The NVIDIA Quadro K2000D graphics board delivers both excellent performance and the latest productivity enhancing technical innovations at a very reasonable cost. Designed and built specifically for professional workstations, NVIDIA Quadro GPUs power more than 150 professional applications across a broad range of industries including manufacturing, media and entertainment, sciences, and energy. It satisfies professionals’ various demanding needs whether it is product design, visualization and simulation, or medical and diagnostic imaging. With two DVI-DL connectors, and the ability to drive an additional side display, the K2000D is perfect for color or grayscale medical imaging applications requiring 10- or 12-bit grayscale imaging with DICOM monitor calibration support. Get 2GB of GDDR5 GPU memory, 384 SMX CUDA parallel processing cores, and full Shader Model 5 compatibility in a single slot form factor which requires no auxiliary power to deliver full performance.

  • newegg Ultra-Quiet Design Silent cooling design enables acoustics lower than 28db for an ultra-quiet desktop environment.
  • newegg Kepler GPU Architecture NVIDIA's Kepler GPU architecture has been designed from the ground up not just for maximum performance in the latest DirectX 11 games, but optimal performance per watt. The new SMX streaming multiprocessor is twice as efficient as the prior generation and the new geometry engine draws triangles twice as fast. The result is world class performance and the highest image quality in an elegant and power efficient graphics card.
  • newegg NVIDIA Scalable Geometry Engine NVIDIA Scalable Geometry Engine dramatically improves geometry performance across a broad range of CAD, DCC and medical applications, enabling you to work interactively with models and scenes that are an order of magnitude more complex than ever before.
  • newegg NVIDIA CUDA Architecture Parallel-computing architecture that tightly integrates advanced visualization and compute features to significantly accelerate professional workflows. Quadro solutions leverage general-purpose GPU computing using standard programming languages like C/C++ and Fortran, and emerging APIs such as OpenCL and Direct Compute. This broad adoption of CUDA accelerates techniques like ray tracing, video and image processing, and computation fluid dynamics.
  • newegg Two New Anti-aliasing Modes: FXAA and TXAA Anti-aliasing smoothes out jagged edges but can be demanding on framerates. FXAA is a new antialiasing technology that produces beautiful smooth lines with minimal performance impact. And with Kepler based GPUs, you'll be able to enable FXAA in hundreds of game titles through the NVIDIA Control Panel. The second mode, TXAA, is an in-game option that combines MSAA, temporal filtering, and post processing for even higher visual fidelity.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card and does the job

This review is from: NVIDIA® Quadro® K2000D VCQK2000D-PB 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Workstation Video Card

Pros: I was building a PC to be used for graphic design. I originally built one 6yrs before with just a small gaming video card. This new build puts it to shame with an actual rendering card.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsDifference in some programs noticed

This review is from: NVIDIA® Quadro® K2000D VCQK2000D-PB 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Workstation Video Card

Pros: Increased rendering performance in Hoodoo and Modo.
(Don't know if I spelled them right)
And with Photoshop and the like, no difference noticed.

Cons: The main con is the price, and that it this a PCI Express 2.0 card, and not the next generation of PCI Express 3.0

Other Thoughts: Bought this for my son's PC. He does a lot of Photoshop, and rendering graphics. He said he noticed a positive difference in the graphic rendering programs he uses, but not much difference in programs like Photoshop.
As for me, I think that if you pay this much for a entry level type Quadro card, it should really be PCI Express 3.0

1 out of 5 eggsMake Sure Your Software Supports the Cuda Engine

This review is from: NVIDIA® Quadro® K2000D VCQK2000D-PB 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Workstation Video Card

Pros: It's functional. The picture on both of my monitors is crisp and clear. But this is supposed to be a professional video production card that makes for a more enjoyable editing experience. That might be valid if you're editing in Adobe Premier but forget about any improvements if like me, you're editing with Corel VideoStudio ProX6.

Cons: And this is my big issue. Simply say in the description that this card will only help you if you're operating in certain programs as I've experienced absolutely no improvement in rendering or in previewing effects.

If you're not working in a specific environment that this card supports, I recommend getting a standard video card with lots of RAM. This one only has 2Gb.

5 out of 5 eggsPro card vs Gaming card

This review is from: NVIDIA® Quadro® K2000D VCQK2000D-PB 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Workstation Video Card

Pros: Runs Solidworks well.

Cons: Inflated professional card prices.

Other Thoughts: Recently purchased Solidworks. Tried an nVidia 560GTX 2GB and a 760GTX 2GB with it. Both cards worked with the software but had lag time on some operations. Installed the Quadro and it's a night and day difference. Solidworks runs much faster and looks better. I will save money in the long run using this professional card vs the gaming cards I initially tried.

Same chip architecture, optimized drivers from my understanding...

3 out of 5 eggsWorks Well - Minor Driver Issues

This review is from: NVIDIA® Quadro® K2000D VCQK2000D-PB 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Workstation Video Card

Pros: Cool, quiet and energy efficient and still handles parallel processing like a champ.

Cons: I purchased this card to replace a GeForce 9800 our backup video workstation. When I first installed it, Sony Vegas 12 would lock up every time I attempted to render.

After much research and testing, I discovered that if I set the Dynamic Ram to 0 (zero) in Sony Vegas, the card would work fine.

Pretty sure it's a driver issue and not an issue with Sony Vegas as all of my older NVIDIA cards ran fine. I also have the same problem on my machine with the Quadro K4000.

I would have rated 4 stars but when I pay pro prices, I expect the card to work with pro editors.

Other Thoughts: I also purchased the K4000 for our primary workstation and had the chance to test both cards in both a new 1155 socket 6-core i7 machine and a very early i7 4-core machine. Other than the driver issues mentioned above, the K2000 performed nearly as well as the K4000 in the older machine making it a better value for a slower machine with other "bottlenecks" - for a faster machine, the K4000 shows a greater performance increase.

Test results: (short 1080p test clip with lots of FX, 4 tracks and numerous transitions)

2.6MHZ i7 4-core machine:
GeForce 9800: 12:06
Quadro K2000: 10:03
Quadro K4000: 9:44

3.5MHZ (oc to 4.6) i7 6-core machine:
Quadro K2000: 8:38
Quadro K4000: 7:47
