3 out of 5 eggsGood on SOME games

Pros: Can let an old computer play newer games, can be used in a PCI slot, has HDMI, HDCP Compatible

Cons: Tried in 2 computers, and in some games (Or in most, depending on your computer), This will cause textures to screw up, and sometimes even crashing your game (Though this mainly happens with computers made in 2001-2003). I'm supposing this is a Directx Problem, since I ran a Directx benchmark (I don't remember the name, but it took you through a detailed forest), and the textures messed up, however, with the OpenGL benchmark (Same as DirectX one, but with OpenGL instead, of course), It did fine.

Other Thoughts: I would NOT recommend this card for any kind of 3D gaming, I know this is not supposed to be for gaming, but it can screw up on almost any 3D game or program. I ended up replacing it with a Zotac GT 520.

5 out of 5 eggsFull screen video

Pros: Full screen H.264 1080 video is now possible on an 8-yr old P4 3GHz w/HT. Plays youtube, netflix, and H.264 MOV movies from my digital camera that before were unwatchable (<5fps). 2D performance in WinXP is nearly as good as the AGP card it replaced.

Cons: Bug as reported by others causes computer to start up automatically right after it completes shut down. This was easily fixed by disabling Power on by PCI Devices in the BIOS.

The following are NVIDIA driver issues, not cons with this product:

NVIDIA control panel did not allow me to select different resolutions for my dual screens until setting this registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NVTweak and set the NvCplExposeWin2kDualView to "0" instead of 1.

I could not use the old GeForce 5600 FX AGP card in a multi-monitor setup with the GeForce 8400. The latest NVIDIA drivers no longer support the old card, and NVIDIA's unified driver model prevents running different video driver versions on different cards in the same system.

Other Thoughts: I don't play 3D games, but I wouldn't expect any miracles from this card.

You may need to upgrade your player to a more recent version that supports GPU or DXVA acceleration. I used the latest version of DivX Plus Player.

3 out of 5 eggs18A

Pros: Card functions. I haven't tested it much because of the power issues. I like the HDMI feature!

Cons: On the box it specifies power requirements which I did not find mentioned on this site. It says it needs a PSU with at least 300W and 12V @18A. I had a 300W 12V @ 15A that will not power on the system when this card is installed. When this card is installed in my other PC with a 350W 12V @ 18A it functions just fine. So I need to purchase a new PSU to get the card to work in the system that I need it in. Had the power specs been mentioned I probably would not have purchased this card.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Card

Pros: I put this card in my machine that had a Pentium 4 3.2 ghz HT, and 4gb of DDR400 ram. Works excellently. Plays games like counter strike source, battlefield 2, etc. This card improved my graphics score in windows 7 from 1.0, to about 4.2 . This thing can even power two monitors if you so desire.

Cons: It isn't free.

Other Thoughts: Get this card if you want to put life back into an old machine.

5 out of 5 eggsGood PCI Video Card

Pros: This video card is a good upgrade solution for an older machine or a situation where a PCI slot has to be used for video. Has DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI outputs. DirectX 10. It fits. Installed on a 2.8 P4 mobo it bumped Win 7 video subscores up high enough to use Aero themes. It's quiet. Have used the card since the end of January with basically no problems. I give it five eggs for doing what it is supposed to do.

Cons: The length of this card may make it a tight fit for some applications.

Other Thoughts: NVIDIA drivers can be updated to 285.62 but the 295.73 drivers can be a problem.

3 out of 5 eggsits not bad for PCI

Pros: Its a PCI interface, with HDMI output...not a mini. Small package for an HTPC. Not a bad price for a card with 512megs of ram that fits in older PCI slots.

Cons: Overheats. I bought this to create an HTPC, so I wanted to go passive cooling if I could. The card is overheating while playing video, so I had to install a fan...not what I wanted to do. The heatsink is shakes and isnt secured to the card very well. I may upgrade the heatsink, since the contact with the GPU is in question.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Card

Pros: Brought a little pep back to an old machine.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Bought this for my dad because he was mentioning he couldn't use all the cool windows 7 features, mostly video limited. Installed easy enough, graphics are excellent now.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value

Pros: Inexpensive way to upgrade gaming capability of older machines and to add multiple HD outputs.

No fan = silence.

Very pleased with the upgrade.

Cons: Won't be a factor if using HD outputs but the D-Sub cable gets uncomfortably hot if using the D-Sub output.

1 out of 5 eggsHunk of Junk

Pros: None that I'm aware of.

Cons: Would not work at ALL in PC it was intended for.

Installed in PC with quad core CPU & 4 GB RAM (Win 7)--worked but took Windows Experience rating down to 1 ! Yes, I used updated drivers.

Would give it ZERO eggs if allowed.

Worthless hunk o' junk. Newegg wanted more to return it than the effort was worth. Will probably throw it away.

Other Thoughts: This is the second time in 2 months that I've gotten shafted by PNY products. They used to be a reliable company with good products, but not sure that's still true.
