5 out of 5 eggsProud Owner and Loving It!

Pros: Performance! The card eats anything you throw at it! I've been looking for another card just like this to use in Crossfire and when I do it will be just lovely. Runs cool even under load! I also have an XFX HD6950 that goes bananas and sounds like a jet is taking off in my case whenever I play SWTOR. Temps would jump to 100c OUCH! I pulled that one and popped in the ole HD5850 and the old card doesn't even break 70c. Why? Good question...I've been asking XFX Support that for the last couple of days with no response just yet. They are usually good about keeping up with things so I hold no ill will.

Cons: Not much of a "Con" but a double fan/heat sink would be super if I could find one.

Other Thoughts: I thought the HD6950 would be doing more for me than the 5850 but the 5850 just keeps proving itself to be a reliable card through and through. If you can still find this card, do it. Its gotta be much cheaper than what I paid for it a year ago.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat GPU

Pros: This card is amazing, although Nvidea is great ATI is getting their reputation.
Slightly less power than its Nvidea counterpart but it requires less power, causes less heat and I love the drivers ATI updates regularly.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: XFX 5850
8gb ram @ 1333 mhz
Ultra X4 750W
600 gb @ 7200 rpm

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice card with a lot of features and cheaper then the other radeon 5650 cards but only if it would've worked.

Cons: Wouldn't work with my Biostar Tpower I45 board. I registered online with XFX and created a support ticket but they said it was incompatible with the chipset of my board. I also tried it in two other computers and it still would not work. Rather than to keep sinking money into it I decided to get an rma to return it.

Other Thoughts: I even bought a new Corsair 650w psu w/ 52A on a dedicated +12v rail because the amps on the +12v rail was borderline with my Seasonic 550w so I thought it wasn't getting the amps it needed. Have to see what newegg does since they are out of stock. Since I had to pay with paypal they would only let me rma as a replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdated review

Pros: -Ridiculously quiet(to my standards at least)-
-Amazing power usage-
-Still think it looks like an awesome hot rod-
-Idle of a measly 35c(see other thoughts)-
-Overclocks like a beast(see other thoughts)-
-CrossfireX scaling in most games almost equals 2 5870s within 10% or lower-
-Price and performance gain to crossfire is just too irresistible to pass up-
-CCC is amazingly simple to use(for me at least)-
-Plays all current games at playable frame rates easily at 780p res or lower with reasonable AA-
-DX11 looks absolutely amazing on the few fully supported games out and makes little to NO impact on FPS-

Cons: None for performance. Until however TSMC yields better results on 40nm(because they're manufacturing both GF100s a.k.a GTX400s and HD5000s) the price is kinda erratic.

Other Thoughts: I use to get an idle of 45c but that was because the card initially refused to down clock but after a couple days in my system it functioned just fine. The max I've tested the gpu to using AMDs gpu tool was 825mhz at 1.038V and it stayed rock solid stable. The ram however will not go past 1175 when the card hits 78c so higher clocks require liquid cooling. The overclock percentage is nearly an even linear curve to performance gain, at least on my tests. These are my results with just furmark with the fan set to auto.

5 out of 5 eggs33+ FPS in Crysis @ 1680x1050 Ultra settings

Pros: Quieter than my 3870; laughs at everything I throw at it and asks for more punishment. Getting 33+ FPS in Crysis at maximum settings-never have seen this performance level before

Cons: Takes two 2-pin power connectors (my older 3870 only needed one); doesn't do the dishes

Other Thoughts: For $300, you can't get a better card than this. XFX also offer a fantastic warranty on their cards, so I picked this one over similar ones from other manufacturers. Have not overclocked this card-don't need to!

4 out of 5 eggsgreat card wish i had two

Pros: Great card a bit expensive but well worth the money, for the first time ever since I've delt with computers I am able to run every game I want without worrying with frame rate issues. This thing is a beast right now with games and I doubt they'll be anything coming out anytime soon that will slow it down.

Cons: I can't seem to get any audio out of the HDMI when i have it hooked up to my 40" tv but i do love playing Crisis & Crisis Warhead on my big screen instead of my monitor.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: The card has a loud fan at full speed, but at idle and during gaming the fan rarely spins up fast enough to hear it. Runs Borderlands really smooth (it's capped at 60fps though) and can handle Crysis Warhead (enthusiast, haven't turned on AA)

Cons: The only con I have is that my card didn't come with a DiRT 2 coupon, this is really dissapointing as I bought borderlands instead of DiRT 2 expecting to get it with the card :/

Other Thoughts: Heard great things about OC'ing this beast, cant wait to delve into it.

5 out of 5 eggsSimply Awesome

Pros: It installs easily, it works extremely well - a huge upgrade from my previous top-of-the-line card. I did a photomerge in photoshop cs4 involving 14 10.2m-pixel raw files, my Core I7 cpu never went over 14% usage, and it looked fabulous. I use Greytag-Macbeth's Eye-one display profiler, and now I can profile both of my monitors/TVs independently. This is simply an awesome card. I waited long enough for the NVidia, and I'm glad I got this one. Customer support is FAST! I needed advice on one-vs-two six-pin power connections - I had one, it uses two. I had a spare output, it worked perfectly.

Cons: It takes two power cords. If you just plug in one, you get an amazing screeching high-pitched tone. No other cons - that's not a deal breaker! If you want analog sound so your local source and TV source both work, don't use HDMI - use the adapter (supplied) and the two DVI outputs.
