Great bang for the buck!
- Pros: Great card! Improved my FPS on all of my games greatly. I went from 25fps at medium settings with an 8600gts to 125fps at max settings and 8xAA in Left 4 dead. This card also improved my 3dmark06 score by about 4000 points! I would recommend this card to anyone looking for inexpensive performance. I had some doubts that this would work with my 375w dell power supply, but it can handle the extra power usage with no issues at all.
Also my PC now runs cooler with the card installed, I think that the exhaust slot is the main reason for that. Very nice buy IMO.
- Cons: Large card, takes up two PCI slots. Make sure you have the room for it! Very long card as well be sure that you have clearance for any connections on your MB.
Awesome
- Pros: About twice as fast as my 7950GT, can max out Left 4 Dead and Fallout 3 at 1680x1050 with no problems. Also CUDA support is nice. A great card for the money!
Runs basically near silent most of the time and really makes games and video encoding (with CUDA) fly by. Definitely recommend for a gamer on a budget. Also, gave me an excuse to upgrade to Vista for DX10.
- Cons: GIGANTIC! Make sure you have enough room in your case for this behemoth.
- Other Thoughts: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+, 4GB Corsair XMS memory, ASUS M2N4-SLI mobo
Great card for the price
- Pros: Runs cools (when you speed up the fan)
Great for Folding@Home
- Cons: Not really a con, but it is a big card, but so are most of the new preformance cards
- Other Thoughts: Worked great from the box, it had all the connectors I needed and no real issues. Newegg shipped it out super quick, so I could fool around with it on Christmas day.
