2 out of 5 eggsSolid Video, BAD FAN

Pros: Great video for the price

Cons: Fans became very annoying very quickly, making a lot of noise before failing completely leading to overheating issues.

Other Thoughts: The card still works well, I ended up removing the fan housing and the fan itself to eliminate the noise. After adding an additional fan inside the case centered on the cards heat sink I haven't had any further issues

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Budget Gaming Card

Pros: Cheap, high stability, relatively quiet. When I bought this card, I had a pretty wimpy power-supply (by today's standards), only 420W, and I needed a card that could work without pushing my PSU over the edge. Since then, I have upgraded the PSU to about 950W, but I am honestly so happy with the performance of the card, that I see no need to upgrade to a new card. I am not a "power gamer" per se, but I do enjoy being able to max out all the graphics options in any given game, (there's a certain satisfaction that comes with knowing you're running a game to its full awesomeness, and I have to say, this budget card is a champ! Example: Starcraft 2 runs with maxed graphics in high-resolution and my system doesn't even heat up too much as a result. As long as you have decent cooling in your rig, you can't go wrong with this card!

Cons: It's a big bulky, otherwise no cons at all.

Other Thoughts: This card doesn't require a separate 4-pin power connector (which probably has a lot to do with its lower power consumption/requirements) so if you're already feeling like you're about to "break the bank" with your flimsy PSU, then this puppy would be a safe option. But honestly, do what I did... through out that PSU that came with your case and invest in a good high-end PSU. it's good long-term investment for PC builders...)

4 out of 5 eggsDecent card

Pros: Pretty good preformance actually, running Crysis in DX10 with all high settings at 1920X1080 with a good playable framerate. Handles my 3ds Max projects pretty well. Price wasnt bad

Cons: Gets super hot! idles around 60C and 80C+ while playing a game such as crysis, might just be my case but dang I have 2 GTX 260's running in SLI in another machine and they peak at 70C with a full load and idle from 40C to 50C. Not sure why this card gets so hot...

Other Thoughts: surprised with the performance disappointed by the heating issues. maybe its time for a new case...

3 out of 5 eggsGreat card, fan died though.

Pros: Works great, relatively low power and profile.

Cons: The fan died after 13 months.

Other Thoughts: I have two of these in the same system for a triple monitor setup and they work great.

4 out of 5 eggsGood price, solid card

Pros: I upgraded to this from a Radeon HD 3650, and saw a major FPS boost. This has once again made games playable. It has decent cooling and performs well in most FPS' that I play.

Cons: With the recent release of COD:Black Ops, I realized that I'll need to upgrade again in the near future. There's some studder in the games coming out as of recent.

Other Thoughts: I plan on buying a 2nd XLR8 to run SLI. That will certainly put me back in the running.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Perfect starting graphics card until I can afford the more expensive ones. Use it on my 21.5" widescreen touchscreen monitor and 23" widescreen monitor for extended desktop with no display quality or performance issues. Does not require any additional power.

Cons: None.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible customer service

Pros: While it worked, the card performed admirably at 1280x1024.

Cons: The first card I purchased was a lemon; I had to send it in for an RMA within two months after purchase. The replacement card (refurbished, not new) would occasionally generate "snow" upon reaching the Windows desktop, but this could be resolved by changing resolutions. I lived with this flaw until a few weeks ago (~18 months after the RMA), when the replacement card failed with a puff of smoke. (Incidentally, while I knew the fan on the card was noisy, I did not appreciate just how much it contributed to my system's noise level until I pulled it -- what a difference!)
When I applied for another RMA, PNY refused to acknowledge my original RMA as proof of registration, despite the fact that it was within their 90-day registration window and contained the same information. They insisted the warranty had ended after 1 year instead of 3 and refused to replace the second faulty card.

Other Thoughts: I will not purchase another PNY product. Their hardware failed me twice in less than two years and they refused to stand by their product and make things right, excusing themselves on a technicality (RMA page vs. registration page).

Note: I owned a sister model, the 9600 GT (512 MB), which is no longer being sold. I attached my review to this closely related model in hopes of saving others time, money, and frustration.

2 out of 5 eggsGood until the Fan goes

Pros: its small and fit nicely in my stock HP I got some time back. It doesn't require any extra power and gets all it needs right out of the PCI express slot.

Cons: That fan will fail, and quickly. I've had it for about less than a year and once you start to hear it grind its all over.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card/ NO REBATE

Pros: Runs cool, quiet and handles everything I throw at it with ease.

Cons: Don't consider the rebate when purchasing, PNY will not be sending it.
