5 out of 5 eggsStill running like a champ

Pros: Still running great after 4 years of use, doesn't run loud like other 470s and never freezes on me. Runs all my current games on High or Ultra settings perfectly on a 1680-by-1050 display, games including Battlefield 4, Titanfall (Everything maxed out but Texture on High), Call of Duty Ghosts, Crysis 3, and more. The only game I've run into that this hiccups a bit on is Watch Dogs but its very poorly optimized (it runs slow even on my GTX 760+i5 4670K system). Temps are great, just average for a 470

Cons: Like all GTX 4xx Fermi cards, this card runs very hot compared to its performance so make sure you have a well ventilated case

Other Thoughts: This runs very well, for those looking to buy one used, if you're getting it for a good price (remember there's a lot more newer cards out there) and are set on getting this, I can backup it's performance and longevity. Still running great like a champ. Was able to play the newest Battlefield Hardline on it on max settings (with the exception of Anti-Aliasing, I never use AA over 2x except when required)

Owned 3 GTX 470's, two EVGAs and one of these PNY ones and sold one of the EVGAs the remaining one stopped working on me after two and a half years and before that, ran very hot and loud all the time. This PNY XLR8 model still runs like a champ though and its temps are just right.

Two thumbs up!

5 out of 5 eggsControl the fan, beat the heat

Pros: Fast. Far less bugs with NVIDIA and latest games (trust me I had a 4870 prior to this). I have a single monitor and can max out just about everything...

Cons: ...that being said, when I got the card I immediately downloaded a fan controlling program (free-third party) that allowed me to adjust the settings according to temp. This thing will run HOT at stock fan speeds. Mine idles @ 35 C with fan @ 50% and will run close to 60 C @ 80%. It does get a tad loud at that speed, but none of these cards from any manufacturer stay cool with stock fan at high impact. If you want to OC a now gen video card, get some high end cooling or prepare for disappointment.

Other Thoughts: Make sure your case can fit the card and that you have a well ventilated case. Preferably one with a side fan blowing on the card, like my HAF 932.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card with Lifetime warranty

Pros: This is the best value in gaming right now. Yeah, yeah, the GTX 5XX series is out, but all that does is make the GTX 400 series priced just right. Now you're getting DX11 power in an affordable price range. PNY makes a competitive product with a lifetime warranty.

Cons: Don't see how there could be one.

Other Thoughts: PNY took up XFX and BFG's lifetime warranty biz for all of us that want the GTX series and want something other than EVGA or Sparkle. And tell people to just hush about the heat. I have it overclocked to GTX 570 clocks and it doesn't get over 65C while gaming. I think some people don't have enough ventilation to keep this thing cool. I say if you can get one for right around $200 (with\without rebate), do it, you'll be set for another 1+ yrs. And don't forget that this card came out this year, so it's not really "old" tech. Happy gaming.

1 out of 5 eggsDied after less than 1 day

Pros: Pretty beefy card; Was chewing through Just Cause 2 and Batman: AA at highest settings with only minor performance issues

Cons: Card was working, then I took a shower, and somehow it wasn't. Installing another card on the same machine enabled it to work, though the vice versa didn't work.

Other Thoughts: I may have been unlucky, but this will definitely dampen my attitude towards PNY-brand graphics card in the future. I will try the RMA process and see how it goes

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Super nice upgrade from my 8800GTS. Running with a i7-930 @stock 2.8. Plays what I've thrown at it (Mafia 2, Just Cause 2) at 1920x1080 with 4xAA and 16xAAF and most quality settings maxed.

Cons: If you're OCing the card and the fan speed starts pushing 70% it can get loud.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card.

Pros: Upgraded from 9800GTX+ SLI. Only paid $124.99 after selling off my old cards.

More powerful than my old cards and an inch shorter.

Great performance in games Crysis runs maxed at 1680x1050 with 4x AA, 30+ fps all the time.

Cons: 60c idle
95c 100% load
Loud fan when under 100% load

Consider changing the stock cooling out for a Zalman VF3000N. Keeps idle/load temps down and it's quiet.

Other Thoughts: Came with Mafia II and five Sony movies for free.

2 out of 5 eggsdied in one day

Pros: The chipset is great, and the card is decently priced.

Cons: Mine died in one day, maybe I was just unlucky this time.

Other Thoughts: Board worked fine for a day, after which my system wouldn't power on unless I removed the card or unplugged the power connectors. It's as if it's shorting out my power supply. Tried with two supplies, and on two PCI-E slots, and my older GTX 275 works fine, so I'm sure it's the card's fault. Returned for replacement, will update the review if/when I get a working card.

5 out of 5 eggsBeat the ATI Radeon 5770 out of the water!

Pros: Vertical Syncs very well. Better vertical syncing takes any bit of tearing out of the games I play; I haven't had a single bit of tearing after switching to the GTX 470!

Very smooth performance, so far.

Can definitely handle the heat (works slightly better at lower temperatures, however).

The drivers that come with the card work very well. This card has shader clocks that actually make shadows look good!

Cons: I also have to agree with all of the other reviewers: this card runs very hot! (81 C under load)

At random times some graphical glitches will occur like a stuttering head or body, but that's rare, and not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: If using the MSI Afterburner with user defined fan settings (higher than stock fan speed), the card will run about 10 C lower.

It didn't make a big difference that core clocks are little slower on the GTX 470. It still out-performed my last card.

I owned a 5770 before: so look for my review on that too.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: very fast, card never got that loud, even when playing for acouple of hours

Cons: Unfortunetly had to return the card to the store I bought it from. The card kept crashing my comp. I kept getting the blue screen of death playing bad company 2. The cause was a bad graphics card memory controller. I would also get color splashing while playing bc2. Not sure if this was caused by overheating, but the fan seemed like it always ran at the same speed.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat performance...when it works

Pros: Great performance, good price. WHEN IT WORKS, it laughs at anything I throw at it; chews it up, spits it out, and asks for seconds.

Cons: Random BSoD'ing. Fresh install of W7 64. Freezes on POST. Freezes on Windows splash screen. Freezes at desktop within 1-2 minutes of getting to desktop. Computer continues to load to desktop, however the image will not change. Cntrl Alt Del to force a shutdown is the only thing to make it 'work'.

Other Thoughts: i5-70 @ 4.0Ghz
8GB Corsair RAM
850W Thermaltake RX2 PSU
MSI P55-GD65
