The PNY GeForce GTX 660 XLR8 not only extends the NVIDIA Kepler-powered family of graphics cards to new levels of affordability but also retains class-leading performance and power efficiency. It's the weapon of choice for gamers and a must-have upgrade for today's hottest games. The PNY GeForce GTX 660 XLR8 graphics card represents the Kepler "sweet spot" for gamers—the ultimate combination of performance, power efficiency, and affordability.

  • newegg Kepler GPU Architecture NVIDIA's Kepler GPU architecture has been designed from the ground up not just for maximum performance in the latest DirectX 11 games, but optimal performance per watt. The new SMX streaming multiprocessor is twice as efficient as the prior generation and the new geometry engine draws triangles twice as fast. The result is world class performance and the highest image quality in an elegant and power efficient graphics card.
  • newegg NVIDIA GPU Boost Up until now, GPUs have operated at a fixed clock speed when playing 3D games, even if they have the potential to run faster. GPU Boost intelligently monitors graphics work load and increases the clock speed whenever possible. The result is that the GPU always performs at its peak and you get the highest framerate possible.
  • newegg NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing, at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.
  • newegg NVIDIA Surround with Up To Four Monitors Nothing is as breathtaking as playing your favorite games across three monitors. At 5760 x 1080, the expanded field of view fully engages human peripheral vision and provides for the most immersive experience in racing and flight simulators. Add in a fourth display to keep tabs on chat, email or web while you are gaming.
  • newegg TXAA AntiAliasing Antialiasing helps to smooth out jagged lines in games. Existing techniques like MSAA are effective at removing jagged lines in still images but struggle with crawling and shimmering artifacts when the player is in motion. TXAA is a new antialiasing mode that combines MSAA, temporal filtering, and post processing for the highest edge quality and minimal shimmering during gameplay.
  • newegg NVIDIA 3D Vision Ready NVIDIA 3D Vision brings a fully immersive, stereoscopic 3D experience to the PC. A combination of high-tech wireless glasses and advanced software, 3D Vision transforms hundreds of PC games into full stereoscopic 3D. Get up to 2x monitor and keyboard brightness with NVIDIA 3D LightBoost technology. In addition, you can enjoy 3D movies and 3D digital photographs from in eye popping, crystal-clear quality.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card for Current Gen

Pros: Great card. No problems what so ever with it.

Cons: I did get a 970 once I could about 2 years after. I think the 660 is great if you're not playing anything considered graphically intensive and relatively new. This card is more than adequate for any MOBA, mmo, etc. But for your heavily modded Skyrim or Starcitizen you might need an upgrade.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Quality card. Only a few times did I get graphical issues with games on max settings like Dark Souls 2. Only lasted a few seconds in a few areas. As long as I'm not running Ultra on any game, no crashes. Has no problem running 7th gen games on max.

I closed my vent in the winter, and the card does a good job heating my room.

Cons: This thing is a space heater, we're talking 80 degrees on decent load. The fan makes a semi loud noise when ultra settings.

3 out of 5 eggsUnder a year in

Pros: Until 9 months in this card was great. It ran most of the 2013/14 games at the highest settings and didn't skip a beat. The card was reasonably priced when I got it on sale, thanks newegg. I also didn't have to upgrade my power supply, a Roswell 80 plus, to use it.

Cons: Almost exactly 9 months in and it seems like the card is starting to malfunction. I was playing Endless Legends and started to have some Digital Artifacting, lots of small, tightly packed, green a blue bars followed by the BSD. Restarted and had the same problem about 10 mins in. I think it may be the beginning of the end.

Other Thoughts: This problem did just occur and there is still hope that it is something else, I haven't had a chance to troubleshoot fully yet. I will update and adjust the 3 star rating up or down depending on the failure being the card and not a program issue.

The card was never over clocked. It also got fairly steady and daily use.

1 out of 5 eggsReceived Factory New, Crashes Computer on High-End Games

Pros: Works amazing for what it works for, especially if your card actually works with all games

Cons: Mine doesn't work for any high-end game. I've stood up with it for almost two years now, trying everything in the book to fix it, and it won't work. Even got a friend's PC that can hold up with some pretty intense cards, with a huge power supply and nice motherboard and all that, and it crashed in his too. Defective card. I can't play any games I want to anymore. Far Cry 3, FC 3: Blood Dragon, Bioshock Infinite, Dishonored, Batman Arkham series, Xcom, Sniper Elite Zombie Army, and pretty much any game with Unreal Engine

Other Thoughts: Just basing my review off of my specific card. When you get one that works, it's amazing. Mine, however, was new, and only half-works

1 out of 5 eggsI've been through two of these, in one case I was able to use the Newegg warranty. In the second case that time has passed.

Pros: It was great when it worked.

Cons: It didn't work the first time around, not from day one. The second time around, it worked for 5 months. Now cannot be repaired (per tech shop) and will not work.

Other Thoughts: So expensive for me, this was a disappointment.

5 out of 5 eggsgood video

Pros: it runs games very well I can play all the new games at high-ultra.
Runs pretty cool.
Came with watch dogs and a $30 rebate

Cons: Very long, much longer than normal I would say. It even covered up my sata ports and I had to switch out two of them for 90 degree angled cables. Overall it's ok, just letting you know it's a very long video card because the fan in on the end rather than on top.

2 out of 5 eggsSecond time looking for replacement

Pros: Works great when it is working.

Cons: It breaks. I've had this replaced once and now it is not working again. It is used often for gaming but the computer is clean and kept appropriately cool. After the first one wouldn't work (dead on arrival) we even had it installed by a computer shop to be safe. We usually do this type of thing ourselves. It's been working for 5 mos. but no longer. The computer shop where we had it installed doesn't cover the replacement since the problem was due to manufacturer's error and not installation. We're having to return to PNY. I've been told by the same repairman that he has seen issues with this model more than once. I bought this because of the price point. We have reasonable expectations and we're not about getting angry over "stuff". I'm throwing this in the reviews as a heads up. As always, no problems with Newegg. Love this site and we've been using them for years.

Other Thoughts: First one was DOA, second one failed after a few months of use.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat card, got lemon

Pros: Runs smoothly, maxes out most games that I have. In short: beautiful. I can't do a proper review on it, however, because I got a lemon.

Cons: It seemed fine at first, but I got graphical artifacting after about 2 hours of moderate intensity online gaming. I checked my temp, and it only got up to about 75*C. The artifacting continued after the game was shut down and made my computer unusable. Otherwise, it seems to be a great card.

Other Thoughts: I plan on getting this card again after I make the return.

5 out of 5 eggsRock-Solid Gaming investment

Pros: Literally just everything about this card. Installation of the drivers were a little tricky, but still easy, most likely do to the number of games I have installed. After installation, this thing runs like a dream! Very nearly silent in my case, and runs idle at around 44c. It actually runs cooler full bore HD gaming than my 9800 GT did at idle almost! 65c is normal op temperature while gaming, and not a single hiccup! Most of my games are currently maxed on HD settings and run as smooth as silk. Run 2 of these SLI and you can take on anything if you have the space available!

Cons: Don't really have any cons on this one...which is rare for me! I needed it the day I ordered it, and newegg couldn't transport it to me as they don't have the technolgy to yet. It still got here remarkably fast in spite of that.

Other Thoughts: Absolutely the best investment I've made in my PC in a long time! I honestly can't believe I went as long as I did without this powerhouse in my system! My only regret was that I couldn't wait until Watch Dogs came out, since Daylight isn't that great...but it was free. I would have gotten this card with No free game, and would have been just as satisfied with my purchase!
