5 out of 5 eggs3 years of pwnage!

Pros: Was a really good card back in its day. With nice supporting hardware, this card CAN play BF3 with satisfactory results.

Cons: After 3 years of solid overclocking this card is dieing. Overheating.

Other Thoughts: I'd still buy it if I wanted to save money and not need it for the newest games.

2 out of 5 eggsBad Card, Bad service

Pros: -Pre-OCed so you don't really have to worry about it. Just set the speed up higher via CCC/ AMD Overdrive.

-Looks nice

Cons: -Horrible drivers

-Experienced a pixel problem where screen is filled with grayed out pixels and stutters images. Doesn't impact performance, but kills your concentration cause you're too disturbed by the pixels

-Emailed XFX Support, told me to put all BIOs OC settings to default and delete any OC programs such as Overdrive. Update BIOs drivers, seemed to lessen the pixel problem, but still there.
Placed friend's 4890 XFX card in, works perfect with no problems. Put back in faulty 5770 card, problem appeared again.
Told XFX what happened asked to get it shipped in to get ti checked, day 3 - no response still (I knew this was coming) I'm a business major, I know how it works.

Other Thoughts: Don't get this card. I upped to the 6850. Super quiet and 2x better.

5 out of 5 eggsGood card

Pros: Fast card for the money, not too noisey and not an energy hog.

Cons: None, maybe the size but compared to a 5970 it's tiny.

Other Thoughts: Bought the card on sale, wish I had bought two to crossfire.

2 out of 5 eggsCaution: Possible Defective Design

Pros: High specs. for it's price. The only non-competitive specification in its class is the 128-bit memory. Everything else is often superior.

Cons: VASTLY IMPORTANT:
I, and it seems many others online, get a vertical bar problem. After playing many 3D graphic games, the system will freeze and display only vertical bars. Some video types will not play.

Rumor suggests that there is a defect in the power components such that it is incapable of taking enough power to run itself. This concurs with experiment: significantly reducing the core and memory clocks (thereby reducing power needs) seems to solve at least some of the issues... so far.

An online search will demonstrate the testimonies of others implying a defect in the card design itself.

Do not use after-market cooling systems; you will likely not have enough power through the card to run them.

Other Thoughts: If not for the likely power issues (see "Cons" above), this would be a wonderful card for it's price class. I, personally, have a fondness for the value and efficiency of ATI cards and have bought several. This card alone should not discredit ATI itself.

Just don't buy this particular card unless you wish to turn the clock speeds down or they address the issue.
