a capable computer system for specifically editing. Could use a little help.

5 out of 5 eggsGood AGP Render Card, not for games, but not exactly slow either

Pros: Fastest AGP render card on market (that I know of)
Dual dvi - will run Apple Cinema 30.
low/no fan noise (I have nvidia branded, not pny)
I use mine for multi monitor cad. Difference in regen/pan/etc time is significant.

Cons: Last of its breed.
AGP is dead on highend market.
nvidia powercad software that can run only on quadro card like this is deplorable - it is not worth buying quadro to run that software.
i got mine for $xxx and still question its value.
Not even close to $xxxx worth for gaming.

Other Thoughts: If you really have $xxxx to spend on a vcard, one would guess you would have enough to buy a new mobo with pci express and then there are much faster cards availiable (for all applciations: render, cad, gaming, etc.)

In a game it is going to perform exactly the same as a 6800 Ultra, which is is still a pretty good card so I disagree with the thought its "slow." It is just not comparable to two 7900gtx in sli, which is obtainable for less than $xxxx.

5 out of 5 eggsNOT FOR GAMERS!!!!!

Pros: Fantastic for designers and professionals.

Cons: Nothing!

I am a system builder. I had a customer bring me one of those to put into his gaming computer, he did not listen to my advice. It performed terribly playing BF2 Doom3 and other such games. You can buy 3 6800 GTs for the price of this thing.

5 out of 5 eggsi love this card

Pros: i love this card. if you go AGP, and why should you, your production will be catapulted forward.

Cons: i used to workout on my bowflex while my old GPU rendered frames. i think i will loose all my extra muscle.

Other Thoughts: my system;
4 GB DDR ram
quadro 4000 graphics card
4400x2 toledo (over clocked)
2 raptor 10,000 rpm 74 gb
4 westen digital 300gb
the first ATX case ever made
mad dog 500w psu
and the whole thing sitting in a frost free fridge.

and the whole thing sits at a balmy 56 deg cel. while performing intensive 3d rendering.

5 out of 5 eggsSLI on AGP?

Comments: this isn't a review but a point to put out. AGP does not support SLI.

4 out of 5 eggs

Comments: Actually, please don't buy these for gaming. They're 6800GTs made for professional work, not for gaming. It will perform worse than a 6800GT due to the fact that it runs the Quadro divers, and not the Geforce ones. Despite the rediclous pricetag, these aren't good at gaming. If you want to buy a 1500 dollar 6800GT just for the sake of having a 1500 dollar 6800GT, fine, but don't have any illusions that it will perform incredibly in games.
