- Pros: Great card, looks good, doesn't take an extra power cord
- Cons: Big, power-hungry
- Other Thoughts: Won't work in any Shuttle computer, have tried in a 250w and a 300w version, ah well.
9600GT
- Pros: Beats the **** out of an 8500GT
- Cons: I once owned an 8500GT
- Other Thoughts: With midrange products offering as much power as this PC gaming may be heading for a comeback
XFX 9600gt review
- Pros: Was able to play UT3 and COD4 extremely well(all settings on max) on Samsung 21.6 inch screen and Dell 8400 with 3.8ghz pentium 4 (single core), 2gigs memory on XP. Very sluggish with Crysis. When placed in my new Dell XPS 420 with Duo Core 8400, 3gigs 800 speed memory on Vista, Crysis was very very playable at 1280 *960 with all settings on High except for water(Very High), with 2x anti-aliasing.
- Cons: Absolutely none for $ spent. ($99 after rebate + tax). Need to wait for 45nm version of 260 to play Crysis on Very High.
- Other Thoughts: Shining example of how a fast video card can excel when combined with a fast multi core-processor. Overclocks like champ using Nvidia nTune. Usually overclock GPU to 735 from 650 and memory about 4% with fan at 90-100% only when playing Crysis or Warhead. Sure it would probably go higher but no need.
