Grade A card
- Pros: This really is a great bargain card, under $100 dollars and it can run anything you throw at it. Great overclocker, I coupled it with a Biostar board and an Intel core 2.
- Cons: It doesn't wash my dishes
- Other Thoughts: I bought this for a new build for my sister and was torn between this and the 8800GS but ultimately chose this because of it's price to performance ratio. Awesome card for the occasional and hardcore gamer alike.
- Pros: Cheap, easy to overclock, and runs cool compared to cards by other manufacturers. Idling at 44c with stock heatsink while overclocked is pretty fantastic nowadays.
- Cons: None so far.
- Other Thoughts: If you want to SLI, get a strong power supply.
Excellent card, but give it some room to breathe.
- Pros: Dirt cheap, even without the rebate. Cooler is large, but fairly quiet under normal circumstances. Pretty good framerates for *most* games, overclocks nicely.
- Cons: None, really. Needs extra space in front of the fan, making this effectively a three-slot card.
- Other Thoughts: Unfortunately my MicroATX motherboard requires me to put my sound card right next to the fan on the 8600, which alone raises the temperature and decible level 5 degrees/5db, respectively. It is pretty quiet (not silent) as long as the fan's airflow is not blocked in this fashion. Other than this, I've had no complaints, and clocked it to 720/2100 without incident.
