2 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: 6800XT w/ 512megs, seemed a good combo, but DOA

Cons: Should have listened to the other reviews of the card. Liked the specs, and thought I would take a chance. Card DOA. But Newegg great company for excahnge, and fast shipping. Went with another card manufacturer. Biostar seems to have a neg rep dealing with power caps.

Other Thoughts: READ Reviews, newegg great for customer service, but make sure you read what others are experiencing with different products.

2 out of 5 eggsLoud and Hot

Pros: This card seems to perform ok. I run under linux and it came up and looked fine with the nvidia drivers. I did fire up a movie, but I had sound issues- Not caused by the video card. It did play the movies much better then my old over the hill sound card.

Cons: This thing howls like a torched banshee! I was considering putting this in a mythtv box. But that's out of the question. I like quiet machines, and this won't help. After reading the reviews, I think I'm going to look for other quieter options. I was very disappointed, but I blame myself because I didn't look into the reviews for the open box card before I bought it.

Other Thoughts: This card may be ok if you replace the fan. I'm debating if I should go this route, or .....

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than expected

Pros: Was lucky enough to find this in an "Open Box" purchase from Newegg to replace my XFX GeForce 6200 card. Installed without a hitch. Instant 100% gain in FPS in NR2003, even after maxing all settings and turning on AA and AF. For $65, I couldn't be happier - I would have definitely paid the $100 MSRP if I couldn't get it open box. AWESOME upgrade for an aging AGP-based rig.

Cons: Like others have noted, it does seem to run hot. No big deal, I can get an aftermarket cooler for it if I think it's going to be a real problem. Other reviewers have noted problems with durability - obviously I haven't owned it long enough to have an opinion on that, but it is in the back of my mind.

Other Thoughts: As there was no warranty expressed or implied with open box, I decided to see what RT could do, and *VOILA* - just like that I had unlocked all 16 pixel pipelines and all 6 vertex pipelines, gaining me an extra 30+ FPS - no artifacting, completely stable.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: WOW! not many AGP cards left on the market, but I would recommend this one. When my last card went TU, I had to replace it...man, thought this was a lateral move, but it was an upgrade... good thing I bought 2, much better than my 5700 oc as well. Nice bang for the buck for those who are trying to keep an old mobo up and going.

Cons: ordered 2, one was DOA. RMA went smooth, even though I didn't follow directions very well.

Other Thoughts: well worth the money if you aren't quite ready for PCI express.

1 out of 5 eggsBad luck? I don't think so...

Pros: I can't really think of any, except that the PC booted and the card was detected

Cons: DOA, the card was parc (<- backwards) when I installed it. It was dead, straight up. It took forever to get, nearly 2 weeks. The fan's extremely loud, and it runs extremely hot from the time I booted up, to the time I shut down, which took about 4 min. I can't imagine how hot it would run when it games.

Other Thoughts: Good thing it wasn't for me, it was for a customer of mine.

3 out of 5 eggsBurn-out

Pros: Precisely what I was looking for.

Cons: Like someone else said, my PC died one fine day and wouldn't boot up unless I replaced the card. Could see smoke from the fan, which pretty much melted.

Other Thoughts: $100 for this? Get something else.

2 out of 5 eggsWhen it works, it works.... but.

Pros: Works great and unlocks with RT.

Cons: Fan is noisy. Vid Card dies out of warranty. From other reviews this occurs often.

Other Thoughts: Yeah, it's an older video card. I've had it for a year and a half. Playing HGL my computer went down. Wouldn't power up. When I unplugged the external power source, the PC would fire up, but when plugged in... nothing. Vid Card Shot. Must be a short somewhere. Getting something new.

2 out of 5 eggsOVerheating Junk

Pros: When I bought this it booted up fine and was a dramatic increase in graphic frames...

Cons: It over-heated often, and it would randomly cause random colored squares across the screen. Nothing would crash, but it would change ALL of the coloring.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a cheap fix, go for it, but if you need a good device for a long period of time, go with EVGA.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good card works well with xp, however once I got vista it really showed how it was just an average card.

Cons: The fan is really loud and it runs hot. The fan has broken on this card 3 times for me and eventually i just stopped replacing it.

Other Thoughts: This is an older card and the fan is not very good. I would just suggest getting a better AGP card or do what I did and just upgrade to PCI express.
