4 out of 5 eggsHmm...

Pros: Wonderful card, with two games, makes the price seem like $300.00, plays FarCry2 maxed all settings at 35-70fps at all times, performs well in benchmarks as well.

Cons: My card makes a weird hissing/electronic squeal when i load a 3D application, such as ATI-Tool.

To clarify this is not the fan spinning up. Also does not effect the performance of the card...YET.

Other Thoughts: HAD to subtract 1 egg for the squeal, I am about to RMA this card, because whats the point of paying $400.00 for a card if you cannot enjoy the full effects of it due to un-wanted noise. Looks like its the good ole' 8800GT SLi for me

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome

Pros: So far awsome graphics cards. I installed two of them SLI and have not had any troubles so far. Unfortunately I don't do any heavy gaming but do a lot of graphics work and 3D modeling. With my busy schedule I have not had time to truely test these to the limit just yet

Cons: my only cons with these particular cards is the size. I had to get rid of my PCI sound card since these cards covered all other expansion slots. Although my motherboard could support 3 PCI's there is no way I could fit 3 in and SLI conficuration with this particular model of nVidia card.

5 out of 5 eggsALL these eggs can'rt be wrong !!!

Pros: Love it !!! Will not let you down. Running it at
1920x 1200 or the hiest a game will allow and it wants more. Also great price frome our buddies here!

Cons: Large like all the new cards in its class. just moved one HDD up one slot, no big deal.

Other Thoughts: I don't see where it's loud, If you have a case fan in the frunt and 2 in the back with the case some what seald up and a good power supply "not a chezzy one with a poor old 80mm that doesn,t carrie the hot air out the top"
AIR IN THE FRONT AND OUT OF THE BACK !!!! and u will be fine..

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Video Card

Pros: Excellent quality I've come to expect from XFX.

Cons: The unit is quite long.

Other Thoughts: It is a little longer than the XFX Geforce 8800 GTX I used previously, requiring that I slip off a plastic locking mechanism used to hold HDD's in place. I shifted them both down one slot to make room so the card could fit. Keep in mind I'm using a full size ATX case/tower.

It performs well, though I haven't benchmarked it. No issues observed during installation or use. I installed it with the latest NVIDIA drivers at the time (182.08) for Vista Ultimate 64-bit operating system.

Also, the power supply I ordered for this was defective upon power-up (waiting for replacement now), but it runs fine on the NZXT PP-600 I am currently using until the 800w arrives.

5 out of 5 eggsawsome single gpu card!!!!

Pros: cost, compared to dual gpu cards.. i was looking for a powerful card that was stable for my dell xps 730.. this card does all that.. from the moment i put it in this card it has worked flawlessly in my xps 730 with the 790i ultra mobo. i had a 4870x2 but the system was not stable and most games would crash but not with this card.. i am currently playing COD WAW, farcry2, il2 forgotton battles and crysis warhead and all games play smooth at very high settings mostly 1920x1200 and settings maxed.. just an awsome card, doesnt get any better than that.. blows that junk 9800gx2 out of the water!!!

Cons: none,.. got to be the best single gpu card on the market.. highly recommend this card!!!

Other Thoughts: i had dual 9800gx2's in my dell xps 730 and i could not stand them. constant lockups and crashes due to heat and severe microstutters made game play horrible. i can see why nvidia discontinued this card after 6 months.. its just two 8800gts's on a single board..

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This card burns through everything with ease. I had minimized farcry 2, forgotten about it, and started playing Cod:5 (both on max settings) and didnt realize I had both open until I alt tabbed to check the status of my video conversion. It flies, what more do you need?

Cons: It does run a smidge high, but that can easily be modified with nvidia system monitor or riva tuner, turned the fan up 16-17%, still quiet and nice and cool

Other Thoughts: AMD Phenom X4 3ghz Black
Asus M4A79 Deluxe
XfX GTX 285 Black
8gig OCZ Reaper DDR2 800
2x WD 1TB Green
Samsung 24" Gloss Black 5ms

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Put card into system: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550, 4GB DDR2 800,Asus P5W DH Deluxe Mobo, 1TB Samsund HDD

Upgraded from a Galaxy 8800GT that was overheating, this card works flawlessly in the system and does not overheat like the 8800GT did. To boot game performance has basically doubled if not tripled although that is expected with an upgrade from a Mid range card a year ago to Nvidia's latest and greatest Single GPU card. Great buy would recommend to everyone.

Cons: Expensive but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: Shipped all the way from California to Northern Alberta via UPS Ground and it got here in about 5 days in awsome condition. Very nice Newegg!!

5 out of 5 eggsThe 'new' 8800s ;=)

Pros: Where do I start...
These cards are a satisfying upgrade from my 280s. So I will keep it short. ;=)

10c lower temps (air)..
35w lower power consumption..
Faster clock speeds..
Higher FPS..

I'm not a benchmark hunter but I do use Vantage loops as stress test for systems I build.
In my latest build below (personal system) I now have 3 in SLI on an ASUS P6T6 Workstation board and the performance is amazing. The system itself is oc'd, and with these I was able to hit P36620 at stock clocks on the gpu's.

At 1920x1200 I can 'almost' max everything in EQ2.. *The EQ2 engine isn't as efficient as say the Crytek engine, it's 5yrs older, but beautiful nonetheless..*
Water cooled and oc'd should show a significant improvement, but don't have the blocks yet.. (see notes below)

Every other game I have is smooth as silk..
(COD4, Fallout3, Farcry2, Crysis, L4D, EQ2, DeadSpace, Grid, AssassinsCreed, HL2, Oblivion)

Cons: For those who currently own water cooled 280s, you will most likely not be able to use the blocks if you have the full coverage type.. so consider that in your budget. I have Aquagrafx blocks for my 280s and they hit the vrms next to the memory chips on these 285s resulting in a 'no fit' bah!

New Aquagrafx blocks are on their way! heh

Other Thoughts: ASUS P6T6 Workstation (Amazing board, check review)
i7 920 (3.94ghz)
6gb Corsair XMS 1600
3xWD500Black
3xSLI XFX GTX285 Black
HX1000
Enzotech Extreme X *temporary* (MIPS full mb waterblock set on the way, EK Supreme LT)
Silverstone-FT01

5 out of 5 eggsNICE

Pros: Card runs great, monster upgrade from an 8800gts.

Cons: Once again, another long, large card. I usually run in decent size cases, but small form factor guys should really watch out.

Other Thoughts: FC2 bundle + NVIDIA CoD5 gift was a great way to enjoy the new build!

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Picture

Pros: I got this card in a new build from an old Dell XPS 400 with a 7900 Nvidea card in it.

Let me just say that it makes games made to look gritty and poor seem just amazing (namely L4D)!

Runs cool and quiet. Two free games are an added perk, its almost like eighty extra dollars for something else.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Its BIG. Its MEAN. Its your enemies worst nightmare and your dreams come true.
