dont call PNY customer sevice
- Pros: cheap,cheap,nice box. no really i had a geforce 8400gs before and this out performs it.quiet fan,at least mine is,lots of ram,plays cod 4 on decent settings well. will run off a low power supply.(mines at 170 watts)
- Cons: customer service. i had a problem with getting the card to seat right in the pci-e slot.kept coming loose and getting a red screen of death. customer service hung up on me twice and i had to leave a message,they called me back the next day and were not really anyhelp
- Other Thoughts: not a bad card for light gaming and photo viewing,good price,nice to have the slimline brackets
Hot Hot Hot
- Pros: The box it came in was nice.
- Cons: This video card overheats after just a few minutes of use. The heat sink and fan are totally inadequate.
- Other Thoughts: "Daddy, my computer isn't working again."
"I'm sorry dear, but the video car has overheated again."
"Daddy, can you please buy a different video card?"
Why can't hardware vendors use decent fans?
- Pros: Cheap price for a powerful card. Plenty of dedicated video RAM. Lots of outputs.
- Cons: Cr*ppy fan. I've had the card for less than six months and the drone of the fan dying is driving me crazy.
- Other Thoughts: Sure, the card is cheap and a replacement fan is even cheaper. But my time is worth more than that! I was swapping out power supplies in 1989 because of cr*ppy fans. Here I am, 20 years later, dealing with a cr*ppy fan. The difference between a cr*ppy fan and a good one is just a buck or two in manufacturing costs!
Note the other reviews here - the negative ones all talk about the cr*ppy fan. It's a great card, otherwise. Works wonderfully...
