EXCELLENT CARD
- Pros: Great card for an aging AGP system
- Cons: none that I can think of
- Other Thoughts: Make sure you have a beefy power supply (350+ watts I'd recommend). Since the card has a Molex connector, it requires power from the PS to keep the fan going. You'll know you have issues if your PC starts acting odd - I had to select "VGA Mode" from the recovery menu a few times and reinstall drivers. That, and your games work fine one moment but then don't the next (I mean games like Fallout 3, that require a good graphics card).
I had those problems with a similar graphics card (this one worked fine, but my PC died just as I was installing it - it was NOT the video card, because the card worked fine in another system).
Excellent card
- Pros: This card is ideal for a system that might not have a PCI Express card. I own an old Pavilion that I bought for my first PC a few years back, and after going through a couple of cards I can say without a doubt that this is the best one I have ever used. This card can run any Source engine game at mid to high specifications and can run most newer games at lower specs.
- Cons: Though this card is awesome, Windows 7 seems to have big issues with it. I saw a drop in performance from 30 FPS to around 2 FPS in Team Fortress 2 after upgrading. If you're planning on using 7, pass.
Great Video Card
- Pros: I bought this card for an older AGP mother board operating on Windows 7 Ultimate. I had to return a previous Radeon video card because the manufacturer's
drivers would not load into the machine properly. This card installed easily and quickly with great results. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this card for other AGP applications.
- Cons: None so far
- Other Thoughts: Very good value.
