5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card! No Problems, HDMI!!!!!

Pros: Physics Engine is awesome! This card has runs my 47" Toshiba LCD thru HDMI. I have crystal clear gaming with no problems. Highly recommended card to replace the 8000 series. Core clock and memory clock are some of the best you'll find for the money. XFX does it again!

Cons: Fan runs a little loud on boot, that's it

4 out of 5 eggsWorks very well

Pros: Runs the games I play maxed out and im using a non 2.0 Mb asus m2n vista edition. Playing COD 4 and Age of conan

Cons: Card kinda started some artifacting this week, tried switching up drivers, Mb drivers etc. nothing seemed to fix it then got the idea to change the monitor plug on the back to the other side and it fixed it for now dont have a clue what it was.

Other Thoughts: wanted another one of these for Sli but seems its been replaced with the alpha dog version and im not so sure these will work together

4 out of 5 eggsSturdy

Pros: Great card for the money. Runs graphically intense applications such as Call of Duty 4 (which it comes with) really well, even for a single card setup. It runs Crysis with everything on High in a fairly playable manner.

Cons: It's kinda noisy. But then, I can't hear myself think over the sound of my 8800GTX under load.

Other Thoughts: It doesn't beat the 8800GT in the benchmarks, but then, the 8800GT isn't as cheap either.

3 out of 5 eggsDoesnt play nice with PCIe 1.0

Pros: Quiet, much more so than others told me before hand. I am very pleased since I dont like my puter to sound like a jet engine. And during one of its few stable periods COD4 (which was bundled! Sweet!!) looked amazing.

Cons: Slight incompatibility issue with PCIe 1.0 slot. Boot process hangs at the Windows welcome screen and if the computer completes the boot it typically freezes shortly thereafter. I have downloaded the latest drivers. Despite XFX employee comment on previous review, there are serious issues with the backwards compatibility. Now I am faced with either returning the card and settling for an 8600 or upgrading my MOBO too. =(

Manufacturer Response:

The video card is designed and does work with PCI-e 16x 1.0. If you are having issues start a support ticket at www.xfxforce.com . Also check with your motherboard manufacture for any BIOS updates and the previous issue with some of the 8 series cards and VIA chipsets was a motherboard issue an not video card manufacture.

4 out of 5 eggsNot for pcie 1.0 boxes...

Pros: This card comes with COD4 which it owns in terms of performance and function. It owns BF2 and BF2SF, as well as 2142. It could not play FEAR combat, San Andreas MP, or other older level games. It has backward compatibility to work with XP, but it is aching for Vista or at least x64 windows.

Cons: Can only provide baseline functions with pcie 1.0 mobo. Can not stop running the fan. Noisy. Power costly. Long card.

Other Thoughts: Looks awesome in case. Sleek design and decent heatsink.

THIS IS A VISTA GPU AND IS MEANT FOR PCIE 2.0 MOBOS.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card.

Pros: This card is amazing. Runs everything I throw at it max settings at and above 80 FPS. COD4, BF2, Pirates of the Burning Sea, Flight Sim X, Battle for middle earth 1 and 2. ALL MAX settings 1440x900 NEVER below 80FPS.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: System specs- EVGA 650i ULTRA mobo, 2GB 800mhz. REAPER OCZ RAM, Creative X-fi extreme, XFX 9600GT XXX Alpha Dog, 150GB Raptor, Intell Allendale 2.2 @ 2.8. And I got 10,851 in 3Dmark06. Amazing card! When OC to 770 core, and 1180 memory it beats the stock clocked 8800GT.

5 out of 5 eggsPuts the WOW on Vista and DX10

Pros: Speed is superb!!!..for the price, you cant get a better video card. I was a little worried that Call of Duty 4 would be to much for this card.. but i ran everything max detail...and runned smooth like butter. Vista..i was not a fan but with this card in my rig and DX10...im willing to give it a second chance.. i had previously an ATI HD 2600 PRO card..so this was a huge upgrade... running dreamscene plus a bunch of other applications..the card was able to provide a great WOW experience.

Cons: None... just wished...the box included a Nvidia sticker or a XFX sticker for my rig. :oP

Other Thoughts: What can i say.. for someone who is looking for an unexpensive but great video card, you cant go wrong with this card. Ah... and the great thing... the difference between the standard version and this XFX XXX ALPHA DOG EDITION...is so little, i dont see a reason why people will not buy this card.
