5 out of 5 eggsXFX 4890 BAD COMPANY 2

Pros: RUNS BC2 JUST AS FAST AS MY NEW 6950 FLASHED TO A 6970 OVERCLOCKED AT 925/1450!

THIS CARD OWNED! AND STILL RUNS AGAINST THE NEW DIRECT X 11 CARDS. TO BAD YOU CAN NOT BUY THEM ANYMORE. I WOULD HAVE CROSSFIRED THESE IF THEY KEPT THEM GOING. OH WELL. SELLING IT TO A FRIEND(TOM) I HOPE YOU ENJOY IT AS MUCH AS I DID. TAKE CARE OF HER AND REMEMBER TO KEEP THAT FAN RUNNING HIGHER WHEN YOU OVERCLOCK. LOL.

Cons: RUNS WARM, BUT TURN UP THE FAN TO ABOUT 50% AND PROBLEM SOLVED. DON'T EXPECT IT TO DO IT AUTOMATICALLY.

WHY DID THEY STOP WITH THIS AND KEEP RUNNING THE 4850 CARDS? THE 4850 CARDS WOULD NOT OVERCLOCK AND WERE MUCH SLOWER. SHAME ON ATI.

Other Thoughts: I AM NOT SURE WHICH VERSION I ACTUALLY HAD. BUT IT HAS A BLACK PCB BOARD. I OVERCLOCKED MINE STABLE 24/7 AT 925/1025. 3DMARK 2006 SCORE WITH AMD 965BE @ 3.8GHZ WAS 18200. WITH MY NEW 6950 FLASHED AND OVERCLOCKED I GET 22000.

TOM THIS WILL BLOW AWAY YOUR 8600 SLI SETUP!

5 out of 5 eggsgreat card

Pros: very powerful card, coming up from 2 visiontek hd 3850's in crossfire it is a major improvement.

drivers work great

works great at fairly high resolutions

great overclocker but it isn't necessary

Cons: it runs a little hot 38 degrees idle, 54 load
overclocked it runs 40 degrees idle, 67 load
amd says average temps are average at 84 degrees

i bought it 1 day before dx11 cards hit newegg.... that was annoying but after owning it i don't regret it

Other Thoughts: reviews for this card usually seem to skip over my resolution so in case anyone has similar size and is wary here is what i am pulling

2048x1152
frame rates in very high demand areas
judged from fraps
HAWX- 65 fps (totally maxed)
Crysis- 26 fps (totally maxxed)
left for dead - 180fps( maxed, i think the game is limmiting me at this rate becasue it never moves from 180 at any time)
need for speed shift(-56fps ( everything max)

these are stock clocks, but i have tested it stable to 990 core and 1145 memory, however it is hardly neccessary

it runs a little hot 38 degrees idle, 54 load
overclocked it runs 40 degrees idle, 67 load
amd says average temps are

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Nice FPS. Haven't really tested above 1024 x 768 ( I so need a new monitor), but it runs smooth. Game play is great. I am so happy to get a nice steady FPS. This card delivers on all it's promises. Would love to see it in Crossfire though the 5870's are out with DX11. Still, if you don't need the NEXT BEST thing, get this card. 170 cheaper and a nice performance.

Cons: RUNS HOT HOT HOT. Kick the jetliner fan on (Sounds like a freaking plane) and watch the temps drop. Does a good job at keeping it cool if you don't mind it sounding like a wind tunnel.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I am satisfied with this video card. No problems to report, though my ownership has only been a few days. Will update if anything unusual comes about. I hope not. I relaly am enjoying my game play now!!!

4 out of 5 eggsMeh....

Pros: It's a pretty quick card. I went from avg 23 fps in crysis to 30fps with 8xAA on at 1920x1200 (used Fraps). Plays all of my games minimum 45fps at 1920x1200 (except Arkham Asylum and Crysis.) Great performance for the price. Some people complain about the fan, and you do hear it, but I've got six case fans already, so what's one more;)

Cons: None really...see other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: I don't want to bag on this card, as it does what it says. My issue with it is my own fault for not reading the fine print. I had a BFG 8800GTX 768 mb before this, and got spoiled by the Physx support, and the way that card would maintain framerates up to 8xAA on any game. This card feels kind of like a rice rocket: gobs of horsepower, but zero torque (can't pull a load), whereas the 8800GTX felt like a big V8, gobs of horsepower and torque...not the highest top-end, but can maintain it's top-end speed even with a load...hope that makes sense;) All in all, if you're not attached to Physx support, get this card, especially if you're gaming in 1680x1050 or lower...you'll be very happy. If you're spoiled by Nvidia Physx (Arkham Asylum) or play 1920x1200 and up, GTX 285 minimum (I've already ordered one from Newegg.)

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -I'd put pretty high up there it terms of performance; you don't really need better than this will give you.
-Big but not too big.

Cons: Apparently there is a common problem with 4890s. Namely that they squeal. Fortunately, it's not that loud (if your case is closed you likely won't notice it).

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent card. Excellent price.

Pros: Fast card. One of the best out there, especially for the price. No problems on any games, including Crysis on very high. Fit easily in my Lian-Li case. Fan keeps it cool.

Cons: Fan is loud once near 50%. Use ATI's OverDrive in the driver to set a good default. I run about 40% when gaming, 30% when other activities. Temps haven't gone over 69C.

Other Thoughts: Paired with a i7 920 and 6GB DDR3. My gaming resolution is only 1280x1024. Handles all maxxed settings from all my games - Crysis, Far Cry2, Stalker: Clear Sky, Call of Duty: WaW.

5 out of 5 eggsZoom Zoom!

Pros: Awesome card! Traded in a Sapphire 4890 Vapor-X for this guy and I'm glad I did. The Vapor didn't do as great a job with heat as I expected, and it wasn't as stable.. I haven't had a single VPU recovery issue since installation! I was looking for one with an 8pin PCIe, wanted the extra power.. and it helps when pushing the cards core to 950 or above.. pushed it to 975 so far with minor artifacting, dropped down to a safe 950.. rock solid! Fan speed @ 50%.. it's a little loud but idles at 42*C and load is about 56*C. Never seen it above 60*C.
Playing Crysis @ 1920x1200 and all high settings.. barely a stutter :D
This thing is a beast! Get one!!

Cons: Knowing me I'll want to trade it in for a 5870 when they release. :)
No Cons, other than the fan gets a little loud, but it does a great job cooling the card!

Other Thoughts: 3DMark06 - 18747
AMD Phenom II 955 BE @ 3.6Ghz and rising
ASUS M4A79T Deluxe AM3
XFX XXX 4890 @ 950/975
4GB Corsair Dominator DDR3-1600
Samsung SyncMaster 2493HM 24" @ 1920x1200
PCP&C 750W Quad Silencer Black
300GB WD VelociRaptor
Creative SB X-Fi Fatal1ty Pro Series
CPU under a little water :)
