5 out of 5 eggsGreat card after 6 years of service, may it RIP.

Pros: For a GT series card, the 9800GTOC 1GB with it's massive 256bit memory bus, holds it's own against later models of GeForce cards quite well. Very fast card for it's series and supported extremely well in all versions of Windows as well as great support in Linux and BSD systems.

Cons: The 9800GTOC 1GB does produce a bit of heat, but it's a single slot card, so expected it.

Drivers stopped at the 340.xx series, but drivers are still supportive of all modern operating systems, so still a "+".

BFGTech is no longer a company and all service for their products has ceased.

Other Thoughts: After 6 years of faithful service, my card finally kicked the bucket, but it went down fighting like mad. Best video card, hands down, I've ever owned outside my previous card, a GeForce 4 Ti 4600. Drivers were well featured, even though against later released cards, it was a speed demon on steroids that came out swinging. Oddly, the card displays as a rebranded ECS model, so I'm guessing BFGTech purchased ECS models for their own purposes.

My card died after a freeze up and only would load the Windows Default Display driver and the Linux nouveau module showed up with green vertical lines in the framebuffer display so either the RAM or GPU gave out.

If I could have gotten it repaired, I would have as the card had a lifetime warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks GREAT

Pros: AMAZING CARD! I went from a GeForce 7200 (which is basically like not having a graphics card considering I do a TON of gaming. I have a decent computer, an AMD x2 Athlon 4200+ Dual Core, 1.5gb of ram, and a BFG Tech GeForce 9800 Overclocked with 1gb of on-board DDR3 ram. A beautiful setup, I mainly got the card so I could play Team Fortress 2 and I can run the game on max settings and maintain a whopping 40 fps in the middle of a 10 man firefight while playing online. I highly reccommend this card if you are any sort of gamer.

Cons: It took 2 days to get here, LOL.

4 out of 5 eggsRMA sadness

Pros: I ordered one of these cards a few months back and was amazed at how well it works. So I saved my money and ordered another to SLI. Dead out of the box, I spent a few days trying everything I could to make it work but boohoo. I switched cards and found my answer.

Cons: None its dead its dead

Other Thoughts: Thanks to New Egg there service is so good I will have a new one about the end of next week 5 eggs to there service department.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great card can play most current games on high or ultra. Great price for the card.

Cons: The BFG support center is very lazy to answer phone from customers. I think they never pick up phone calls.
The Rebate thing is a joke. -.-

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mid-range card

Pros: As other reviews have stated, excellent speed for the price, more than I can currently use. Occupies a single slot.

Cons: Also stated in other reviews, tends to run fairly hot, 50-60 degrees C. idle, but not much more than that at high usage.

A little on the large side.

The rebate for this disappeared right after I ordered, but who cares? They take months on average to be completed.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have the space inside your computer. It fit just snugly in my ThinkCentre M51, where it sits right next to the CPU heatsink, but happens to blow all the heat out of the grilled front of the computer, a nice side-benefit of the weird and now extinct mBTX formfactor.

Don't forget the power requirements, such as either a 6-pin pci-e power connector, or 2 Molex connectors (with a far enough reach for your case) for use with the included adapter.

If you can get the rebate, try snatching it before it disappears.

Now if only I had a better processor...

4 out of 5 eggsvery nice

Pros: very fast.
it can run any of my games without lagg at 1600x900 res (but i dont noe about any1 else i have a gaming comp so dont complain if it laggs for u)

Cons: It gets a bit warm(for me i have a ton of fans in my comp so it doesn't get too hot for me)
Its freaking huge.

Other Thoughts: It is one of the best graphics cards u can buy for less than $150. For some people it might be a con that you need a lot of stuff in your computer for it to run.(such as 425 watt 12v power supply)i have a 420w 12v power supply from turbolink and yet my computer can still run it even though its not 425. I think its just all the cool specs my comp has so don't take chances with that.

1 out of 5 eggsPitiful nVidia, pitiful

Pros: * Great graphics

Cons: * No fullscreen overly support (apparently disabled as of forceware 176 and beyond and not available on generation 8 and later cards).
* idiotic, pethetic, backwards way of doing half-thought through fullscreen video out to TV
* Runs a little warm, but GPU chips by specification run hotter and thus are designed to run a little warm
* Power hungry

Other Thoughts: I don't have problems with BFG, they make excellent stuff but nVidia has shot themselves in the foot. I wish I would have known that nVidia disabled fullscreen overlay in the hardware as well as the drivers rendering any tweaking useless.

Returning the card.

No problems with BFQ, Newegg, or UPS. My beef is with nVidia.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice card, runs every thing i throw at it great.

Cons: It runs hot, i only have a 440watt psu and the card is underpowered.

Other Thoughts: im going to get a 650watt psu. If you get the card get at least a 500 or 550 watt psu. Or you might and or will cook your card.
