4 out of 5 eggsdecent

Pros: It functions decently It will handle a fair bit of abuse. Also on the GTS250 it has a nice Gig of memory. It lasted for about 4 years of usage.

Cons: Prone for heat build up. The fan was loud and even running small games. It was hard to clean, like most newer cards the plastic shroud is designed to be tamper proof and are hard to clean under. The fan after one year developed a squeak, and as I stated the card itself lasted for about 4 years. Last year it died, the screen show up all white with a black line at the bottom. RIP I think the heat build u and the inefficiency of the fan led to this but that is how you ensure costumers purchase upgrades.

Other Thoughts: It was a replacement for my Sapphire that I killed not knowing what I was doing. but that is how we learn best, is from failures. Aside from being loud and the fan squeaking I think it has done well in it's life time, but not anything too remarkable.

5 out of 5 eggsNot bad at all

Pros: I've had it for probably a year and a half now and I game almost everyday. High end to low end this card performs, provided you have other high end components installed.

Granted, it's not gonna make Crysis run maxed out at 60 fps, but it'll pull 20-30 maxed out at 1920x1080 (example paired with a AMD 1090T cpu), and you're set for pretty much every other game, with a few exceptions.

All around great card, sturdy.

Cons: It's an XFX so it does run a bit hot. Without adequate case cooling and room this thing will jump to 75-82c under full load. It is a performance card though, so that's a give in.

Other Thoughts: It's outdated, of course, and probably won't be back on sale. Ever. If you're thinking of upgrading for 2011 and on games, don't. If you just want something to destroy CS:S, get it.

5 out of 5 eggsThis card has been great

Pros: Everything ive thrown at it seams to run perfectly fine even with AA on max. And my fan is quiet as ever , i dont know why other peoples are so loud maybe it was just a bad one . I literally cant hear it, my cd drive is louder haha.

Cons: none that i know of

Other Thoughts: I think i might sli this card

4 out of 5 eggsRMA, but good graphics

Pros: Fast, Physics, Low power use. Good looking card. pretty good clocks. Competes with the ATI 4850 and 4770 quite well.

Cons: mine has a really noisy fan and so it is going back to Newegg. Way overpriced. Don't like the bright green stripes on the card. I prefer simple black.

Other Thoughts: you can buy a 4850 1gig card which is nose to nose with this one for about 110.00 from XFX which is 30 or so less than this card and there is really no difference in any games. The XFX 4850 and GTS250 even have the same cooler.

I know the cooler is bad on my 250 because the cooler on the XFX 4850 which again is the same makes almost no noise. Still I gave the card 4 eggs because it worked to play games it was just way too loud. I imagine it is just my 250 and not all of them.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks beautifully-- recommended.

Pros: Card installed and updated flawlessly. Be sure to go online for the latest drivers. This is a great mid-ranged card! Nvidia never fails.

Cons: Sort of massive. Covers up an extra PCI slot, this is more or less unavoidable with gamer-level graphics cards at this point however.

Other Thoughts: I like the style XFX. A cool looking card for windowed cases.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Fast for what it is. Easy to overclock should you choose to with EVGA precision. Good looking. Runs pretty cool. Double lifetime warranty

Cons: As XFX decided to use their own GPU cooler they chose one that is slightly louder than the reference design. I am stuck wishing I had ordered from BFG or EVGA due to not quite silent operation at idle.

Other Thoughts: I do not generally order from XFX. Still they are a good company and since they have the double lifetime warranty it sealed the deal for me. I would not buy one of these from EVGA as they only have a 2 year warranty and BFG just flat out overcharges for their cards. So XFX fit the bill. If only the fan were a little quieter I would be totally happy. It loses one egg for the slightly loud fan as it is that irritating to me.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: What can i say it will run anything you can trow at it on the highest settings without a problem. Stays reasonably cool i had it maxed out and it didn't get over 140F.

Cons: none so far quick easy install and amazing performance what more can you ask for.

Other Thoughts: Best bang for the buck without a shadow of a doubt you cant beat this card.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing!

Pros: This card is amazing! If you are shopping on the budget and looking for a high end card just stop now and buy. This card has impressed me from the moment I took it out of the box to when I was running Crysis on high at 1600x1024 with no lag. This card has gone past expectations and there is no regret. The Physics engine is great it amazing to see building blow up and walls thrown at you with amazing clarity. If I had to describe this card with one word it would be "Amazing!". So if your shopping on a budget like I was pick this card up now.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My Specs:

Core 2 Quad 8200 oc to 3.2 ghz
4GBs of ddr 2 pc6400
1TB 7200rpm Sata HDD
xfx GTS 250
xfx nForce 680i LT SLI mb
500watt PS

It says that 450watts at a minimum but I would suggest getting the recomended of 630watt for non SLI and 680watt with SLI. I say this because I noticed that it decreased my system performance a little so i am going to get a bigger power supply.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Very nice card for the money. I havent had a problem with this card yet, for the low end of the 200 series video cards it performs extremely well handles every high end game i currently play pretty much on max settings (cod:waw, crysis &crysis wars, Frontlines:FOW, ET:QW and fear 2). It only needs 1 six pin for power unlike its predecsssor the 9800gtx+. Also make sure you get the 1 gig version for those high resolution monitors.

Cons: Not really a con but it does run hot in high end games so insure you manually turn the fan speed rpm's up with EVGA Precision tool 80 to 90 should do it not auto. Usually this keeps it around 70 to 75 degress celsius while gaming. Thinking about redoing the thermal paste on the card (this will not void the warranty with xfx). Unlike others this card has never shut down on me even with high temps while gaming, so for some nice graphics and not a large dent in your wallet i recommend you get this card.....but make sure you have a high end machine to put this card in to ensure you dont have any problems (i.e. good processor etc.)>

Other Thoughts: this card runs great in my system hope it does in yours.
OCZ600watt stealth extreme
Raidmax smilodon case
XFX 750a
AMD Phenomx4 9650 2.3ghz w/ Zalman9900led cooler
2sticks - 4 gigs A-Data DDR2 pc-6400
Xfi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional Series
and the rest is gravy....i will be buying another card for sli in the future.
