5 out of 5 eggsPNY VCG98GTEE1XPB

Pros: An astounding video card for 79 bucks. I know there is better out there, but the video on this computer is very quick and more than satisfactory

Cons: None, great card

Other Thoughts: For the money, its a great card. No issues at all with installation.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Card

Pros: 256 bit. 1 Gig of Ram. Whats not to like?

Replaced my recently deceased and aged 7900GS. My Win 7 Experience Index went from 5.9 and 5.6 to 6.8 and 6.8. Very happy with it. Don't play many video games. But I do a ton of AutoCAD work. And this little card will do just fine for that.

Cons: None so far. Other than Newegg dropping the price by 20 bucks a couple of days after I ordered mine!

4 out of 5 eggs9800 GT

Pros: Doing very well as a replacement for my dead 8800GTX - set up 2 of these in SLI for less than half and have gained in performance on all levels for my limited gaming COD4/BlkOps and Supreme Com lately.

Cons: Ran a little warm with stock fan over 70 C, so I replaced the stock fans with Z's coolers and stay around 60 C now fully loaded and idling just under 40

Other Thoughts: Could probably OC now but see no reason to these are running plenty fast for my needs right now, and the whole rig stays cool and quiet idling.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Easy to Install , Inexpensive , Runs all my Games at Max.

Cons: Does not make Smoothies.

Other Thoughts: I love this card it runs all my games at max settings like Starcraft 2 , Left 4 dead, CSS , Gmod and it runs quiet.

Keep in mind a have a 23inch screen so my max resolution is 1920x1080 and this card chews up my games and spits out 100fps.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for XP dual monitors but LOUD

Pros: I run Windows XP Pro for CAD design with dual monitors. Drives both the 24" and the 19" DVI inputs great. XP does not go beyond DirectX 9, so the 9800 GT is fine. No need to upgrade to a larger power supply with a dedicated 12V supply for VGA. Runs MS Flight Simulator X at max settings very smoothly, both monitors.

Cons: Loud. Very loud. Small fan and heatsink, so little fan must run at high RPM to keep it cool. I like the card for the price otherwise, so I will add a Zalman cooler.

Other Thoughts: I like the card for the price otherwise, so I will add a Zalman cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card!

Pros: I recently upgraded from my dating EVGA GeForce 7950 GT K/O 512mb card. Back in the day, this card was a monster! Now this replacement sure isnt a huge step up, but I am able to achieve what I wish. I am able to run my 32" LCD tv (monitor) at great resolutions.

I will eventually be turning my PC into a media center. I will SLI with two of these cards. It is overkill, but the media center can also be used as a game center as well.

Overall this card has worked great. I dont have any solid reviews for current benchmarks or "X Settings" in games like Crysis.

Overall, video cards dont need to be super high end just like processors. This card does just fine for the every day user and amateur gamer.

Cons: None so far!

Other Thoughts: Got it for a GREAT price at a big name brick & mortar store. Still a great card even if it is old!

5 out of 5 eggsPNY

Pros: Stable card, runs Eve online well with three clients running at 1080. Overclocks without any tearing or obvious problems, and seems to run stable.

Cons: Video drivers crash from time to time. Screen will go black and Windows will say it has recovered from crashing video card drivers. Could be a mobo issue, but it certainly isn't OS, as I've reinstalled Windows. Happens once a month or less.

Other Thoughts: Should have bought from newegg. Buying another next month from newegg for SLI. Will report how well that works in another review.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat VGA upgrade!

Pros: -Cost, less than a C-note after rebate when I bought
-Value, performer on all the RPGs and MMOs I've played
-Power efficiency-No need for PSU upgrade when installed in my Compaq Presario SR5710Y
-Plenty of GDDR3 RAM for even HD-res video (1080p/i)
-easy 5% O/C using free NVidia System tools utility download
-true 1-slot VGA upgrade solution for "big-box" store desktop PC purchase
-able to utilitize CUDA cores to off-load CPU and significantly speed up proc-intensive tasks like video conversion (eg. wmv to mp4 format)
-great improvement over previous dedicated gpu upgrade 9500gt 1gb performance: 32->112-cores, 128->256-bit interface, gddr2/800MHz to gddr3/1800MHz RAM
-hybrid SLI capable if you pair it with an 8-series integrated gpu-equipped mobo, if you are running windows Vista
-SLI-supported, when paired with another 9800gt or gtx/gtx+ (gold finger-equipped) vga, assuming you have a mobo with two PCI-e x16 or PCI-e (v2.0) x8 expansion slots, as well as an SLI bridge.

Cons: -Cooler is fan-equipped, therefore not silent.
-Cooler exhausts inside case, but shouldn't cause problems with overheating, as long as you have reasonable air-flow.
-brand-new price is still not under $100, without rebate:(
-It's hard to find free-shipping deals on this card now, since two newer generations of GeForce cards are higher sales priorities for re-sellers, now:(

Other Thoughts: -Offers a 5-year limited warranty, with registration on PNY's website, 3-year if you skip registration.
-If the warranty's not a real consideration (ie. this is just a short-term investment), you may want to consider getting the 're-furb' of this same model
-There's always a trade-off between compactness and efficiency of cooler, but if you consider that your total system investment is at least a few to several times what you spend on a low to mid-level VGA, you can justify spending a little more to cool your whole system with a few well-placed case coolers, knowing you saved at least as much getting this card rather than a GeForce 460 or 580.
-This card performs well with: WOW, GW (prophesies, factions, & nightfall), Witcher, Saboteur, Star Wars KOTR, DragonAge Origins Ultimate Edition; all max settings.
-I have also been pleased with its performance in Folding @ Home
-I'm considering buying another to "go -SLI" with a custom-build gaming rig based on an nForce 750a mobo.

5 out of 5 eggsG92 still going strong.

Pros: I purchased this card elsewhere. I can confirm that it is still a fantastic video card, especially for smaller PC's with weaker power supplies. If installed correctly this card can handle most modern games on high settings at 1280 x 1024 resolution. This is ideal for older 4:3 aspect ratio LCD monitors. Contrary to what you may have read somewhere else, this card is NOT AT ALL outdated and is actually more powerful than the newer GT 240 and GT 220.

With anti-aliasing and vertical sync disabled, I was able to play Metro 2033, Cryis Warhead, and Aliens Vs. Predator on high settings at solid 25 to 30 frames per second.

If you add another card for SLI, you can then handle the highest settings on 1080p resolution with no problems. Two of these cards in SLI roughly equals the power of a GTX 275 or a GTX 460. (See Tom's Hardware for proof).

Cons: No DX11 capability.

Slightly decreased clock speed compared to original reference design.

Other Thoughts: Considering that most modern PC games are designed for the XBOX 360, and then ported to the PC, it is ridiculous to say that this card is outdated. The XBOX 360 has a weaker GPU than the 9800 GT. If your XBOX can do it, this card can do it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Upgrade for the Buck

Pros: This card is an easy install for anyone! I know this card is outdated but was a quality ideo card a year and a half ago! This was a great upgrade from my previous card (NVIDIA 7500), and the windows graphics grade went from 3.0 to 5.0. Games ran so much better, and I could finally play the games coming out during the time (mid 2009).

Great price, easy set up, good graphics.

Cons: Got outdated really fast. Needed additional power so had to buy a Rosewill 500W.

Other Thoughts: I never installed anything to my PC and this was my first time. Since then, I realized how easy this stuff is, and bought the Rosewill and some 2Gig Ram cards. Too bad no one is going to use this anymore haha
