Super Fast Nice Card
- Pros: It's a very nice card, bout it for 300 at somehwere else because everyone else was bone dry, and still is! ATI seems to be loosing big money by not having these avail, while letting nVidia catch up....Overall this is a MONSTER of a card, eats anything up to date I throw at it, at MAX settings. Low power consumption, Im running it on my 520HX PSU just perfect. Also, it's quieter than my old 8800GT I just replace it with. I've always gone nVidia, untill now. Pretty card, and great cooling, vents outside the case, so actually my cpu temps have gone DOWN compared to my 8800GT. Not one hiccup and you can run 3 monitors on it. HMDI. Lifetime Warranty! Should last at least a year till I upgrade again.
- Cons: Big Card, double slot, kinda pricey, but not for the performance to cost ratio! Drivers still need a little updating, but thats not really a con, because it's expected. Was VERY hard to get my hands on one! It's like gold in my hands right now!
- Other Thoughts: Make sure you have 2 6 pin PCI connectors, or card will not run if you ninja rig it, if you know what I mean. Everytime I've upgraded I double up everything. Went from 256 to 512 now 1GB memory. Went from 64, 128, now 256Bit. Went from 9, 10, now Directx 11! Thats how I role. So in theory ---> my next card will be 2GB, 512BIT, DirectX12! :-)
uhm whatts with wrong reviews?
- Pros: People seem to put bad comments but I have not had one hiccup or error. So now I have a second their that good for crossfire. =)
- Cons: None. Besides the people who know noting posting comments on newegg. Got this card and a Asus card for crossfire this was sold out... no need to take eggs off for the companies having high demand on cards.
- Other Thoughts: All problems people get are mostly their own problem. They should know buying a new card is going to have a few problems so do not lower your eggs unless you plan on rectifying it in a few days when the problems fixed. Also this card is not an equal to a 8800....or a 4850.... this is on par with the 4890 or the best nvidia card they make. The 5770 is the new 4870 and 5750 is the new 4850. Learn to research and think before you people toss potential buyers away from a good product with incorrect information.
The Sweet Spot
- Pros: Fast. Very fast. The card isn't as jumbo-sized as its 5870 cousin so it will fit in more modest cases (like my CoolerMaster Scout) Seems to run cool at stock speeds, but haven't done any testing to verify this. Noise is present, but it's nothing major AT ALL.
- Cons: Availability. I ordered mine the day it first was listed in stock and the Egg came through and shipped it that next day. I paid the MSRP so I feel like that was a good deal. All 5850s are currently THE SAME CARD with a different sticker. I manually turned up GPU fan to full blast with Catalyst software and it is loud... it is louder than I imagined a fan could be... BUT... this level is never reached during intense gaming thankfully :)
- Other Thoughts: For serious gamers who don't have extreme budgets, this is the card to get... well, this or any other 5850.
