2 out of 5 eggsAnother Card down the tubes

Pros: Good performance while it lasted.

Cons: Card only lasted less than a year before it started giving me major screen corruption. Tried installing it on more than one machine after that and it was the same deal. I went back to my Geforce 5200 that was still kicking.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Wow, completly blown away by this card. I upgraded from a Radeon 9200 because the card died and I needed something that was 8X.

Cons: Um, I had to clean the dust out of my case before installing it....?

Other Thoughts: Not a bad price either.

5 out of 5 eggsExcelent budget video card!

Pros: -Good card for the price
-Easily overclocks to 550/1100
-runs most games with maxed out graphics and no/very little lag

Cons: -Like others say, it runs a little bit hot. After playing about 10 minutes of the suffering, temps were reaching close to 70C (and thats without over-clocking).

Other Thoughts: If you do use this card for gaming, I would definately suggest a good cooling setup in your PC. Be careful when over-clocking to watch out for those high temps.

AMD 3200+

Jetway mobo
160gb WD
6600gt

I've had no issues with this card other than the moderately high temps, but once you get that little inconvineince out of the way, its smooth sailing :D

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent product!

Pros: A superb, low priced product. It has worked flawlessly (just be sure to plug in the extra power connector) and has never come close to overheating. I can now run Doom3 in ultrahigh and Quake4 in high--couldn't run either before where it would be worth playing. I like that the GPU clockspeed automatically switches from 300mhz to 500mhz depending on need, helping to stabilize the temp. Nice fast 900mhz DDR3 really helps boost performance too, and antialiasing is finally worth using, as this card handles AA extremely well. Overall this card was a big step up for me from a lower-quality competitor's card purchased a year ago.

Cons: The TV-out capabilities work fine, but not as easily or smoothly as the competing GPU manufacturer's drivers. Using component cables, the Nvidia driver insists that my TV must be an HDTV, which it is not, so I can only use 480i mode and have it display correctly. At least one mode works fine, and DVD's output to the TV are more colorful and clear than the competing GPU's output to S-Video.

Other Thoughts: Running this puppy on AMD AthlonXP 2600+(333 fsb), 1gb pc3200@400mhz, Abit KV7 mobo w/ VIA KT600

5 out of 5 eggsbest deal available

Pros: very cheap @ 113, I guess I lucked out because mine doesn't overheat, infact it never gets above ~65*C. Runs well at higher resolutions, I get much better fps with AA on (weird?). Buy this card if it's cheap, if not go with the California-based eVGA.

Cons: hmm, I forgot to plug the extra power connector in at first and windows just ran games very poorly, I couldn't figure it out (didn't spend any time on it) then I boot up linux, try to load X and it says "your GeForce 6600GT needs the added power connector, plug it in idiot." .. my fault, not even a con

Other Thoughts: like I said, buy this if it's cheap, otherwise I'd go with eVGA as they're domestic and are very competitively priced.

4 out of 5 eggsTight Budget

Pros: Inexpensive, especially with the rebate. Decent proformance for those on a tight budget. Small and light, will fit in most cases. Newegg's amazingly fast and reliable shipping.

Cons: Very badly beaten by any 6800 class GPU. The 6600GT's faster RAM and clock speeds do not make up for it having only 8 pixel pipes. Even vanilla 6800s (which are hard to find now) have 12 pixel pipes and 5 vertex pipes and many can be unlocked to 16 p.pipes and 6 v.pipes. The 6600GT uses a different GPU which is maxed at 8 pixel pipes.

Other Thoughts: This card coupled with a decent cpu (3.0GHz and up) and 1GB of memoey, will play most new games at medium settings, but don't think about turning on AA and AF unless you plan on running the game in 800x600 or even less in some games.

4 out of 5 eggsRuns too hot!!

Pros: Great performance runs quake4/doom 3 great F.E.A.R. with option tweaks near max & I got one with a red board which matches my MB

Cons: Heatsink sucks, goes from 40c with no load to over 70c and locks up whole system, tried replacing thermal compound with artic silver 5 with no prevail

Other Thoughts: buying VANTEC Iceberq and underclocking till I get it

5 out of 5 eggsThis card is great

Comments: This card installs easy, just plug in and install newest nvidia drivers. Easily overclocks automatically to 570core/1100memory. Does not run hot like others may claim. Plays UT2004 maxed out with AA and AS turned up, All in all a very good card, definitely worth the money.
