5 out of 5 eggsBest AGP card on Newegg for now

Pros: NVidia cards just seem to have fewer issues and this thing is all business for an agp box.

Cons: no Directx 10, that'll be a con someday. I couldn't find the old agp title holders (X1950xt, 7950gt)

Other Thoughts: the hd2600's have dx10, but they seemed buggy and this thing clobbers most of the hd2600xt's specs. ps: this thing needs a power supply with 20 amp rails and I saw something like 480w mentioned as a minimum, so you can't just plug it in an old box with a standard power supply or it'll do starnge things. I bumped a 380w up to a 700w to be sure, but a cheap 600w or a nice 500w would do

Cons: The last gasp for AGP.

Other Thoughts: Very happy with XFX's overclocking friendly lifetime warranty. Will definitely buy from agian.

5 out of 5 eggsgood fast delivery

Pros: I can fianally run max resolution on my games.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: If you order a Nvidia 7900 gs, consider the size. it is as long as the motherboard and the power is on the end. But What a card. comes with overclocking software

1 out of 5 eggsXFX and their "Cards"

Pros: NONE

Cons: Will die on you in 2 weeks to a month. Horribly designed card.

Other Thoughts: XFX has the WORST customer service/ technical support I have ever seen! I have called three times and waited on hold for 20 minutes each time. I waited on hold today 20 minutes just to be forwarded to a freaking voice mail! This is ridiculous! Still waiting for RMA to be shipped...they have had it for about a week now.

5 out of 5 eggsKiller card!!!

Pros: Literally THE BEST AGP card you can buy.

Cons: price.. too bad AGP cards cost so much more than their PCI-E brethren.

Other Thoughts: Benchmarks on this card put it only slightly below that of the mid-high 8 series. I was quite pleasantly surprised to see this high end of a card made for the aging AGP slot. Newegg as always rocks!

3 out of 5 eggsThis card for This cheap?

Pros: Smelled good =-D

looks S3XY

makes my PC about 18%faster overall.

ups my FPS in sand an dreas from about 14 to around high 30's to mid 40s

all games automatically set all settings to max, =-D wheee

Cons: for some reason, i think it may have todo with my power supply but i cannot hold a stable overclock with a minor volt tweak =-( but i was able to overclock from 2.2ghz to 2.4ghz stable i was running at 2.589ghz but now its unstable that fast =-(

pushing my powersupply to the limits =-(

took over 45minutes to figure out it was my overlock that made the drivers unstable and froze my system,, i checked everything else before i moved to that. =-D

Other Thoughts: 2.2ghz original
2.4ghz OC
Socket 754

1gb DDR PC400 ram

1 Epox + PRO mobo

Nforce 3 250bg chipset

1X 160gb server Western digital hard drive

1X200gb Server Western digital hard drive

i use server drives, = less expensive + longer warranty

1combo drive and 1 floppy drive.

450watt ZALMAN powersupply
=44$ and change, to bad they stopped supporting there products, this powersupply is solid as a 5foot thick steel door.

Blood red case and 3 extra fans.

dont have a aftermarket cooler so i took a report plastic cover and took out all of my PCI covers and made a air scoop directly over the intake for the GPU fan, *protect your investment to the best within your abilities.*

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card!!!!

Pros: Used this for an entry level gaming machine built for a friend. Its a very stable card for the platform intended. Super easy install. No issues as described from the other entries. Though initial install should be done with the drivers from the supplied CD. Any updates should be done directly from nVidia's website. Installed Gears of War for testing. OH YEAH BABY!

Cons: Not really thrilled with the black hood that is mounted along the top edge of the card, its both un-necessary and blocks airflow from any side mounted case fans.

Other Thoughts: System Installed: Intel P-4 3.0E w/ 800FSB. Intel 875-PBR motherboard, A-Data PC-3200, 2.0Gb, Hitachi 160Gb Deskstar u-ATA-133 Hdd, Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1, Okia 600 Watt PSU, Cooler Master CAC-5 case, and additional trimmings.

1 out of 5 eggsworked great for 48hrs

Pros: Worked great for 48hrs. and really helped out my older system.

Cons: After using the card for 2 days, it began to contently display graphical glitches even in boot-up and BIOS screens. I am still waiting for RMA.

Other Thoughts: I would not buy this product again.

3 out of 5 eggsDO NOT UPDATE DRIVERS!!!

Pros: see my other post (Varth)

Cons: I have been doing a lot of testing on this card, mainly focusing on it's cooling, and I found out that if you attempt to use this card with the latest Forceware drivers (169.21), the GPU's fan will become locked at 11% speed and WILL NOT throttle up when it gets hot. I attempted to unlock the fan speed in nTune but it would revert to 11% every time. It went from 44C idle to 65C immediately when I started any game. It was still rising and I didn't have the guts to keep going to see how hot it would get (lol). 65 C is within the tolerance, but I have a very good feeling that it would get a lot hotter than that. This is most likely the whole reason why this card keeps burning out on people.

Other Thoughts: You MUST NOT update the drivers on this card until XFX does something about this. I tested the old drivers, and it solved the problem (it ran at 41C idle and 53-55C in 3D mode). I have contacted XFX about this and am awaiting a response. I will let everyone know when that happens.
