2 out of 5 eggsNo Post

Pros: None won't work

Cons: Bought this to replace an FX 380 on our engineers system and the computer will not post after installation. Re-installed old card and updated drivers to latest for the 600 still has same issue. Will exchange ans see if next one is any batter.

4 out of 5 eggsGood entry level card for intended uses

Pros: This card performs very well for its price point in applications it was designed for. AutoCad blazes through 2-D and 3-D performance is reasonably good for standard work. Rendering performance is nowhere near that of a Quadro 5000, however this card costs a tenth the price.

Rotations and rendering in SolidWorks are also good, with the PNY card outperforming a (twice the price) GTX660Ti by a comfortable margin. The 660Ti produced very visible stuttering and tearing artifacts, while the PNY VCQ600 gave smooth output.

During normal operation this card is nearly silent. When pushed during rendering, it is audible, but not annoyingly loud.

Cons: There are a number of reviews complaining about poor performance in desktop applications. This is a workstation card plain and simple, not a desktop one. The drivers are optimized for pro applications, not for blowing up bad guys or streaming cat videos. Used accordingly, it works well.

This card is at the low end of what you want for AutoCad or SolidWorks. Performance on large, intricate designs is going to be distinctly slower than what you see with higher end cards. You will, however, need to budget at least 5x higher price for significantly improved rendering times.

Other Thoughts: For basic, not-too-complicated rendering the PNY card is a very good performer. It does not scale well with larger projects, nor is it going to win any awards for desktop application performance. As far as entry level, quiet video cards go, this one leads the pack.

Definitely download the latest optimized drivers from the vendor of the software you are using. These outperform the generic ones from Nvidia.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat entry level workstation card

Pros: Contrary to some of the silly reviews posted here, this card is NOT for gamers. This is a workstation card plain and simple.

I installed this in a clients computer who runs AutoCAD, Revit, and other professional design software. Before they were running on the integrated graphics of an Intel i7 3770 and after they noticed a considerable boost in productivity.

They noted that any stutter that existed before was eliminated when orbiting a 3D model or structural plans and that rendering times were also considerably decreased.

Cons: If this is your first time using a professional card then plan ahead before you buy. Unlike with the GeForce line of gaming cards, you don't always get the best drivers from Nvidia's website.

Instead go to the website for the software you are going to be using and find the compatible drivers there as they can be differently optimized depending on where you go.

I list this as a con because it can become quite a headache if you think installing the card will get you to home plate. Find the drivers first, install the card, then you'll be golden!

5 out of 5 eggsThe last GPU you'll probably buy....

Pros: I'm not going to lie. This graphics card probably isn't for everyone. Being a semi-pro elite gamer, this card has the horsepower I need to get me through those tough encounter demanding max fps. Credability. I've been playing Hello Kritty Online since the open beta in August 2008. The system requiremnts call for a card with AT LEAST 512MB video memory, and can handle directX 8. This card can do all that, AND MORE! Sure, there are probably one or two cards out there that I could have purchased to cut costs.., But when you and your friends are helping Kitty wake up from her etheral slumber, and heling her defeat a mysterious and malevolent power. You don't have time to be disconnecting, tradmillin, or dropping frames just because of a weakscause GPU. Do yourself a favor and get this card! Pros include Green and Black colors A sticker for my computer case

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: A great card for the money. It's inexpensive (especially as far as workstation cards are concerned), low profile (which is great for corporate environments), and works. We primarily use it to run Solidworks. Solidworks runs quite a bit faster and more stable on this card then the Intel integrated (which really shouldnt be a shock).

Just be sure to grab the proper drivers. That doesnt always mean download the latest off of nVidia site, but the proper driver for your application. For example, we use it for Solidworks, so we go to their website, and download their proper, and optimized driver. Do that, and the thing runs like a champ. Don't and be like those jaded people.

Cons: None that make sense listing

Other Thoughts: Are there limitations on this card? Yes.

Do they make sense on this card's price point? Yes.

So, in other words, no cons, because you get exactly what is being sold to you. If you not happy with the card, you probably didnt install the correct drivers, or simply had the wrong expectation.

4 out of 5 eggsQuadro 600

Pros: I think the card works great. I am an Landscape Architecture student and use the program in Rhino, Revit Architecture, CS5, InDesign, Lightroom, and for Gaming! The card has not failed to meet any of my expectations yet. For a low class work station card, I believe it does what I need it to.

The card handles quick rotations and heavy design/elemental projects that I work on for school. We are allowed to link PCs at school to render faster, but I believe that my computer at home works faster alone than two or three of the computers together.

Cons: The card doesn't handle gaming as well as I wanted. It handles games such as Guild Wars 2, Diablo2, just fine on medium. But then again, it's not a gaming card and I realize this when I made the purchase. School comes first.

Other Thoughts: The card is worth it if you're a engineer, architecture, interior design, LARC student, etc. and handles games fine. I'm actually looking into purchasing a second one for dual monitors.

1 out of 5 eggsLow Profile = 0 performance

Pros: quiet

Cons: too much to write about it

Other Thoughts: if you are using graphic application such as: paint, than this card is perfect for you. its not designed to work with adobe products, photoshop cs5 barely works, premiere forget it. to be honest Voodoo 3dfx is way better graphic card. I was going to buy quadro 4000 but now I'm gonna stay away from workstation video cards, gonna get 2 geforces instead. market for professional video cards its overpriced.

2 out of 5 eggsWeak for video editing

Pros: It doesn't consume a lot of power.

Cons: It didn't do nearly as well as the 4800 Fire pro card with AVCHD footage. I don't play games I just edit video using Avid Studio. I returned this card and bought at 2tb EVGA 460 to replace it. My system runs much faster now.

Other Thoughts: I had this card in a system with a
2600K Intel processor
16 gig or DDR3 1600
An X-Fi sound card
500gig WD Black Main drive
Three 2TB WD Green storage drives
a Gigabyte z68xp-ud3 motherboard
Replaced this card with a 460 EVGA 2TB card and it runs Avid Studio for video editing much better.

My backup editing system is
AMD 1075t hexacore processor
8 Gig of DDR2 1067
Soundblaster Audigy sound card
Western digital 500 gig black main drive
Two 2TB Green WD storage drives
Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H motherboard
4800 Fire Pro Graphics Card

Windows index on the Quadro 600 under Graphics was
about 6.4
Windows index on the Firepro 4800 is 6.9
Windows index on the 460 EVGA 2TB card is 7.5

If you video edit go for the Firepro unless you use Adobe CS5 which makes use of Cuda technology or Avid Media composer.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: Bought this card to do some 3d drawings in AutoCAD. Works great. Renders much faster than my 5870. Would suggest this card to anyone looking for an entry level CAD card.

Cons: Only supports 2 monitors

Other Thoughts: Cant say that this is overal better than the AMD equivalent. I bought a V4800 but had to send it back because although windows 7 supports 2 different video drivers, AMD CCC got confused and ultimately corrupted. I had to reinstall windows to get it to work again. Nice thing about running AMD box is i can run the quadro 600 and 5870 both at x16 at the same time. I dont think there would be much of a difference if they both were at x8 but its just cool.
