5 out of 5 eggsTo the moron below me

Pros: Excellent card

Cons: None but the price

Other Thoughts: To the person below me... you're not very bright. This card does NOT get 8500 on 3DMark05. Read my review, right below yours. It gets 10K+ WITH NO OVERCLOCKING if you have a system that isn't a worthless piece of dung.

Specs:
AMD FX-55 @ 3GHz
2GB OCZ PC4000 RAM @ 500MHz/3-4-3-8
BFG Tech 7800GTX OC 512MB
X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS Sound Card
Thermaltake Shark case
BigWater SE Liquid cooling for CPU
XION 600 Watt PowerReal PSU
Plextor SATA DVD Dual Layer burner
Samsung 160GB 7200RPM HDD
WD 36.7GB 10000RPM HDD

Just cuz yer system don't benchmark with a darn doesn't mean you should dis a card. And the X1900XTX BARELY BEATS THIS CARD. And X1800 can only beat this card with some pretty ridiculous overclocking, I know because I've seen it myself.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet Card

Pros: POWER!, this thing packs all the goodies and clocks to match

I run every game out there with max setting and max AA and AF and still get sweet FPS

I OCed it from 580/1750 to 630/1860 with no troble at all

Cons: Beware if you have a mini-ATX case!
you can run it just fine in a mid-ATX if you got the space.

Other Thoughts: If you can get the money for one of these, completely worth it

2 out of 5 eggsNot that good... anymore

Pros: Really high performance. Good for die-hard Nvidia fans. Runs cool.

Cons: Horrible value. Really hard to get.

Other Thoughts: Lets think about this card now. It costs xxx dollars, and it only scores about 8500 in 3dMark05. A friend of mine decided to put up the money to buy it more than a month ago and it just cant keep up with the 19**xt I've had for a few days now. If you hate A*I enough to spend an extra $xxx (at the time of this review) for less performance, then buy this. Otherwise, it may be smart to wait for Nv***as next and watch the prices on all of the cards drop.

5 out of 5 eggsIf you can afford it, GO FOR IT.

Pros: Owned it for over 2 months now and never had any problems with it. A single one of these cards will keep up with two normal 7800GTX 256MBs in SLI on most games and benchmarks. I've gotten over 10K on 3DMark05 with this card, it is an amazing little machine. Plan on buying a second one as soon as I can get the money and the time to do it so I can go SLI and crush any other system's stock-speed scores.

It's quality craftsmenship. The heatpipes look aluminum on the outside but they are indeed copper (I accidentally scrapped one and it revealed copper underneath the silver coating). Dual DVI and VIVO is nice although I had to install the drivers manually and use the NVidia latest forceware due to incompatibility issues...

Cons: think maybe I got the wrong drivers disc with it. Other than that... the only con is the price, pretty much. It's worth the money if you can afford it. It's faster than anything else on the market. Not a spectacular overclocker but you don't really need to overclock it.

Other Thoughts: I've had this card for neigh on 3 months now. I love it. FEAR plays smooth as butter on "Maximum" settings, 3DMark05 is a breeze, I usually get around 10000 without any overclocking at all.
Newegg shipping was fast as was their service.

If you're looking in to buying two 7800GTXs, buy this one instead of the 256MB, then save up and get a second one later. It's truly worth it if you have the money.

My System Specs:
AMD FX-55 @ 3GHz (looking to upgrade to an FX-60)
3GBs of OCZ & Patriot RAM
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe Motherboard
Thermaltake Shark Case with Thermaltake BigWaterSE for CPU cooling
4 HDDs
BFG 7800GTX OC 512MB
X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS Sound Card
Plextor 16X DVD DL Burner

I call her Glory Rev. 2 ;-)

That's it, hope this review is helpful.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Performance, Worst Value

Pros: Best performing GPU available (or unavailable as vapourware) today.

Cons: Worst value for any graphics card available today.

Other Thoughts: A 5 rating for the excellent graphics performance. But honestly, if you're willing to pay this much for a video card, either go spend the money on something more useful or wait for nVidia's G71 or ATi's R580 based video cards.

5 out of 5 eggsUnobtainable!!

Pros: Outstanding performance!!! Flies without wings...

Cons: Price and availablilty

Other Thoughts: If you didn't get your hands on one when they first arrived, they've pretty much disappeared! Word is that they will be discontinued in 2/2006 although it looks like they are already extinct. Guess nVidia produced just enough to reclaim crown then poof....

5 out of 5 eggsPerformance

Pros: Best GPU out to date!

Cons: The price is a bit high....

Other Thoughts: Though I personally have not tested the differences performance wise on the 7800 GTX 256 and 512 there are many sites of test differences and all of them seem to come up the same- while if you are useing games at lower resolutions (1024x768) and no AA or AF you do not see much of a difference (when useing SLI or not)... BUT when you start puting on 6xAA and 16xAF and hiting higher resolutions is where the diferences start to appear in games between them. For example, one site tested Battlefield 2, a game that is REALLY pushing my old Radeon 9800 pro. The test showed that when runing it at 2048x1536 res. and 4x AA and 16x AF, the 512 leads the 256 in performace by over 60 percent (the 256 running at 28.6 FPS and the 512 running at 46.1 FPS!!) So, while you cant see much a differance at low resolutions and AA,AF settings You can see an incredile increase when you turn up the heat!

5 out of 5 eggsAWsome!

Pros: This thing is so fantastic. Its freakishly fast, quiet and doesnt use a whopping amount of power compared to other high end cards.

Cons: Expensive. 2-slot cooler, though i did not mind at all. Expensive and...expensive

Other Thoughts: I upgraded from a 7800GT knowing this would be quite an improvement, but i didnt think i would see it as much as i have! I love this card, i dont have sli, so i wcouldnt buy 2 7800GTX's which is what i would have done. But this is a single card beats! Even more so in SLI as i have heard! If ya got the money, do it to it!
