5 out of 5 eggsBudget/Performance

Pros: This card performed up to all of my expectations. On a basis of stock and over-clocking performance. Take into mind, this car comes with an exceptional cooler if your case is laid out right, with a properly placed fan this card will run cooler than its counterparts with built in fan systems.

Cons: The cooling system is a double edged sword though, It doesn't move air on its own. In a poorly ventilated case it will not perform its own duties properly. Leaving you with an under performing card or worse, a crispy one.

Other Thoughts: I fully recommend this card on a bang for your buck silent solution.

WoW-60-90 FPS maxed with full AA/AF
FEAR-40-56 FPS maxed out with mid range AA/AF
BF2-54-71 FPS Maxed out mid AA/AF
Crysis-?-60FPS Mid/High settings no AA/AF (Varied due to intensity of some situations)

THis card Will not play crysis on absolute max, or Bioshock for that matter, and will not perform well on farcry two later this year when its released, however a second one may change that.

Overclocked an average of 31%core/22%mem.

Purchasing another for SLI testing soon.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome in SLI

Pros: Amazing, bought two of these for about what an 8800 cost and I'm out performing my friends overclocked 8800.

Cons: The fan-less cooling system isn't as effective as fans but you don't have the noise.

Other Thoughts: It already runs EVERYTHING maxed with good fps but I think I'm going to start overclocking them just for fun.

4 out of 5 eggsA follow up

Pros: Fast. overclocked this to 700/2000, runs faster than a GTS.

Cons: Overheats very quickly, so buy this! google "FC-2000-B" and place in right underneath the card in a pci slot. it will cool it down 15 more degrees, so you can overclock it twice as much.

Other Thoughts: i doubled the speed of this card, and im still running at about 52 degrees celsius. and that is under HEAVY stress, such as company of heroes, maxed out. but, getting 60 FPS! however, battlefield 2142 is annoying, i dont think its the card, its just a laggy game. this card eats FEAR alive, and runs crysis on medium-high settings overclocked at 40-50 FPS. very good!

5 out of 5 eggsHeres a little secret...

Pros: This card runs like a cheetah. Im old school-was doubtful at first- overclocked it just to see what i could do...and wow! Runs UT3 full everything @ 1280x1024 you name it. I have 3 GHZ dual core with 1gig ddr2 ram. My little girl loves the Dark Walkers. Didnt want to pay 500+ for a 8800 gt so got this overclocked it and, hell, just about where 8800 gtx would be not overclocked. Good show Nvidia.

Cons: My little girls happy-so, im happy.

Other Thoughts: DOWNLOAD NTUNE from nvidia-overclock this midrange bad boy and youll have a 500 dollar performer that makes you feel gooooood.

1 out of 5 eggsNice specs but...

Pros: Great specs

Cons: HDCP stinks. I'll never buy a card with it... Neither should YOU!

Other Thoughts: Don't ever buy an HDCP (crippled) video card, ever.

5 out of 5 eggsXFX Passive Cooled GeForce 8600GT PCI-E

Pros: Lifetime warranty, no maintenance passive cooling, crystal sharp images and great color. I don't run games but I do a lot of video and am very pleased with this board. I read the reviews and precautions and this showed me to mate the board with an NVidea based motherboard chipset (I chose the MSI 7350: P6N Platinum mb). The combination works great with no issues from a complete new install. The passive cooling works fine and it is a relief not to have to worry about a video card fan for once.

Cons: Where was XFX during my troubled ATI days :-( .... ??

Other Thoughts: This is a large video card. My mb is a full ATX and is housed in a full ATX case so I had room between the card and my hard drives. If you have a small case, you should visit the XFX site and get the dimensions so that you can prove to yourself the card will fit.

Also, for some reason the brilliance and clarity are a bit subdued when run through a KVM switch. But when directly hooked to the monitor, the result is very very nice. Does anyone know why?

3 out of 5 eggsVery Tall

Pros: N/A - Did not get get a chance to actually use it, it did look like a nice card

Cons: It did not fit in my case (nMediaPC n400b) because it stuck out too far and up to far to fit in the case properly. Could not put the cover on the case.

4 out of 5 eggsResolution Issues

Pros: I have owned this products for some months now and am fully satisfied with it's performance, quality, temperature, and ability to run stable for long periods of time.

Cons: On the contrary, if you have a monitor that requires 1440x900 like me, good luck. It is supposed to support this resolution, which it does, however, apparently the 8600 series has problems with this particular resolution. It was not fixed by driver updates, repairing windows, setting custom resolution (at least not permanently, temporarily it worked perfectly) - that seems to be an nvidia problem with their drivers as it does not save to profile.

Other Thoughts: Great card and I would recommend it to anyone still just as long as they don't have a 1440x900 native resolution. Great for gaming whether CS or LOTR.
