5 out of 5 eggsRefurb is Fine

Pros: Typical mmorpg games run fine. Streaming movies and videos look great.

Cons: Can't find any.

Other Thoughts: I wanted a mid-range card but had to mind the budget so I went with a refurb and paid the $10 for 1 year warranty. Definitely the right choice. This card is excellent! Rift, SWTOR & GW2 look amazing and the only "lag" time I experience now is due to Internet connection only. The second use is for streaming to my 42" HDTV, yup that looks great as well, again only issue is with connection which pixelates before buffering. Very very happy with this card.

1 out of 5 eggs2nd Bad Card of the same type

Pros: It does work well sometimes.

Cons: Sometimes makes the screen look under water. Won't send signal to monitor unless I turn the monitor off and on several times, both for start up and for restore from power saver. This is my second card of this type. Unfortunately this time the issues took just over 30 days to show. So I have to deal with PNY this time.

Other Thoughts: Seems like for PNY 'refurbished' is code word for 'defective but reselling anyway'.

1 out of 5 eggsVery Unstable

Pros: The card runs well for a while. I can actually play some games with decent graphics settings, and safely browse the internet for hours at a shot without worry. It was a good deal when I got it at only $70.

Cons: None of the pros last, and ultimately this was a bad buy. If left running for more than 24 hours, even if nothing is running, this card starts showing graphical errors. Like bright whites in videos become pink, I get lines through random places in my web browser, and the normally bright white sunglare on my desktop gets a yellow outline. I also get little yellow dots everywhere in Deus Ex: HR, and random objects sitting around in Skyrim.

While all of these things have happened with temperatures even in the low 30s, artifacting also seems to be triggered in certain games when the card hits 60c+, though this doesn't seem to cause the normal desktop/browser issues (those happen randomly for no apparent reason anywhere in the timespan of approximately one day).

Driver crashes also happen from time to time, and I've recently had the entire screen simply black out and not show anything else without simply restarting the computer.

Other Thoughts: I've tried all sorts of methods to try and make the card work properly, including multiple versions of Nvidia drivers from the 270s through to the 290s, reseating the card, checking the connections. Nothing seems to work.

I assumed I just got a bad card, but seeing the other recent reviews, it seems these recertified 450s aren't getting tested at all. I wouldn't recommend buying this item to anyone unless you're alright with restarting frequently, and not doing anything likely to push your card's temps to 60c.

2 out of 5 eggsFlaky in less than 24 hours

Pros: Great performance at low temperature with no overclock.

Cons: I put it in about 24 hours ago, total of about 15 hours of use. And it already is acting quirky. Sometimes it makes every pixel on the screen wobble, makes you feel like you are on a boat. And once it changed the screen to random green and pink pixels that I had to reset my computer to recover from. And I wasn't even running any graphics intensive programs.

Other Thoughts: Like someone else said, this won't be an amazing deal for everyone, just the people who get a stable one.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked great, for a month...

Pros: Worked great on my Steam games, vastly superior to my old card.

Cons: Started artifacting after about a month. Rectangular regions flickering during video play-back, large triangular black-outs (on desktop, not even gaming or doing anything else that should stress the card). Since there's no returns to NewEgg for recertified cards, I have to deal with PNY now...

Sending this review in before I yank it out to get back to a usable system.

Other Thoughts: Giving two eggs, instead of one, since I may have just got a lemon, but want to let people know it's not necessarily a slam dunk that you'll get a rocking card for cheap.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card!

Pros: Quiet, Cool, Runs Battlefield 3 on Ultra, No problems yet!

Cons: Not EVGA ;)

Other Thoughts: I bought this card when it was $70 around Thanksgiving to upgrade from my 220 GT. This card makes all the difference in the world, all my friends are running the 550Ti but, with a little help from RAM, my PC outperforms them in BF3 on Ultra. Basically, this is a very good card.

5 out of 5 eggsExcelent Value

Pros: Quiet. Great Performance.

Cons: Large. Needs lots of juice.

Other Thoughts: In the medium performance category, this is one of the best values going. Rock solid stable and quiet. It replaced a GTS-250 which is a decent card, but LOUD. (I can find no excuse for a manufacturer to sell a card with a screaming loud fan.) When I say medium performance - I mean where high performance cards cost 2 to 3 times more. The GTS-450 plays everything I care about with excellent, smooth frame rates. My gaming machine is now a thing of joy.

5 out of 5 eggsThis was a great deal!!... for now...

Pros: This card is good for an average user who wants premium mid-range graphics and then some. I was very impressed with its overall performance (and although the WEI score isn't the best benchmark reference a 7.2 still looks pretty good)
-Delivery was fast, got it next day (this was my first order from newegg)

Cons: Kinda worried at the prospect that it might die (being re-certified and all) but thats the risk you take when you buy and PC Hardware

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal

Pros: Plug and play. I use it for GPU computing and it is producing fantastic results. Great price and in spite of the fact that it is recertified, it looks to be of high quality and well built...no unnecessary plastic. You can tell it was FACTORY refurbed...not by some outside junkyard. I was particularly happy that there was no MIR.

Cons: The box didn't have two of them inside. A VGA to HDMI converter would have been nice,

Other Thoughts: I know I should be judging the item by its performance, and I did, but I was particularly impressed with the simple, easy to open, yet protective packaging...yep, the box.
