5 out of 5 eggsGood Video Card

Pros: I liked this card for several reasons. Number 1 it is small, I have used larger cards and then kick myself because they are so hard to install, they get in the way of everything. This one stays out of the way. Number 2, it does not require an auxiliary power connection. Number 3, it is very inexpensive. Number 4, it does the job, I scored a 6.6 out of a possible 7.9 on my Windows 7 computer rating for graphics. More that adequate for my needs. I have done more research and so far I plan on using this card on my next build.

My set up includes ASUS P7P55D Deluxe LGA 1156 MB, ECS NGT240-1GQR-F GeForce GT 240 Video Card, XCLIO Great Power X14S4P4 600W Power Supply, Intel Core i5-750 Lynnfield 2.66GHz Processor, Crucial RealSSD C300 128GB SATA 3 Hard Drive, WD Caviar Blue 500GB SATA 3 Hard Drive, G.SKILL ECO series 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 Memory, and ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler, with Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit.

Cons: I'd like to find a bit more power in a smaller size card.

Other Thoughts: I recommend this video card to all but the most hard core gamers.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's not all bad

Pros: The price was the only pro for me. :(

Cons: I bought the card to update and old VidCard on my gaming desktop. I don't play enough to warrant a very high end card but I do play enough where FPS becomes a major issue.

In this case it is not the card manufacturer's fault I didn't do my homework properly but despite the nice stats for the price it couldn't handle a game like wow on all low settings.

Other Thoughts: I'm returning this card and getting one from the GeForce GTS 250 line :)

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent bang for the buck

Pros: Jammed full of video memory for my online gaming addiction, low cost, low profile (not a huge card), fan, easy to install physically, power efficient, a number of video output options.

Cons: Drivers disk only has Win 7/Vista 32-bit driver, causing momentary panic, but hard to navigate website has the drivers for 64-bit. Book that comes with it killed trees, it's useless...I think it's for the wrong card altogether.

Other Thoughts: I wanted so bad for this to be a 5-egg'er, but a few annoyances kept it from gaining full gold.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card for price

Pros: Great card for price

Cons: For those looking to use this with your TV, know that it can only go as high as 720P not 1080. If you have a 1080 TV look elsewhere for a better card for that situation.

Pros: this is the minimum card for 3D, win 7 install driver automatically, win rate this card at 6.6 of 7.9. great for a budget builder like me. not the best card by any means but this is the best bang for your buck.

Cons: tiny fan

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Easy to install, very quiet, and runs really cool.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I got this to replace my dead 8500GT. This thing runs circles around my old card. This upgrade has really made me want to get into PC gaming more.

4 out of 5 eggsThe fan isn't too noisy

Pros: - Great upgrade for my media center PC compared to what I had (a GeForce 9500 GS).
- Energy efficient.

Cons: The fan on the card that I received produces about half of the decibels of an electric fan during the summer. So it's not too bad.

Other Thoughts: You might want to consider the fan less version of the GT240 if you need silence.

5 out of 5 eggsSingle slot works for me

Pros: I bought this for a dedicated Folding@home PC, and it is working fine along with two ZOTAC ZT-20404-20L GeForce GT 240 passively-cooled cards with a Foxconn ELA motherboard with 3 PCIe x16 slots. It has been running 24/7 for a couple of weeks without any problems.

Cons: None. I had no problems installing the drivers as another reviewer did. It was just like the Zotac cards, and they all use the same Nvidia driver just fine under WinXP for me. Just download the latest one.

Other Thoughts: I prefer fanless cards when possible with good case cooling. The reason I bought this card is that it occupies only a single slot, and I needed the PCI slot next to it for a wireless card. The fan runs at a reasonable speed and keeps it normally in the range of 60 to 70 C, though that will rise this summer especially with the harder work units. I don't know how it would do for 3D games, but there are plenty of reviews for that. It will work just like any other GT240 with 1GB DDR3 memory at the stock speeds.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Card for Tight Spaces

Pros: Small - single slot and short.
Low power requirement - 300W quoted on box.
Runs cool.
Quiet.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought this card as part of an upgrade for a Dell E531. The Dell processor heat sink takes up a lot of space and doesn't leave room for double slot cards.
This card is single slot and short. It fitted easily with lots of space around for airflow.
With an AMD X2 6000+, 4GB RAM and Windows XP, this rig now gets 100+ fps at 1440x900 fps in World of Warcraft.
