5 out of 5 eggsPowerhouse in a small package

Pros: This card fit perfectly in my midtower case. I didn't have to reposition anything, and it simply popped right in. Can't ask for much more than that.

This thing cranks out some pretty slick graphics. My monitor supports up to 1280x1024, so I can fool around with all the antialiasing and shader details that I want.

It runs Left 4 Dead flawlessly (I can't even remember how it looked on my old system - Athlon XP 3200+, Radeon X1950 AGP), and FarCry 2 looks fantastic, even at medium settings. I haven't been arsed to push FC2 yet, but I'll give it a shot down the road.

I also work with Photoshop CS4, and this 9800 has given me a lot of processing power. As you can imagine, my old system ran CS2, but it didn't run it very well.

Cons: The fan is noisy, and the card gets hot: 70C under load is around the average. Though, like some other reviewer said XFX has reported that it's okay if it hits around 80C or so.

Other Thoughts: XFX is a fantastic company, along with Newegg, who got this to me just in time for me to put everything together.

Pros: This card is awesome!

Cons: A little long and forced me to reposition some hard drives, but which 9800's won't?

5 out of 5 eggsNice, Very Nice

Pros: Runs Direct X 10 nicely, Does not get too hot; after playing Far Cry for 1/2 hour it just went up to 70c and I have a mid-tower case. I called XFX and they said that it can get safely up to 80c!. Furthermore the manufacturer has a lifetime warranty and the card comes with Far Cry 2! A 50$ game, runs far cry 2 very nice at 1680X1050 on High settings, runs UT3 very nice at the same settings, can be over clocked easily to perform like a 9800gt XXX.

Cons: Since the price is right there are no cons to this card.

Other Thoughts: When you figure that you are getting a $50.00 game and a $30.00 rebate then the card actually costs only $70.00. For 70.00 a card this nice?? All I can say is WOW. I cannot wait until I SLI this baby.

4 out of 5 eggsGood card, wierd drivers

Pros: Great graphics, runs all games on high. XFX has really good tech support.

Cons: Drivers are strange. Don't download the latest drivers for this card. I'm running driver 178.24 and it works good. I downloaded the latest 181.20 and it was crash city. I uninstalled all my other drivers and, cleaned them with drive sweeper, and even called tech support, but could not get 181.20 to work. Reinstalled 178.24 and worked great.

Other Thoughts: Card is big, had to move the hard drive.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Excellent card. Runs everything i own.

Cons: Drivers are a little pain. When i got this card the current driver from nvidia actually caused far cry 2 to crash constantly. Just rolled back the driver to the one included with the card and it works great. So i'll have to wait to the next one to update.

I don't own two...yet.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card!

Pros: This card was very easy to install. So far it has handled every game I've thrown at it. Crysis, Far Cry 2, COD World at War. No problems what so ever.

Cons: None so far!

4 out of 5 eggsI'm Impressed

Pros: Graphics are amazing. I turned all the graphics of several games i have played all the way to the max, not only is it perfect but there is no lag, choppiness or any sign of the card not being able to keep up. Great improvement over my 7 series!

Cons: The driver disc that came with didn't have any drivers on it. It just tells you to visit their web site for the newest. That proved to be a bit of a pain. That has nothing to do with how the card works though. Just a bit of a hassle

Other Thoughts: I had to remove on of my spare drives to get this card to fit because of it's length. Be sure to check out size info and make sure there is enough space in your rig to not have any clearance issues.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat bang for the buck

Pros: I haven't tried Crysis yet, but the games I've played so far have been running totally smoothly with no choppiness. Fan is quiet and the dual DVI ports make me want to get a second monitor. :-)

Cons: Not sure if this is a Vista problem, a game problem, an nVidia driver problem, or the gfx card, but when I play Fallout 3 I need to close the Vista gadget side bar or else I will get intermittent flickering in that area of the screen while playing the game. The solution is simply to close the side bar before starting the game, but it's still a nitpick I wanted to point out.

Other Thoughts: The only reason I'm giving it 4 eggs is because the driver CD that came with it gave me an error when I was installing the software for the card. I had to go to the website, find the drivers, download them and then install. It works just fine, but it was an extra step that kept it from being a flawless install.

5 out of 5 eggsHot item, well worth the upgrade!

Pros: Moveded from a XFX 7600 gt gddr3 256mbx2 SLI cards to 1 of this (for now untill nextpaycheck What a difference it makes!!! Play bf2,WoW, crysis, farcry2, all on ultra high setting not 1 bit of choppyness or lag what so ever.Everything is so smooth and looks so real. PhysX is awsome! You will need a program to up the fan speed, does run a little hot.( at least how warm i keep my apt, and how i game) Well worth the money for this card to upgrade.

Cons: HUGH!!! Barley hangs above my north bridge almost touching thats about it as far as i see.Otherwise yes u can hear the fan but when your gaming and not paying attention u dont hear it. Like i said above, recommend to up the fan speed, not set high enough for the card as stock i think.

Other Thoughts: If you are hinting of buying this, go for it. So Well worth it. I recommend SLI to, no stopping ya:)

5 out of 5 eggsBest Midrange Card Ever

Pros: Runs every game smoothly and easily on full settings. As said before it can max out Crysis with ease as well as FC2.
Overclocks extremely well. Just as good as XXX but 10 Dollars cheaper. I did not have to upgrade my sissy 400W power supply to use this card. The affinity of stream processors coupled with PhysX helps take the strain off of my pathetic little 3600X2.

Cons: Runs a little hot with stock cooler but, also as said before, can be easily fixed with RIVA tuner. Ntune cannot be used because for some reason ntune does not let you touch the fan settings on this card.

Other Thoughts: I upgraded from an 8600GT XXX edition that I bought a year ago for the same price as this card and the performance difference is incredible. It is especially great because this card is essentially a drop in replacement for most mid to low range cards if you have a 400W power supply or greater which, in my opinion, makes this the ultimate midrange card.

I was very glad to hear that the cooler is MUCH quieter than my last card because my 8600 was so loud that I had to spend another $60 on an aftermarket cooler.

Why do so few people buy this card? The overall Bang-for-the-Buck factor is phenomenal on this card.
