5 out of 5 eggsExcellent product / Excellent price

Pros: The price is right for this card. I purchased four of these for a dual monitor computer lab. They took about 30 minutes to install (all four) without any hickups. Windows recognized them, but the software was still necessary in order to setup the monitors as I want them to display.
I highly recommend this card.

Cons: No issues --

Other Thoughts: You get plenty for your dollar on this deal. If you want more memory, you pay more, that is just how it goes. I use Photoshop CS3 with this and Flash CS3 ... no problems at all.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Overall card!

Pros: Worked well for me for a year now and still going! It's played Crysis on low-medium settings without substantial lag(just for higher graphic games turn down or off the shadows!) Works well and is considered a "budget" card!

Cons: Doesn't have SLI.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend getting the lower ram 8400 card with 256mb. you'll probably be disappointed! This should be the lowest quality you should go for mild gaming!

2 out of 5 eggsHDTV Monitor Problems

Pros: Good specs and a low price. Plenty of onboard memory so that the computers main memory can be used by applications.

Cons: Will not work with HDTV monitors even with a HDMI cable.

Other Thoughts: I bought this with high hopes it would alleviate my memory problems, and it simply will not work with my HDTV monitor.

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry to hear that you have had this problem. Any problems connecting this card to an HDTV monitor are likely caused by the EDID information stored in the monitor itself. Please make a support ticket at xfxforce.com or contact me directly at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com so that we can be of assistance.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, medium level card

Pros: Gives adequate FPS on BF2 and COD2. Call of Duty 2 gets about 20 fps on max settings.

Cons: FAN is LOUD! Loudest fan in my case. Also stock thermal material is unacceptable. I had a tube of Arctic Silver 5 in my drawer and put it on there.
Before Arctic Silver= 51C idle
After Arctic Silver= 42C idle
Well worth it.

Other Thoughts: Fairly good budget card, i like the one DVI and one VGA slots.

3 out of 5 eggsnot for Vista....

Pros: 512MB, DX10 for 5x-6x price range... not bad...

Cons: upgrading from 256mb 7100 gs on Vista Basic PC, my lowest base subscore for Windows Aero ( iknow aero and 3d dont apply on basic, but....) dropped from3.2 to 2.4. Business 3d and gaming increased from 3.0 to 3.9. was hoping to see increases across the board.

Other Thoughts: Vista basic, running 2 X 1 gb standard pc5300 DDr2, athlon 64 X2 4600+, all other VXE subscores minimum 5.0...no overclocking applied - default settings only. bottom line... probably want to invest a little more in newer archtecture; this card might be a decent budget upgrade for an older XP pc, but not likely a choice for serious gamers.

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of junk

Pros: Cheap.

Cons: Just about everything else.

Low 3dMark06 score. Died 6 months after purchase. Contacted XFX to RMA it, waiting for response.

Other Thoughts: Spend a few extra bucks and get an 8500 GT or 8600GT. Better yet spend a little more and get an 8800GT

5 out of 5 eggsI figured it out

Pros: Runs most of my games with maxed out settings at 1024X768, including ETQW, BF2, EVE Online (Premium Content), ARMA is about the only exception, need to keep the settings around the middle. Most games also function pretty well at medium to low settings at 1680X1050, and medium to high in between those two settings.

Cons: Figured out the problem I was having earlier, when this card ran slower than my 7100GS. I need to turn the second monitor off, for OpenGL games like ETQW. Otherwise everything is great for the price.

Other Thoughts: It's about time that there's a low end card that is decent at playing most of these games at a decent resolution. BF2 looks GREAT with Shadows, I've never been able to do that before and it really ads another element to the game.

3 out of 5 eggsI'm a little confused

Pros: Runs EVE great at 1600 X 1200, Runs BF2 fantastic at 1024X768, most of my other games are really old and it runs all of those just fine.

Cons: Runs ETQW slower than my 7100GS, which is what really confused me.

Other Thoughts: I don't know if it's the GL Drivers or the Megatextures in the Game, but ETQW is the only game that runs SLOWER on this card than on my 7100

Manufacturer Response:

It may be driver related, I would try a few different driver versions and if that does not help, please start a support ticket at www.xfxforce.com so the tech team can assist.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent Card

Pros: Runs well, cheap, double lifetime warranty, stays cool and is not to bad for casual gaming...

Cons: None really, unless your trying to run high end games with it, but this card really wasent meant for that, so not really the card's fault now is it?

Other Thoughts: With this card you can play WoW with medium to high setting at 1440x900 at around an average of 20-40 fps, a little lower in big raids/city's ... BF2 runs pretty good as well with about 30-45 fps...you CAN run other moderen games with it as well, but not to good...like Age of Conan will only run at about 12fps when your standing alone in solo-play...but like I said, not really a gaming card :p

2 out of 5 eggsGamers Beware

Pros: 512MB Dedicated RAM, and its pretty

Cons: The GPU does not have enough power
CS:S at 1440x900 wide on LOW settings 20-25fps
Runs around 60 fps if the screen res is really low. Otherwise stay away and get a 7th generation or go for the 8800 because this card is just for watching movies.

Other Thoughts: Is it too much to expect an 8th generation card to run like its 8th gen?
