5 out of 5 eggsWorks great in Ubuntu!

Pros: Seems to be a really solid card so far. Runs a touch hot in my computer, but it's a compact case with no fans. I had to return an MSI card similar to this one because it overheated, and that one had a fan. I'm going to have to modify the case and add some better cooling to it, but overall I'm pleased with the results. I'm not a gamer, so I can't give any real feedback on performance. This replaced the onboard adapter which only had 8mb of ram, so just about anything I threw in there was a substantial improvement. Ubuntu seems to like this card, and the proprietary driver utility that I loaded up has plenty of diagnostics and controls.

Cons: None really.

Other Thoughts: You want to make sure your case has decent ventilation. In my system, an old Dell 4700C, the power supply is directly below the slots (about 1"-2" clearance), and the case has no room for fans anywhere. The heat rising off the power supply dissipates directly into the heat sink of the video adapter. I don't think heat would be a major concern under normal circumstances. My case is an engineering design mistake. This card seems to be built like a tank though, and a modification to the case design should fix the problem. For now, I leave the case open until my parts come in. It's not going to be a fun modification, but this isn't the cards fault.
