2 out of 5 eggsBuggy Drivers

Pros: Loved the speed boost I got over the 250GT.

Cons: The drivers went out of date and when I tried to do the auto update it crashed halfway through. I had to pull the board and put the 250GT in to download and install the new drivers and software. This worked for about 2 more months then it crashed again and now I have no power from the MOBO. This always ran hot, needed to have 2 fans like the Twin Frozer. The single fan often sounded like a jet taking off.

5 out of 5 eggsXFX 5770

Pros: A great long lasting card.

Cons: Always ran a little warm.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this thing about 3 years ago. It has been in several computers in the house and at work. I have never had a problem out of it. It still runs great. I am almost sorry it didn't break so I could take advantage of the XFX double lifetime warranty. ;)

Pros: Works good on games, never had an issue with that.

Cons: Have not had a single working driver in the 2+ years I have owned this card. Get "AMD Display driver" errors constantly ever day when doing normal desktop work.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: I bought my original HD 5770 in March of 2010 along with an Phenom II 965 processor /w motherboard and it worked well for awhile. One year later, my motherboard decided to die, so I went ahead and upgraded to an i5-2500k (currently clocked at 4.6ghz), new motherboard with three PCIe slots, and a Corsair 850 watt power supply. Battlefield 3 was just about to come out and I knew that my computer was going to choke with just one card. So, since these go for about $80 bucks used now, I got another and ran crossfire. I couldn't believe how well these cards scale with each other. At 1080p, I run BF3 maxed out with no AA and i usually hover around the 60-50 fps area. It'll dip in the mid 30's, but it was a HUGE improvement regardless. It LITERALLY doubled my performance in many games.

I now have a third 5770 on it's way that should last me until the next generation GPU's come out. These cards are very under powered compared to the rest of my rig, but don't underestimate their potential.

Cons: I'm deducting one egg for the simple fact that these cards were released before the software for them was actually ready. Anyone who used the 5xxx series from the early beginning should remember the driver issues that plagued these cards. I'm not going to lie, it took FOREVER for AMD to get it right (at least for my system) and it was disheartening cause I originally upgraded from an HD 3870 and I LOVED that card. I had ZERO problems with it.

I can safely say that, in 2012, everything runs stable now and has been for a long time, which is what made me decide to get a third card in the first place.

I actually don't mind the noise from the cards. It does sound kinda like a very weak blow dryer, but I never found it annoying seeing as it's a very tolerable droning sound.

Other Thoughts: Something that I'd like to mention that I haven't seen anyone point out is my original XFX 5770 came with two crossfire ports while the other one I bought (same model) came with just one port. Be careful if you're looking to crossfire more than two of these cards as XFX doesn't specify this at all without physically looking at the card or through an actual picture of it. I actually just ended up ordering an OEM 5770 cause I could NEVER find the right XFX model that I needed.

4 out of 5 eggsWorked great til it didn't

Pros: Ran all my games like GW, GW2( Beta weekends so far), Skyrim, Borderlands, LOTRO at high settings on 1920x1080 very well.

Cons: I shut down my system for a 3 day trip. came home and computer powers up but no display on either of my monitors( 1 HDMI, 1 DVI). Tried putting it in a different PCI-E slot, same no display. Tried connecting 3 different power plugs/ connections, Still no displays. Waiting to hear from XFX Support. In the meantime switched back to my 7300GS card.

Other Thoughts: LOVE NEWEGG!!!
Huge difference over my previous nvidia 7300 GS. Was amazed!! Temp

5 out of 5 eggsGreat midranged card!

Pros: This card is fairly cheap compared to the other ones on the market. IT plays almost all my games to the Medium-High settings like Crysis, Crysis 2, FarCry 2, Left 4 dead 1&2, Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, Diablo 3 and Resident Evil 5 with smooth FPS without any problems for about 3 years now. Solid and reliable. I'm getting a 6770 to crossfire with this, yes you can do that. So if you own this card and wanna cross fire but can't find any other 5770's for sale anymore, just hook up a 6770. Supposedly they perform better than 5850's and GTX 285's.

Cons: You can't exactly max-out most newer games. Maybe on a lower resolution. It is getting outdated. Crossfire should change that.

Other Thoughts: Great card, worth every penny.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty noice

Pros: Still kicking after 2 years with nearly no new issues since I got it

Cons: Pretty loud fan and overclocking causes it to act up a bit even if you only OC a tiny bit, but it was like that since I've gotten it.

5 out of 5 eggscost effective gaming and 3-display solution

Pros: Runs all my games like Fallout New Vegas at high settings on 1920x1080 well

Need Eyefinity-validated adapter to get 3-displays, can't use the cheap adapters but a DP to VGA or DP to DVI (single link active) works fine. Google for it and it will take you to the AMD eyefinity validated dongles page.

Cons: need eyefinity-validated adapter to get 3-screen goodness, some people think they can slap a $5 adapter and be done, but you'll need one of the pricier ones for $15-25

1 out of 5 eggsARGH!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: cheep

Cons: cheep. doesn't run 3 monitors reliably. Requires manual setting in CCC to get it to stop BSODing. Not Mac compatible if you get the 577A-ZNFC version. Unable to flash the firmware to fix problems like other 5770 cards.
