XFX took the 8800GS GPU and tweaked it so you can game like the Alpha Dog you are. The core clock has been boosted to 580MHz and the memory clock jumps to 1400MHz to wring every last ounce of performance from the 384MB of GDDR3 memory. Of course, if that isn't enough juice you can add another card in SLI.
All that power drives the Lumenex engine for lightning fast anti-aliasing and HDR Lighting for stunning realism. The Quantum Effects Technology utilizes advanced shader processors to deliver an entirely new level of physics effects that are rendered on the GPU, leaving the CPU free to run the game engine and the AI.
The built in PureVideo HD Technology was specifically designed to enhance your HD experience. Built in hardware decode acceleration of H.264, VC-1, WMV and MPEG-2 HD and SD movies provides a theater-like experience. The HDCP compliant dual-link DVI ports allow you to play your HD-DVD and Blu-ray discs.

761core/1750mem/1903shader
- Pros: This card o/c's like a beast. got 10,227 in 3dmark06. Great score for a budget price.
- Cons: the stock fan was a bit high pitched, nothing overall distracting. I replaced the cooling anyway.
- Other Thoughts: running in setup: e2180@3ghz, 2gb mushkin ram, asus p5k, 850watt psu.
continuation of previous review
-
- Pros: 8900+ on 3dmark (with a cheap CPU, see below)
I can max cod4 with 60fps solid. buy this card. the eVGA version has a slower clock, and no rebate and it is $25 more. Get this one.
- Cons: My camera can't focus (if you see the video review)
- Other Thoughts: the eVGA version has a slower clock, and no rebate and it is $25 more. Get this one. I replaced the LOUD fan with an Accelero S1 cooler and it never goes above 50C. If you are complaining about the fan noise level, then buy The accelero s1 and get this card, not the eVGA one and it is basically the same price. Accelero S1 is a 5 minute install.
--------- 23,000 on 3DMark03! lol 8900 on 3Dmark06 Core 2 Duo E4500 O/C'd to 2.65GHz 2GB DDR2 Ram 430w PSU 8800 GS

Can play CRYSIS on High Settings
- Pros: Pound for Pound performer. Capable of handling all the games I play, mainly CRYSIS and COD4- also BIO SHOCK on high or max settings. Performane is a little better when used in SLI.
- Cons: ( In my case.) With one GPU installed+sound card-availible ram is 2.5gig. Add the second card for sli and my available ram drops to 1.5 gig ? Loss of a full gig does not make me happy. I think I should have spent more on one 512mb GPU rather than two 384mb GPU's.
- Other Thoughts: motherboard = XFX 680i LT
GPU's = XFX 8800GS 384mb ( x2 ) Operating System - Windows XP SP3 Note: I swithed from Corsair XMS memory to the Dominators- 2 x 1024mb- I'm amazed. I see more detail!
- Pros: Worked great out of the box. Installed newest drivers from nvidia's site and got 10K 3Dmarks with an e6600 at 3ghz. Runs relatively-cool for a single-slot cooler, and the price is good. I usually buy cards from their competitor, but for a budget build this is a great videocard, and will provide SM4.0 and DirectX10 compatibility for future use.
- Cons: None that I can see. Not super-powerful but more than enough for moderate gaming at medium resolutions.
- Other Thoughts: Bought this for a customer's budget build to use with Age of Conan. They haven't complained yet, and seem satisfied with it after using an AthlonXP system previously.
Great Card
- Pros: Best Card for your dollar. There are better cards but considering what one is paying for this, is an absolutely great video card. I bought it for my new system and it runs Age of Conan in high settings with absolutely no lag. Want something nice, not too expensive ? this is it.
- Cons: the fan is a bit loud but you'll eventually get use to it. Is not annoying or anything, but the only con I can think of.
- Other Thoughts: it runs age of conan in high settings ! I never knew such a beautiful game could be created ! best eye candy in gaming history!
