XFX asks "how low can you go?" No, it isn't limbo, it's their low profile GeForce 8400 GS base card. Designed to fit into slim cases, it comes with a dual-DVI adapter so you can still run two monitors. The 256MB of GDDR2 memory supports today's advanced graphics. Just because it's small doesn't mean it's powerless. It is fully Vista and DX10 compatible.
All that power drives the Lumenex engine for lightning fast anti-aliasing and HDR Lighting for stunning realism. The Quantum Effects Technology utilizes advanced shader processors to deliver an entirely new level of physics effects that are rendered on the GPU leaving the CPU free to run the game engine and the AI.
The built in PureVideo HD Technology was specifically designed to enhance your HD experience. Built in hardware decode acceleration of H.264, VC-1, WMV and MPEG-2 HD and SD movies provides a theater-like experience. The HDCP compliant dual-link DVI ports allow you to play your HD-DVD and Blu-ray discs.

Good. but expensive
- Pros: Good for the 3d gaming, and slim pc user.
- Cons: Expensive.
I found in Korea, they sale Gforce 8600gt low profile video card (w/256mb, 128bit)for only $55.00
- Other Thoughts: I have hp s3200n slim pc.
So, i bought this video card. my power has just 160w. however, this video card runs good, still no problem. if you have slim pc, and want to play 3d game. buy this one. (i played call of duty 4, world in conflict.)
Used in HP Slimline s3100n
- Pros: Easy to install, I put it in a HP slimline case model s3100n. Just change the end plate with the short one provided in the box It fixed the problem with using windows media center for TV. Newegg sent it promptly
- Cons: No cons

bust for your buck
- Pros: fit nicely into my hp slimline, fast shipping, comes with low profile bracket included
- Cons: connections became loose and sloppy within a week, the weight of the dvi spillter for two monitors alone was enough to weigh down and start to destroy the connection in literally days. now the connection is loose and my screen will flash that annoying blue shade at me until i wiggle the connection. needless to say i am replacing this with a better msi 9400gt card later today and i have only had the card for a month.
Windows Experience Rating ----------------------------------- Graphics: 3.6 Gaming Graphics 4.5
XFX PVT86SWML4
- Pros: Installed easily, no problems, drivers loaded now my kids can play 3d games on their slimline case computer
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: None
Good buy
- Pros: Speedy shipping as usual. I have a Dell Optiplex 620 (small frame) and it is pretty easy to install. From opening the box, it took about 15min to install and run a diagnostics check. Quiet card, but I don't do any gaming.
- Cons: Haven't had any problems.
- Other Thoughts: Primary use is to hook the computer to my flat screen tv (panasonic plasma 42") and watch streaming netflix or other video, and this works great. I did have to buy an HDMI adapter to the card's DVI connector (around $10) from wallyworld.
