5 out of 5 eggsFantastic card for the price!

Pros: Great FPS on almost any game maxed at most resolutions. I run a monitor at 1440 x 900 and modern warfare 2 runs at about 60 to 100 Frames per second with everything maxed and 4X AA. Pretty much can max any game except crysis and a few of the poorly optimized port games. If you just wanna play all the games at great settings this is the card to get. Install is a breeze, and has low power requirements.

Cons: Not DX11, but its cheap and high quality so who cares. We don't really have anything to show off DX 11 yet anyway. Big, but not really any bigger than my Geforce 8800GT.

Other Thoughts: Great card for the money, if you're more into getting to play games at settings that look way better than consoles, without spending 500 bucks, this is the card for you.

5 out of 5 eggsAn excellent card built on solid technology.

Pros: First, a bit of history. This card is built upon proven, reliable, excellent technology. The 8800 GT and 9800 GT are identical cards, based on the G92 core, 65nm revision, and NV shuffled the technology into the superior 55nm process (less heat, meaning higher clock speeds), releasing these cards with the so-called "G92+" or "G92b" core as the "9800GTX+". This is what this card is based on, essentially the best of the Geforce8 and Geforce9 technology, renamed "GTS 250" by marketing to sound more modern and new. Make no mistake, it IS a 9800GTX+ -- they are absolutely identical, excepting possibly some thermal power saving resulting in lower operating wattages, and more variance allowed for vendors to release products with various (almost always lower) clock speeds. This card runs at the full 9800GTX+ clocks and is a fantastic purchase if you can't afford (or find) a GTX 260. Runs cool with fan forced @ 50% -- 2 hours of 1080p gaming in Borderlands yielded 68C max in Storm Sniper case.

Cons: No cons except possibly that the fan is loud at full volume, if you have poor case cooling or a warm room you may have to deal with a fairly high level of fan noise. Not powerful enough to run Crysis (or Metro 2033) at resolutions higher than 1680x1050 with high settings, but at this price, this is hardly a con. This is my fourth card based on G80/G92 technology, and they've all been great. It's hard to find a real con with this technology when you accept that, as older technology, it is not "enthusiast" level and you will be forced to run at "less than maximum" settings for some newer games... but usually still near max!

Other Thoughts: I purchased this card -specifically- to use while my Gigabyte GTX 260 Super OC is in RMA. It handles almost all modern games perfectly well @ 1080p. I played Borderlands all weekend @ 1080p maxed out in DX10 mode with ini tweaks for extra visual quality and there were only a few scenes when the framerate went below 30fps (gigantic messy battles during the final mountain trek) and then only to 26-27fps, and only for seconds at a time. TF2 maxed out with 4xAA = no problem. GRID, Dragon Age, The Witcher, all ran perfectly maxed out. That's fantastic for what is "old" technology, but it just shows how awesome the 8800 was when it first came out. It -still- holds its own in 2010! The GTS250 is a great gaming value and will easily play anything out there @ 1080p or below (1680x1050, 1440x900, etc) resolutions, usually maxed out!

Pros: Just plane awesome....

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: This thing is way overkill for what I do, HD video editing. Pretty amazing what this thing is capable of.

5 out of 5 eggsA sticker would have been nice

Pros: powerful card for the price. Handles everything nicely

Cons: updated drivers lowered the windows score from 7 to 6.9

Other Thoughts: overclocked it to 750 core, 2240 or 1120 which ever way you want to look at it, and 1836 shader and it brought my windows score back up to 7.0. overall very pleased.

5 out of 5 eggsStable, Quiet, and Fast

Pros: Great Price.
Plays CRYSIS @ 1600 X 900 on "HIGH" settings with an E5400 OC'd to 3.46 GHz.
Not too loud.
Ran immediately and flawlessly on Win 7 even before installing nVidia drivers.
By the overwhelming percentage of satisfactory customer reviews, it's appparent that PNY actually takes Q.C. seriously. Hope it stays that way....

Cons: Not hardware related, but:
The rebate program - why not just include a mail-in coupon instead of making us jump through hoops.
Answer: Because most of us eventually give up, allowing you to keep the money! (Another dubious win for the ethically-challenged marketing gurus.)

Other Thoughts: I've been building gaming systems (low, mid, and high end) for several years, this is my first PNY product and I couldn't be more pleased with the performance for the price. No installation issues, no crashes, no overheating even under the most demanding games I could subject it to. I've been a loyal ATI user for years, but after having major issues with the last 3 ATI cards and NO issues with the last 3 nVidia cards I've purchased, I have no choice but to go GREEN! Seems AMD has brought ATI's quality down to the same level as their cheap CPUs.

5 out of 5 eggs1st PNY product

Pros: Powerful. Great value for the money.

Cons: Huge! Make sure you have the room, I barely did. Fan sounds like the computer is getting ready to taxi off the runway @ full speed. It runs quite warm, so if you keep it @ the default 27% (quiet) it will produce more heat..

Other Thoughts: This was about all I get get for my system without upgrading my power supply... and the issue with size, this was about all I could get.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget Card

Pros: Very good value for the dollar. My best purchase to date. Walks all over the 220gt it replaced. Runs STO @ a steady 50 fps with most of the graphics maxed.

Cons: Just a rebadged 9800gtx+

Other Thoughts: IMO the onboard fan control waits a bit too long before kicking the fan into high gear. I ended up downloading EVGA software, and I tend to set the fan at about 80% while I game. Although this keeps the temps under 60*, I am considering aftermarket options.

It seemed to run fine on the factory 400watt psu, I went ahead and bought a 650 corsair just to be safe.

...sorry Newegg, but a local retail store was having a sale, and my money was burning a hole in my wallet!

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Great budget card plays crysis rather well.

Cons: None, Worked great.

Other Thoughts: Thinking I should of went for a higher end ATI or Nvidia card, but that's my fault.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card!

Pros: Wonderful performance. No overheating even when overclocking. And PCI Express is the way to go. For my gaming purposes, this card was great, especially for the price. Running all my games at ultra settings with the exception of a couple, but they're still at high, so nothing to complain about.

Cons: Could use fan control on the drivers. Sucker is loud when booting up, but quiets once fully booted and stays that way, so not really a big problem. Just something to mention in the con area. :P

Other Thoughts: I'm pretty tech savvy, but I can see where this card would be easy to install for someone who isn't. The big size might throw some people off. Just make sure the slot below your PCIe slot is open and you'll have no problem. :)
